Just as institutions cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them, God will desire a godly home. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tents Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.

Thank you, eternal Father. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
So, from what we sent out yesterday, I believe that we are already aware of the topic we want to look at. We have been looking at the topic since August: "Feet Like Joseph." Ability to have agility of speed like Joseph had. And we have been able to look at this matter from various angles: "The Uncompromising Joseph." We have been able to look at it from the angle then the subsection: what are the things that make Joseph to be uncompromising? What are those traits that we found in Joseph that make him to be somebody who is uncompromising? And we have been able to look at one, that it was a life of shared intimacy with God, that is demonstrated in love for righteousness and hatred for wickedness. That is when somebody does not have an intimacy with God that is demonstrated in a love for righteousness and hatred for wickedness, the person may not be like Joseph. You may not be somebody who can live like Joseph. What made Joseph who Joseph was was that as an individual, he had a shared intimacy with God that is demonstrated in a strong passion for righteousness and hatred for wickedness. He hated evil.
And then the second principle we have looked at is he understood the meaning or the implication of faithfulness. When you see people who misbehave, it's because they don't understand the implication of unfaithfulness. People who understand the implication, the negative consequences that follows unfaithfulness, people who truly have a clear understanding of the principle of faithfulness, you will find them they will be uncompromising. When men don't understand this principle, they begin to live anyhow, not realizing that they have only, what they have only done is that they have mortgaged their future, they have mortgaged their purpose, they have mortgaged their honor, and that they have mortgaged their glory. I pray we will not mortgage our purpose, will not mortgage our life, will not mortgage our honor and our glory, but these are the negative implications, consequences that comes with unfaithfulness. Joseph properly understood this, so he displayed an uncommon faithfulness. So we said Joseph was somebody who was faithful, he understood that principle.
That is what we looked at last month. And this month as we conclude the topic "Feet Like Joseph," we'll be looking at the last point under this subsection. You know we said we have three points under the subsection of what is it that make Joseph to be uncompromising? Or what are those traits that we found in Joseph that make him to be uncompromising? We said three things. So we have looked at two. Today we are supposed to look at the third one under that topic "The Uncompromising Joseph." And the third one we are going to look at today, I believe if you can still make reference to your notes, I believe you should know it if you have been following us since when we started. You should know the third one. But in case you have not been following us since we started this topic in August, the third one that made Joseph to be uncompromising, to live the kind of life that he lived, is "Earnestness to be a Positive Influence." Earnestness to be a positive influence.
In looking at this point under the traits that made Joseph to be uncompromising, please lend me your ears. Please open your heart because this point is also as crucial as the other two. Don't think that because it is coming last, the points they are arranged in the order of importance. Not necessarily, please not necessarily. All of these points rather they are interrelated. They connect together. Not that if you have one, you can throw away the other. As long as you have one, the other may not be important. They all of them together form, they give you a perfect circuit. You know what I mean by a circuit? A circuit simply talks about a flow, the starting point and the ending point. So they are actually a circuit that connect together.
So, we want to look at earnestness to be a positive influence. And it is important for me to call your attention in looking at this, to make you understand who we really are as Christians. Who we are as Christians, it's very, very important. As a young man, as a young woman, it is important that you are somebody who have earnest desire for good works. Earnest desire, you must have earnest desire to practice good deeds anywhere you are. You know what the Bible say about Jesus, our Lord and Master? It says in Acts 10:38 he went about doing good. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him. So when you notice that as an individual you don't go about doing good, you are not like Jesus. Your life is far away from the life of Jesus. Jesus went about doing good. Earnest desire, earnestness to be a positive influence. Earnestness to bring positive things to bear anywhere you are, any time of the day, on any matter. You are somebody that when you leave, when you are not there, people feel it. "Ah, how we wish this person was there." Because that person is actually a positive influence. The person is full of good works, full of good deeds. Jesus went about doing good. Any believer who everywhere the person goes it is not about doing good, doing good to believers, doing good to unbelievers, being good in everything you do, then your life is far away from the life of Jesus Christ. So please take that challenge very importantly.
Look at what the Bible says in Titus. We are beginning from Titus this morning. Open your Bible, let's see the book of Titus, let's see something there in the book of Titus. Titus chapter 2. Titus chapter 2. I want us to see something very important in that chapter. It begins from the verse let me just so that we can save a little time. Actually, it begins from the verse 1. Maybe I can just read through so that I will not miss anything out. Look at the exhortation to Titus. I want you to follow this thing very well so that you can understand this third point that we are looking at. I want to make you think that if you are somebody who don't have earnest desire to be a positive influence wherever you are, then you don't know your identity, you have lost your Christian identity. That's what I want to show you. One thing that makes you a Christian is that you go about doing good. That's what I'm saying. If you don't go about doing good, if everywhere you step people pray they don't encounter you again, people desire not to have you around, if everywhere you step everybody is always wrong you are the only right person, go and check your life. There's something wrong with your life. Something is fundamentally wrong. Christians are people who have earnest desire to be a positive influence.
