Church news fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God greatly desires a godly home. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tent Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.
Unto the Lord shall the gathering of his people be. We are gathered together unto thee. Unto the Lord, we are gathered together unto thee. Unto the Lord, unto the Lord shall the gathering of his people be. We are gathered together unto thee.
[Speaker 1]
Our Father, unto you we are gathering this evening. Lord our God, the Bible says it is unto you shall the gathering of your people be. We gather unto you this evening, we who are here physically, our brethren joining us on Mixlr, our brethren joining us on Telegram, our brethren joining us on WhatsApp. Lord our God, we bring ourselves together. We say, Lord our God, your Spirit shall work within us, among us, in the name of Jesus Christ. Precious Father, we pray. As we press further again on this matter of love, the solid foundation for holiness. Lord, I pray, open yet our eyes, instruct our hearts, that we may become more and more like you, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, eternal Father. Blessed be your holy name, our God. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
We thank God again for our meeting this evening. We appreciate him for all that he's doing in our midst. And like we have been considering for the past about five weeks now, this matter of love, the solid foundation for holiness. Just as hope is the solid foundation for faith. We have been looking at this topic for some time, and we have considered several issues under it. And today, we are moving on from that spot. We want to take the matter from where we left it last week. For those of us who were around last week, is there anything we want to say? Those of us who were around last week, did anything you want to say as to your major point of lesson? Is there anything you have to say? A major point of lesson? So, come and let's use the mic so that brethren online can hear exactly what you are saying. Use the mic.
[Speaker 2]
Praise the Lord!
[Audience]
Hallelujah!
[Speaker 2]
What I learned from last week's lesson was when we read from the book of Luke when Jesus died, the scripture said that he gave up the ghost. So Daddy was buttressing that when he gave up the ghost, he left a body. That even his parents, his brother, his sister were standing off. They were standing afar watching, as the Bible said. Yet someone went to collect—someone was not ashamed of that body, though it was covered with blood, bruises, and much more. Someone was not afraid of it, was not ashamed of it. He went to the high priest to collect permission to take care of a body that even the parents have rejected. So that was my lesson, that though Jesus is in heaven to come back again, he still leaves a body, the church, that Christians are to take care of. Praise God!
[Audience]
Hallelujah!
[Speaker 1]
There is a body to cater for. And except we walk in love, you may find yourself not being able to prepare that body for resurrection. Not being able to prepare that body for resurrection. It is important for us to realize that Jesus gave up the ghost, but he left a body that is meant to be prepared for resurrection. And we notice that at the end of the day, like I mentioned last week, he was speaking in Matthew 25. Matthew 25, we read that last week. It's just good to look at that scripture again, that be careful not to be preoccupied with offenses. Be careful to be preoccupied with the needs of the generation that is around you. And that is in Matthew 25 from around verse 31, actually.
He said, "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations, Matthew 25:32, all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats." I want you to note the word, "his sheep from the goats." So the shepherd knows his sheep. He says, "I know my sheep, and my sheep," what do they do? "They know me." In 2nd Timothy 2, what did the Bible say? The foundation of God's kingdom stands sure. And what is having this seal? What is the seal? "The Lord knows those that are his own." How? The Lord knows those that are his own.
In all the confusion going on, I tell people God is not confused. God knows his own. One thing that makes the kingdom stand sure is that God knows his own. Then on the other hand, "Let those who name the name of the Lord depart from iniquity." That's why I tell people if you have not departed from iniquity, you have not even laid the foundation in the kingdom, talk less of building. When God wants to lay any foundational thing in your life, what God first does with a life that is meant for eternity is that God makes that man to depart from iniquity. Once iniquity has not been departed from, the kingdom of God has not started. That's the truth about anything.
So when you see people in ministry, people operating their gift, people doing all kinds of things—miracles, signs, wonders, all of that—what did he tell them at the end of the day? They will say, "I cast out demons in your name, I did that in your name, I prophesied in your name." What was the bottom line? "I don't know you. Depart from me, you workers of iniquity." So if iniquity has not been departed from, no matter what God is doing in your life, you are not part of that kingdom that God is building. That is the reality of it. Nothing has really begun in your life. You may be doing miracles because, like I told us in one of our meetings, I said what? That the kingdom of God is like a net which a man throws into the sea and it catches all kinds of fish. So inside the kingdom, what do we have? All kinds of fish. But how do we know the good fish? They depart from iniquity. That is the truth about it. He said at the end of the day, they will put the good fish into a vessel and the bad ones they will throw away.
