[Speaker 1]
Church-based fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God waitly desires a godly home front. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tech Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.
[Speaker 2]
Our topic for this today's family fellowship is Manifesting the Love of God, or you can say the love of God. This love of God. And we will be looking at about just about three passages of the Bible. The first one is 1 John 4:16-18. The second one is Romans 5:1-7 thereabouts. And then the third one is Galatians 5:22. Galatians 5:22. So let's see the first one. 1 John 4:16-18. 1 John. John is before Jude, after Peter. 1 John 4:18. So let's 1 John 4. We'll read some verse 16 to verse 18. Let's go there quickly. Okay, so let's look at 1 John 4. 1 John 4. I said verse 16 to 18. Who is reading for us?
[Speaker 3]
And we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. Herein our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.
[Speaker 2]
Okay. So the basic thing that we are bringing out of that place is the fact that how do we know the person who dwell in God? How do we know the person who dwell in God? How can we dwell inside God?
[Speaker 3]
God is love. He that dwells in love dwells in God.
[Speaker 2]
So how can I live inside God? If I want to dwell, I want to live inside God, what do I do?
[Speaker 3]
When you dwell in love.
[Speaker 2]
When you dwell in love. So if I want to live outside God? Anybody who is not dwelling in love, who is not living a life of love, is not living in God. He's outside God. To be inside God, you must live in love. There must be this love that you are living inside. You are living as you live inside that love, then you are living inside God. When you are outside that love, you are outside God. Now, which love is this love? Which love is this love that once you are outside the love, you are outside God? Once you are inside the love, you are inside God? Because of time, we would have looked at some of the characteristics, but I want us to just go to the source of this love, the origin of the love. This love that we are talking about. Romans 5. Romans 5. Which love are we talking about? Romans 5. Are you there?
[Crowd]
Yes.
[Speaker 2]
Romans 5. If you look at Romans 5 around verse, let me check the verse here. Romans 5:5. Romans 5:5. Who is reading for us?
[Speaker 3]
And love does not disappoint us because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom he has given us.
[Speaker 2]
He said and hope does not make us ashamed because God has poured out his love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which he has given us. So which love are we talking about? Which love are we talking about?
[Speaker 3]
Love of God.
[Speaker 2]
No. This is the source of the love. How does this love come?
[Speaker 4]
Through the Holy Spirit.
[Speaker 2]
Yes, that's the person who poured it. Where did he pour it into?
[Speaker 4]
Into our hearts.
[Speaker 2]
Into our hearts. So that is the source of the love. There is a love that when we get, if you look at that Romans so that you can understand it very well. Look at it from verse 1. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, we also glory in our sufferings because we know that our suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character, and character hope. And hope does not make us to be ashamed because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that he has given to us. So when we got justified by faith, when we received Jesus, when we gave our life to Jesus. Can any man come to God by himself? No. He said no man can come except the Father draws him. So who convict the world of sin and of righteousness? The Holy Spirit. So when he come to convince you and he convinced you and you had "Jesus come into my heart," what he did also is that he poured what into your heart? The love of God. That is the love. That is the love. That love is poured. If anybody is born again, anybody who is truly born again, that love has been poured into his heart. That love by which we can abide in God was poured into the heart of everybody that is born again. Because the minute the Holy Ghost come into you and he regenerated your spirit and he got you alive and you became born again. You know it is your spirit that came alive that was dead before. That spirit that came alive, that new spirit that came alive, the Holy Ghost did something to that spirit. As he brought that spirit to come alive, what happened again? He poured what? The love of God into your heart. It was poured. That is the love we are talking about. Now, that love, if anybody is not showing that love, then that person is outside the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit poured that love so that you can use by that love you can be where? You can dwell in who? In God. That's why he poured the love. So that as you live by that love, you'll be able to live inside God. Now I want to ask you, is it possible for somebody who is not born again to have that love?
[Crowd]
No.
[Speaker 2]
So if somebody who is not born again say "I love you," can he love?
[Crowd]
No.
[Speaker 2]
He cannot love. Because until the love of God was poured, there was no love in man. There was no love. What it look like love in man is not love. The source and origin of love is who?
[Crowd]
God.
[Speaker 2]
God. We are looking at the Holy Spirit. We are looking at it very practically now. The source, the origin of love for any man to be able to love, when you say love, the kind of love when God is talking about love. You know man can be talking about love. When they say "you are the only coco in my cupboard," "you are the only butter in the bread," and then they take the girl, after they marry the, before they even go into marriage as they are sleeping with Funke, they say "Funke you are the only girl I love," don't be sleeping with Bose. A love that is full of deceit. They cannot love because it takes the Holy Spirit to be able to love. That is why while they say they are loving, they'll be deceiving, they'll be lying, they'll be manipulating. It is not love because they cannot love. It's not possible. The only source of this love, when you say a man loves and he loves, when we say love is patient, love is kind, love does not rejoice in iniquity, the kind of when you say this person is loving according to the way God is talking about love, that person must first have what in his heart? The love of God poured by who? Poured by the Holy Spirit. That is why it is impossible for anybody who has not encountered the Holy Spirit to love. That is why everything they call love in the world, is it really love? They cannot love. It takes the Holy Spirit. So lastly, we now ask ourselves a very important question: why are Christians not showing that love?
[Crowd]
Because they don't have Holy Spirit.