Look at the readings in Titus 2. I'm reading from verse 1: "But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober," please look at what is saying here, the way people ought to live. It began with the older men. Older men should be what? "Sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience. Older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things." Are you seeing that? Talking about the older women. If as older women you are not a teacher of good thing, I don't know the essence of your life. These must be teachers of good things. Why should they be teachers of good things? "That they may admonish the young women to love their husbands." So when older women don't live right in a way that their life can communicate how the younger women should live, their life is a failure. Their life is a failure. "That they may teach the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, and to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed." Are you seeing something? They are to teach, they are to live right, and to teach the younger women to be able to live right so that there will not be a problem. What is the problem? The word of God will not be blasphemed.
There are many homes today, particularly younger couples. It is fight tomorrow, it is cursing and insulting next tomorrow, they just could not manage themselves. And by the time it is Sunday, they will carry their Bible to go to church. Such kind of life brings shame to the name of God. When through our life the word of God is blasphemed, "And this one says they are Christian." When you find two people who says they are Christian and the voice of the husband at the top of his voice "You must be mad! I will deal with you!" and then that of the wife "You are this, you are that," and you call them Christians, you begin to wonder: are these Christians? So they blaspheme the name of God. So it was taking time to make older women to teach younger women so that they can love their husbands, they can know how to do it well. I'm trying to make you see the place of positive influence.
Now so that the word of God will not be blasphemed. Likewise, exhort young men to be sober-minded. Sober-minded mean ability to consider things well before you go into it. Ability to consider things well, to look at things very well, to evaluate it. You are not impulsive. Younger men should not be people that are driven by their emotions. Because by the time you want to settle down in marriage, you will not be able to manage a woman. You will not be able to manage a woman. You know husbands, they are weak. Their wives are weaker. So there is more ordinarily more instability with the woman than with the man. So the Bible says it is so important that young men, they should begin to be sober, to be sober-minded. "In all things he should show himself a pattern of good works." Do you see it? In everything, there is need to show yourself a pattern of good works. The pattern you must want to set anywhere is the pattern of good works. Now, he says "showing yourself in all the pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing to say about you." When the opponent are trying to look for what to use to fault your life and they could not see, you know what happens? They become ashamed. They become ashamed. You know remember what happened with the case of Daniel? They look for way but they could not get anything. They themselves now said that "Look, we will never be able to get anything except we make Daniel sin against God." Till we will all die, this man will not be able to get him. May that be your kind of testimony. Look at that. He says "sound speech, that the opponent will be ashamed, having nothing to say about you." I tell young men, I tell young women, live your life in such a way that if they say they want to set up a committee to investigate you, you will not begin to make calls to know who the chairman of the panel will be because you want to see how you can bribe the chairman of the panel to help you cover some things.
Then he went ahead to speak to servants. He said, "Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well-pleasing in all things, not answering back." They should show all kinds of integrity, all kinds of honesty. That they should adorn the doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ in all things. Do you see that? One way to make the gospel beautiful, to make people appreciate that "Ah, it is good to be born again. Christianity is a sweet thing," is the way you live. Your life can bring adornment to the gospel. Your life can make people appreciate to be a Christian. Your life can make people desire to want to be born again. It is so important. Very, very important that it is our life, when people see the way we live, they appreciate Christianity. Now, why? Why is he saying all these things? Why must we live according to all of these things that he has been talking about? Look at what the Bible says in verse 11 down, down, down to verse 16. In the verse 11, look at the scripture. What did it say? "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men." Are you seeing something? Now, the reason why you should live correctly is not because there is no grace. It is because there is grace. Are you getting what I'm saying? The matter when people say "God, give me grace so that I can live correctly, give me grace to behave well," the matter is not about grace. The Bible says, "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men." So grace had appeared, not that grace will be appearing. You need to get this understanding that: see, I am to live right because God has given me grace. That's the correct way, and not "God, come and give me grace so that I live right." No, no, no.