So right now, everything will be going together. The pastor that is committing fornication and still doing miracles, his church will still be growing. The Bible study teacher that is full of lust, telling lies, he will still be occupying the office. Everything will be going on. It will look as if no judgment. Everything is just normal. The man of God that is manipulating people to siphon their pocket into his own pocket, the ministry will be prospering. The GO that divorces his wife—"This one is a wizard, she is a witch, throw her away"—and says, "Church, I'm taking another one by tomorrow." "Hallelujah!" The ministry will still be prospering. Crowd will gather. But the point is, iniquity, have we departed from it? That's the issue. The foundation of God's kingdom stands sure. It has this seal: God knows his own. And those who are his own, what do we see about them? They depart from iniquity.
But where we connected the matter last week, I just felt I needed to read this again because we made mention of this verse last week though we did not read it. We did not come to the place. It's that—this is a picture of the end. A picture of the end, when the Son of Man will come and then when he comes, what does he want to do? He wants to separate his sheep. Do you see it? The Lord knows those that are his own. He's going to separate them from the goats. So it means for now, who and who are working together inside the kingdom? The goats and the sheep.
Now, what is one evident thing about goats? Stubbornness. Stubbornness. And what is that relating to? The goat knows this is what you don't want it to do, but the goat will keep doing it. So one thing I know as we begin today, even though just trying to recap last week's trend, but I just felt like saying the things I'm saying now before we zero in into what we want to look at today. One thing I know, the mark of conversion is obedience. Once obedience to God's will is a difficult thing in your life, I make bold to say that you have not experienced conversion. You have not. Because the separation is sheep from goats. What characterizes goats? Several things. But goats, if they say you goat—in fact, they will say you stubborn goat. When they say goat, what people really mean, what that is denoting, is this person is stubborn. When this is it, he does not. So submission to "this is what God says" and committing oneself to doing it.
Because when Christians lie, they know that they are lying. Did Samson not know that he was fornicating when he was fornicating? Did Samson not know that he was not supposed to go with foreign women? When Solomon was marrying foreign women, did he not know that it was wrong? The stubbornness is one thing. That not submission to God's will. I'm just trying to make you understand something about submission to God's will. For me, it's the hallmark of salvation. Once we cannot submit to God's will, I believe that conversion has not really taken place in the heart. It's a different thing from you have not come to understand the will of God.
But when a man knows the will—there are some clear things about God's will. The pastor sleeping with somebody else's wife, does he need the Holy Spirit to say, "My son, my son, my son, this is a sin"? The brother that's living in lust and telling lies and cheating in exams and they call him brother, does he not know? If he does not know, why does he wait that he sees the invigilator coming and he quickly adjusts himself? So there are some outright things we do. You get the point I'm making, there are some outright things people do today and they still label themselves Christian. Yes. But what I want you to see is this point that I'm calling your attention to.
He says, "Look at what he says." He says, "When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then he shall sit on the throne of his glory. All nations will gather before him, then he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on the right hand but the goats on the left hand. Then the King will say to those on the right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundations of the earth. For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty, you gave me drink. I was a stranger, you took me in. I was naked, you clothed me. I was sick, you visited me. I was in prison, you came to me.'"
Then the righteous—please, I want you to notice something. He called them the sheep. Then he now called them the righteous. Are you getting something? "Then the righteous will answer him saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and gave you drink? When did we see you a stranger and take you in, naked and clothe you? Or when did we see you sick or in prison and came to you?'" Then the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of my brethren, you did it to me. You did it to me."
Then he will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels." And that's why I personally believe—I join voice with brethren who said that God never prepared everlasting fire for man originally. It was prepared for the devil and his angels. And who are the angels of the devil? Everybody that does not obey. What makes devil devil? He does not submit to the will of God. It is not that he does not do miracle. Satan does miracle, are you aware? Satan speaks in tongues. Satan has power. What makes Satan Satan is he doesn't submit to God's will.
Now, he said for those ones, "I was hungry, you did not feed me. I was this, you did not..." Now they said, "When?" "When you did not do it to the least of the brethren." Which means, which means what made them unholy was their inability to walk in love. They did not walk in love and that is it about love. Once you don't walk in love, you will not walk in light. You cannot live godly. Once you don't walk in love, you'll walk in darkness. You'll walk in sin. You'll walk in evil. That is it. The walk in love. Because I'm going somewhere that will bring me back to—I want to go to 1st John 4 today. That's where I want to pick the matter from. But I wanted to connect it from here then we'll go there.
You see, it is as we walk in love that we remain in God. That's the point I'm trying to make. As we walk in love, we remain in God. As we walk outside love, we also walk outside God. Every unloving action is an ungodly action. Am I communicating at all? Are you following me? All actions that do not find their expression in love do not find expression in God. All such actions, therefore, they are actions of ungodliness. Unlovingness is ungodliness. So because they did not walk in love in the minutest things—somebody was sick and you just felt, "That is his own cup of tea." Somebody was hungry, you just felt, "Look, fuel price now is 800 Naira. What concerns me and that brother's problem? Let him die in his problem." You get the point I'm making. Somebody is in need of what to drink, what to eat, and all you can say is that, "Do you know the exchange rate now? We are talking of almost 950 Naira to one dollar. You are talking of assisting somebody. Even me, my own life too needs assistance. Nothing concerns me and anybody."