[Speaker 2]
No. It was Holy Spirit that got them born again. Now that is the question we want to answer. Why is it that Christians are not showing forth that love? Many Christians, even for those who are born again now, they are not supposed to have the other kind of, they say "my sister I love you," and it is full of lust, full of fornication, immorality, full of all kinds of unholy touching that they call brotherly affection. Why can't they love the way God loves? The pure love. And they are born again. I want to show you the source. We want to answer that question. First we have shown that unbelievers cannot love. Anybody who is not born again if they say "I love you," o kan n tan ara e ni, ko le love e, ko possible. Holy Spirit must first encounter you and pour the love. Now the Holy Ghost may pour the love and there may still be another problem, and that's what we want to look at, our final thing. We are going to Galatians to answer that question. Galatians 5. Galatians 5. Galatians 5:22. Only that verse is what we'll look at.
[Speaker 3]
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
[Speaker 2]
You see? Against such things there is no law. Now look at it. Can we look at that 22 again? Look at it very closely. Which version do you have?
[Speaker 3]
CSB.
[Speaker 2]
Read it.
[Speaker 3]
But the fruit...
[Speaker 2]
Did they put "s" at the back of the fruit?
[Speaker 3]
No.
[Speaker 2]
Now look at it very well. It didn't put "s." Amplified, look at your version. Verse 22. It didn't put "s"?
[Speaker 4]
No.
[Speaker 2]
No. Let's check another version. NIV. "But the fruit of the spirit..." no "s." Let's check all these other versions. If you check standard version, you know what it says? Ko so pe awon eso emi, o ni eso emi, ko so pe awon eso, eso. Fruit. Okay, let's try other translations. I'm trying to show you something very very important. Now do you know why I'm showing you that? Look at your normal English. If we say "the fruit of the spirit," because of time, if you say the fruit of the spirit, look at it. The fruit of the spirit is what? Love. Now "is" is standing for how many things? One thing. One thing. Now if you want to mention love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, gentleness, what are you supposed to say? The fruits of the spirit are. But it said "the fruit of the spirit is." Don't forget that the spirit only poured love. That love is the love that brings joy. Is the love that brings peace. Is that love, but it's the fruit, that is one thing. That one thing is love. In that love is joy. In that joy is peace. In that peace is patience. In that patience in kindness. In that kindness is goodness. In that goodness is faithfulness. In that faithfulness is gentleness. In that faithfulness is self-control. If you look at 1 Corinthians 13, it say "love is kind, love is patient, love is this, love is that." Do you see the fruit there again? "Love is this, love is not easily irritated, love bears all things, love hope in all situation." So it is one thing, it is just love. Do you get it now? It is just love. The fruit of the spirit is love. Now it's talking about this love. The true love is a love that has what? Joy, peace, self-control, faithfulness. That's the true love. When you say "I cannot control myself" and so you commit fornication, it is not the kind of love of God. No. That one has self-control. It has peace. It has faithfulness. It is faithful. There is no lie, there is no deceit in it. That love that the one that the spirit poured. But we are saying why are Christians not able to manifest it? Now let's now look at it very very quickly. What is a fruit?
[Speaker 4]
A grown...
[Speaker 2]
If you plant corn today, by tomorrow you will get fruit?
[Crowd]
No.
[Speaker 2]
If you plant apple today, by tomorrow you will get fruit? So when does fruit normally come out?
[Speaker 3]
After some time.
[Speaker 2]
God bless you. It means the thing must grow, grow, grow, grow, grow, it will now blossom, it will now bring out fruit. The reason why many Christians are not manifesting this love is that they are not growing. You must grow to bear fruit. You must grow spiritually. So most Christians are not growing. If you are not growing, the fruit cannot come because it is a fruit. You must grow. So to ba kuku ti n ya born again, you may still be committing fornication, say "I love." That is not the love the one that is poured in your heart. You may say "yes I'm born again," you may not be able to control your emotion, you may not be able to control your anger, you may not be faithful, you may still be telling lies. There may not be joy in your life, there may not be peace in your life even though you are born again. Because you are planted. Bible says "grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord." You must grow. If you don't grow, there will be no fruit. For unbelievers, I tell people don't let anybody deceive you, anybody who is not truly born again cannot love. I'm talking of the love as far as God says love. A love that is what? Joy, peace, longsuffering, patience, kindness, self-control, faithfulness, meekness. That love is that love, it is just one love. So when they say the love they say they cannot love. Then for Christian who is not growing, he cannot bear the fruit of the spirit because it is a fruit. Fruit. The fruit of the spirit as you grow, as you grow. How do you know that an orange is growing? How do you know that a pawpaw is growing? After some time, it will start bringing fruit. It will start bringing fruit. The only way we can know that you are growing as a Christian is when the fruit begins to come out. We need to see the fruit coming out. Praise the Lord.
[Crowd]
Hallelujah.
[Speaker 2]
Who would like to take over from this place? What do you learn? What do you learn? Okay, please ask.
[Speaker 4]
Why is that the time of growth is different? Some people grow faster than others and they may walk the same path.
[Speaker 2]
You are very correct. Because it depends on how much you give attention to God. Some people withdraw their hand and stay grow little by little. It depends, that's just what causes it. It depends, he said "draw near to God and he will draw near to you." He said "ask you will be given, seek you find, knock it will be open." Don't ask, you will not be given. Don't seek, you may not find. Don't knock, nothing will be open. Draw near to God, don't draw near to God, he will not draw near to you. It is simple as that. So it is very very important. You will still find pastors, pastors over church they will be committing fornication, they will be lying. Because they are not growing. The spirit is not growing, they are not growing. People think that church growth is not spiritual growth. Church growth is that they are committed to church, you are in one activity group, so okay he can become choir leader, that's church growth. It's different from spiritual growth. You may be growing in church but you may not be growing in the spirit. That's why you find choir leaders and this one leader, they say they are committing fornication, you find out that, it is because they are growing in church, they are not growing in the spirit. You must grow in the spirit. In our next discussion, we'll be talking about how do we grow in the spirit. That one'll be our next topic. But today I think mommy can take over from here. I hope I've answered the question.