Now, he says the reason why we are to live correctly is that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. What is the grace, what is the grace of God doing in our life? He say the grace is teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our Lord, our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from every lawless deed, and purify for himself his own special people, zealous for good works. Do you see that? Do you see that? When you are not zealous for good works, the truth is that you have lost what makes you a Christian. Christians are special people. What is special about them is that they are zealous for good works. What is special, what make a Christian different from an unbeliever is that a Christian is somebody who as an individual has this passion, is zealous for good works.
Now, let me try to read this matter in some other translations. I will first like, however, to read it in Amplified. I want us to see something in Amplified. He says, "Who gave himself on our behalf, that he might redeem us, that is, purchase our freedom, from all iniquity and purify for himself a people to be peculiarly his own." These people are peculiarly his own. Then, the next thing is that "people who are eager and enthusiastic about living a life that is good and filled with beneficial deeds." When your life is not filled with beneficial deeds, you have lost your peculiarity. That is, you have lost what makes you a Christian. I will take you to another scripture again very soon. I'm trying to make you understand that something that must be in your life. What made Joseph who Joseph was? And we are looking at the third point. I'm trying to make you see that that is exactly what Jesus came to make us to be. That thing that made Joseph who Joseph was was that thing. The Bible said the spirit of Christ in them, don't forget. They have it in them as a shadow. The spirit of Christ in them was testifying when he said, "Look, take my bone, don't leave my bone in Egypt, take it to the promised land." When he was doing all those things, there was the spirit of Christ in them. The spirit of Christ in them was working something like the life of Jesus inside them. But now Jesus, he has come, died for our sin, rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. This is what we believe and this is the basis for our salvation.
Now, what Jesus did by suffering, his death, and his resurrection was that Jesus purchased for himself a people that are peculiar. That is, he was creating a workmanship. He was getting out of the work system. He was buying some people. He bought them over. He was creating a kind of people. The kind of people that he is creating are people who are zealous for good works. When you are not zealous for good work, you lack the spirit of Christ. That's what I'm saying. That was the spirit that was operating in Joseph. It was operating in Joseph as a shadow of what is to come. Because then, the spirit of God had not come to indwell men. But he was working like that. So that thing was working in them and he was making Joseph to be uncommon. He began to serve somebody. As he was serving that person, the Bible says because of him, God began to bless that person. The blessing became so much that the person discovered that God is blessing because of this person. Will you want that kind of servant to go? I want to ask you, if you had that kind of servant and the servant want to go, will you want the servant to go? May you be a child that your parent desire. May you be a worker that your employer desire. May you be a Christian that Christians desire. May you be whichever way you find yourself, can you be so full of good works, you are so filled with it that because of you, people can say "Ah, if not for you, it is because of you that God is blessing." I'm starting to notice that because you are there, God is doing something special. That was Joseph.
Now, the spirit operating in Joseph was still operating in shadows. The reality is in Jesus. So when a man says "I have the life of God in me, I have the spirit of the living God," and that life is not full of good works, I wonder which living God is inside him. I wonder which living God is inside you as a young man, as a young woman. When you are not enthusiastic for good works, the spirit inside you is not normal. If you read the book of Watchman Nee, "When My Spirit is Normal," there is an abnormalcy. You need to tell yourself, what is wrong with my life? I have the spirit of Christ, the grace of God has appeared, I can't be like this. Break away from that thing that is holding you. Jesus purchased for himself. So when you notice that you are not enthusiastic about good works, don't settle for that kind of life. That is not what you are bought for. Tell yourself, this is not my identity. This is not my identity. I have been bought. I have been bought. Because let me tell you something. If you don't know who you are, you will live for anything. That's one problem. "My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge." When you don't have a clear understanding of who you really are, you will be living anyhow.
And that is why I'm trying to make you see who you really are. Christians are not people of dead works. When you are talking about somebody lying, somebody stealing, somebody fornicating, somebody unfaithful, somebody cornering people, somebody not transparent, somebody not clear, somebody not sincere, they should not find a believer there. Believers are not people of dead works. Believers are people of good works and they are passionate about it. Whatever frame of mind, whatever frame of mind that is keeping you from this kind of mind, whatever frame of mind that is keeping you from this kind of mind, I come against every covering cast of the devil over your life. I cast down those imaginations. I take everything captive and I bring it to the obedience of Christ. May you see the way you ought to see as a young man, as a young woman. May you see the way you ought to see. May you live correctly in the name of Jesus.