It looks like an unlovely action. That unlovely action is actually an ungodly action. It takes you outside God. That's the point we are making from this place today. That they did not do it to the least of the brethren and what happened to those things? It made them fit for what? Everlasting fire prepared for devil and his angels. They were not walking in love and they became fit for everlasting destruction. So it means every working outside love is a working outside the way, that is Christ. Is a working outside the truth. Is a work away from eternal life to what? Eternal destruction. Anybody who has eternal life in him will walk in love. What I'm saying is that if eternal life is actually in you, that life displays itself in walking in love. So not walking in love is a sign that you don't have eternal life.
Let's see 1st John. Love, the solid foundation for holiness. 1st John chapter 4. Are you there? I want to read from 1st John 4 from verse 6. Maybe we should be able to get the sense. 1st John 4:6: "We are of God. He who knows God hears us. He who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error." We are of God. Those who hear us, they are of God. Those who don't hear us, they are not of God. This is how we know the spirit of error and the spirit of truth. The spirit of truth makes us to yield to the truth. The spirit of truth makes us to listen, to obey. If we refuse to listen and obey to the preaching, the word of the gospel, when we rebel against the gospel, that is how we know if somebody have the spirit of truth or the spirit of error.
It moves on, verse 7. "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God." Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." That's a very big scripture. Now it moves on, verse 9. "In this the love of God was manifested towards us, that God has sent his son, his only begotten son, into the world, that we might live through him." So the love of God is that God sent his son so that we can live through that son. "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be a propitiation for our sin."
We did not love God. This is how we know love. We know love that what God did for us is not because we merit—it was merited. How do we know love? Love is not something you merit. Because many times we normally think people should merit our love. Are you getting the point? He says in this is love. You know we don't know love before. Now God want to teach us love. What do we know to be love? Is give and take. If you are doing your burial, your dad is late, you have lived 80 years, your dad is 120, and you want to bury your father. You send invitation to me. I give you 200,000 so that when I'm doing my own, you will reciprocate. If you don't do, then there is no love. Are you understanding? So it is something that is to be merited.
That's why you notice when you look outside there, the boy is giving and giving and giving to the girl because he wants to get, not because of the boy, not because of the girl, but because he wants to get. And once he gets, what happens? He's through with the girl. Or if he's not through with the girl, he continues with the girl, but he still have another one. That is why people have said today, before people get married, they practice polygamy. Suddenly when they enter into marriage, they want to run monogamy. They have series of girlfriends. And the girls also know that he is befriending one boy, also has series of boyfriend. And then suddenly when they enter into marriage, they now want to run monogamy.
The point that the person is making is that if we have not first submit our life to God to live correctly when we are single, we cannot live correctly when we are married. But the point I'm making is this: what we call love is the spirit of reciprocity. That's what we know to be love. Reciprocity. You must reciprocate or else there is no love. But God now want to teach us love. He said in this is love. You know when he said, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, for everyone who love is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is love." He doesn't want us to think the kind of love we are doing outside is this love that he is talking about.
He now began to explain the love. Said in this is the love, this is the love that we are talking about. The love is that not that we love God. In fact, what are we to God? Enemies. We were his enemies. We hated him. We never wanted him. We crucified him, we killed him. Say while we were yet enemies of God, what did he do? He died for us. Now, that is the love he's talking about. This love I'm talking about is not reciprocity love. This love I'm talking about is a decision of will to deliberately do good, not because it is merited. That is the love he's talking about.
It's not a feeling. The other one we practice is a feeling, but actually from the scripture we know that case actually affection is not love. What we call love most of the time in the world is affection. I have affection for her. Affection, affinity. I have affection. But love have nothing to do with any feeling. Love have to do with a decision, a will, a commitment, a making up of your mind that I will do good to this thing. I will seek the good of this thing by constantly doing good to that thing. He says in this is love. That is the love he's talking about that beloved, let us love one another. For everyone who loves is born of God. Whosoever can live like that is the person who is born of God and knows God.
Anybody that cannot live like that, what happens? He's not born of God. The person does not know God. He's explaining the love because many times people feel we love. This love is not a love of feeling. This is a love that was poured in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. It's not the one we know naturally. It is an enablement, a capacity that comes from where? From the spirit. Now, what I want to say this evening, where I'm pushing us to, is that the Holy Spirit, in order to make us live godly life, pour love into our heart. I'm talking about love as the solid foundation for holiness. If that love is not poured into your heart, you can never be holy. You can't live a holy life because the thing to make you live an ungodly life, they are all around you.