A people that are enthusiastic, that live a life that is good and full of beneficial deeds, those are Christians. Those are Christians. Let me read that version again in NLT. Look at what it says: "He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us and to make us his own very people, totally committed to doing what is right." Hallelujah. They are totally committed, totally committed to doing what is good. Those are Christians. I'm showing you what made Joseph to be uncommon. And I pray may you be an uncommon young man, may you be an uncommon young woman, may you be an uncommon person, somebody who is not common. When people encounter you, the benefit that accrue to their life, the goodness, look at how Potiphar began to carry Joseph. And before you know, he began to promote him. And I believe some people will be envious. "Is it only the one here? He's not even an Egyptian that they promote him." I'm telling you, the good of a man make way for him. You will reap what you sow. The Bible says God has a way of remembering the godly. As God have a way of remembering the wicked, God also have a way of remembering the godly. That's the reality. Let your life be beneficial to people. Totally committed to doing what is right. Totally committed to it. Those are people who are Christians.
Look at it again, look at another scripture that speak to this. That is in Matthew. Matthew chapter 5. Matthew chapter 5. Matthew chapter 5. Look at it from verse 16. It's also a very common scripture. It's something that we are familiar with, not too far away from us. Matthew chapter 5, I first want to read verse 13: "You are the salt of the earth." Are you seeing that? You are the salt. Christians, you are the salt. When you get into a situation, you salt in it. That is if something is dying, you preserve. Where something is not the way it should be sweet, you sweeten it, you season it. Because you are committed to doing good. Because you are enthusiastic about beneficial deed. You are the salt of the earth. You are the pillar, you are not the caterpillar. You are the support trying to lift up, not the person trying to pull down. You are not the backbiter. You are the person who is there, not sowing discord among brethren. You are the person making everything to work well. That is a Christian. That is what you have been redeemed to be. You are the salt of the earth. But be careful, the salt must not lose its flavor. Or how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing. May heaven not describe you as good for nothing. May heaven not look at you and say you are good for nothing. Because your life is not full of beneficial deeds. Because your life is not full of good works. Jesus went about doing good. He redeemed to himself people who everywhere they are, they are doing good. They are committed to beneficial deeds. "Feet Like Joseph." "Feet Like Joseph." "Feet Like Joseph." It says in verse 14: "You are the light of the world." You are the salt of the world, you are the light again of the world. You are the salt of the earth, you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, that it may give light to all who are in the house.
So, ordinarily when you are in a place, it will be difficult if you are committed to doing good. There is no way you can be unnoticed. It's not possible. It's not possible. When Joseph got to Potiphar's house, he was noticed. When he got to the prison, do you notice the same thing? He was noticed. You see the same thing. The prison director or the chief warder, the person in charge of the prison noticed Joseph and make him again to be the head of all the prisoners. Prisoners have been there, none of them were made head. Or maybe a head was there before. But when Joseph came, he brought another life that made the oga says "Look, we need another person here." Oya. If they don't have before, they will appoint him. If they have before, they have got a better replacement. May you be a better replacement in the name of Jesus. May you be a better person in any situation. "Ah, this our teacher is leaving. Another one is coming." By the time people encounter the one that just came, they say "Ah, thank God, thank God, this one is sweeter." May that be your life. And not "Hey, hey, hey, what kind of person is this one now for goodness sake?" May that not be your testimony in the name of Jesus.
You cannot be you are the light, you are the light of the world. And how will you shine that light? Look at how the matter put it. This is the direct word of our Lord Jesus Christ. He said, "Let your light so shine, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works." Are you seeing it? So when you say you are the light, what makes you light is good works. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." You see it. So when men cannot see the good works, the light is not shining enough. All of this "Me, I know who I am, my Christianity is in my heart. If they like, let them not believe me, if they like, let them believe me." Brother, sister, you are not getting it right. You are not getting it right. If your light shine correctly, men will see it. Maybe you are shining, but you are not shining enough. It said "Let it so shine." Some people are shining, but they are not so shining. Are you understanding me? You may be shining oh, but maybe the shining is still not enough. It has not become so shine. When only God can see it, it is shining but it's not shining enough. The Master want it to so shine beyond the one that only God can see. Let it become also the one that men can see. When men cannot see it and only God that is seeing it, sorry, the Master said that's not the one that he's looking for. Because until men see it, they cannot glorify God. Whatever you are doing, and it's only God that is seeing everything, that thing is not good enough. There is still a need to still come up, come up, come up, come up to where men can see it. It should be something that men can witness to.
So, actually, the people you call light, the people you call the light of this world, the people you call the Christians in this world, they are people who go about doing good, anywhere they are. Are they students? Are they Christians? Are they workers? Are they employer? Are they employee? Are they lecturers? Are they students? Whatever, anyhow, anywhere, in whatever status you meet them, they are people who are full of beneficial deeds. That is the third thing that make Joseph to be the kind of person that he was. "Feet Like Joseph." And let me tell you, this kind of life has benefited people in several ways. In several ways, it has benefited people in several ways. For Joseph, you can see how it benefited him. Promotion kept coming. He didn't lose his promotion. Sometimes why you may lose your promotion in the office is because your light is not shining enough. While you are busy binding all kinds of devil that are against you, you are not seeing that you too, you are against yourself. While you are saying "This man don't love me, that one don't like my face, this one do this," many times you may also look to look inward. Maybe you are the problem of yourself. Because you are not living right. You are not pleasing your employer. You are not pleasing your husband. You are not pleasing your wife. You are not pleasing your parent. You are not pleasing your employee. You are not pleasing your employer. You are not pleasing your friend. Your life is not full of beneficial deeds. That what I'm talking about. I'm not ruling out the fact that believers can be persecuted for even living right. Yes. So you need to look inward, you need to check. Joseph was enjoying, look at it, the other thing you notice about this benefit apart from promotion is favor. Look at how he was enjoying favor. Favor. He was favored by the master, he was favored by the head of the prison, he was favored by the butler who eventually remembered Joseph and said "Yeh, I've forgotten somebody oh, that I should not have forgotten oh. God, forgive me oh, God, forgive me oh." And he remembered Joseph and mentioned him to Pharaoh.
Let us learn to live like Joseph. Let us learn it. It's very, very, very, very important. Let us learn to be who we ought to be. And you can multiply it in several ways. Look at Rebekah. How did he get Isaac? How did she get out? How did she get Isaac? How? She just saw a servant who was around. The servant had prayed already that let it be that anybody that I ask that she help me, let him be the wife of my master. And not too long, Rebekah was just coming. And mind you, the man has said let it be that the person will not only give me water, but also water the camel. That is good works. And Rebekah was just coming and he said "Ah, you need water? Hey, don't worry, I will give you water; but I will also fetch and fetch and fetch until." Do you know how camel drink water? Please put that thing in such reality oh. As a young man, don't be lazy. As a young woman, don't be lazy. Laziness can deny you of God's given opportunity. The servant had prayed. Rebekah did not know. And as the man said "Don't worry, I will give you the water and I will also give all the animals," and the woman was to feed camel with water, things that can drink water like tankers. And began to give the thing water, gave the thing water, gave the thing water, water; and the thing when they were well fed with water, the servant began to say "This is the sign oh, this must be the wife of my master's son, this must be the wife of Isaac." That was how Rebekah had marital prosperity. She move on maritally in life. I pray for you you will not remain single in life because you are full of bad works. Because if God is to connect you by good works, your bad works will not get you to be connected.
I pray for you you will not miss your way. I pray for you you will not miss your way. I really pray that you will not miss your way. But this is a very important thing to note, is very important to note about our life. Very, very important that you note this about our life. It's very, very crucial so that we don't end up missing benefit that God have arranged for our life. So that we don't end up losing out in the things that God had planned for us.
As we round up this morning, wherever you are, I don't know how you have been living your life. Maybe you are having a wrong mind about being enthusiastic about good works. Please be transformed by renewing your mind by this word. Let your mind be renewed. Let your mind be renewed. The Bible says, "Have you seen a man who is diligent in his deed, in his work? He will not stand before mere men, he will stand before kings." Be committed to doing good works. Be committed to good deeds. Be committed to it. As we are about praying now, I also just still remember what's her name, the woman, Dorcas. Do you know that of what brought Dorcas to life? The widows began to weep "Yeh, the woman oh. Yeh, where will I get clothes from again? What will happen to me? Yeh." And when Peter came, they went to bring all the clothes. "See, since we have lost our husband, it have been this woman. Peter, please, please, this woman must come back to life. Please pray for her." They were showing everything. And Peter was moved in the spirit. And Peter went to pray and Dorcas came back to life. I pray for you, may you not lose your place in God because of dead works in the name of Jesus. I pray for you, you will not lose your place in God. I pray for you, you will not lose your place in God. I pray for you, you will not lose your place in God. Your life will be full of beneficial deeds and you will not lose your reward in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, eternal Father. Blessed be your holy name, our God. In the name of Jesus Christ.

Our Father, we thank you for today. We give you glory, we give you praise, we give you honor. We just commit ourselves into your hand. This is our simple prayer: help us that we may be like you. Help us that we may be like you. Help us that we may be like you. Thank you, eternal Father. In Jesus' name we pray. Let's share the grace together. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forevermore. Amen.