That driver that both of you meet on the road, that you just you are driving your car and just did anyhow and said, "Ah, what's your problem?" "You are a madman. If you talk again, I will slap you, idiot." How do you respond? How do you respond? Will you say, "The Lord bless you"? Will you say, "Just leave him. Father, forgive him. He does not know what he's doing." Is that what you will say? "Me! Your father too!" Hehe, you see holiness is gone. So that love, if it is not there, you cannot be holy. I'm trying to push you, I'm trying to make you understand something about love and holiness. That the life God want us to live is what type of life? We have said that.
You still remember in this topic, the third episode. Please, you can go and listen to it. Because it's a series. We are in the sixth series. Go into the third episode. I said he has redeemed to himself a what? A peculiar people. What make them peculiar? What is the peculiarity? Please go and listen to the third episode. The peculiarity, he said he has redeemed to himself a people, a peculiar people, that are eager to do good. I told that thing in Titus. He says, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared unto all men, teaching us to say no to worldly lust, to live godly in this present life, as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us that he may redeem to himself a people, a peculiar people." What makes them peculiar is that you can be doing them evil, what will they be doing you? Good. That's their peculiarity. You can be cursing them, but they will bless you.
That is how they are the salt of the earth and they are the light of the world. The world is dark. What is the world? You slap me, I slap you, God no vex. Is that not the world? But there are some peculiar people. They are unique species on this planet. It's like when you talk about foreign dogs and local dogs. Local dog you just—the dog will just run away. But there are some kind of dog, if the owner don't take you in, don't enter that compound because they will tear you to pieces. They are not like the normal dogs. So there are some species of people. They are peculiar species of people. This species of people, there is something about them. Something have been redefined inside them. That thing is not natural. That thing is supernatural. That supernatural thing that was introduced to them is what? The Holy Spirit did what? Pour into them what? A kind of love that the world don't know.
This love is not reciprocity love. It has nothing to do with reciprocity. It has to do with purpose. God wants to save us. And what did he do? He purposely died for us. Doing us good so that what? He can redeem to himself. We were not doing him good. When he brought us to himself again, who is he working in us, both to will and to do of his good pleasure? It is still him. Who is making us perfect in order to do his will? It is still him. When we wander and run away, who brings us back? It is still him. When we make the mistake, his spirit will say, "Hey, hey, hey, come back." It is still him. It's an everlasting love, and he has made up his mind that I will raise you on the last day. He says, "Of all that the Father has given me, I will not lose anyone. I will raise all of them on the last day."
So that is commitment. That is what we are talking about. It is that thing that was introduced to us. That is what you call the foundation for what? For holy conduct, which you call holiness. Your conduct cannot be holy without that love. Your conduct cannot be holy. You will bear malice. You will have bitterness. You will be unforgiving. We have talked about that earlier in episode four. Why did he say we must put on fervent charity in preparing for his coming? Because charity guide against bitterness, against anger. Go and check episode four. You see all of that there. Bitterness will be there, malice will be there, anger will be there, unforgiveness will be there. All those things will be there, and those are unholy conduct.
So what God did for us is that he says, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of who? Of God. For whosoever love is born of God and knoweth God." He's not talking about a feeling. No. That thing that is about born of God, you know what God did? God introduced a what? His own type of love into us as what? The solid foundation for what? For godly conduct, which you call holiness. Without that love, conduct can never be godly. That's why you check many homes today, many lives today. It is laced with unforgiveness. It is laced with bitterness. It is laced with this—check many lives today. It is laced with selfishness. Why are people manipulating other people to siphon their pocket? Is that not selfishness? When you are busy preaching, preaching and it looks as if you believe in people, but to enrich your pocket. Are you laboring for them or for yourself? Laboring for yourself and not laboring for anybody.
Go and check within. Go and check within. It comes in so many ways. That's why you take offense when you go and you don't get it back from the people. Why do you take offense? Because actually you were investing. You were not giving. You were doing it for your sake. And so when you don't get it, but when you do understand one thing that God showed me many, many years ago, still from that Luke that we read last week, I got another lesson that changed my life eternally at some point in my Christian growth. It just made me understand some deep lesson. He said a laborer is worthy of his wage. And the question was who am I laboring for? Who are you laboring for? Do you know that the person who you labor for is the one who pays?
So the question is that when you are laboring over people, who are you working for? The reason why you are expecting from them is that you have missed your focus. It is the employer of labor that pays labor's wage. Why do you expect people to pay you? Why do you expect the payment? Are you laboring for them? We have made people the object of our reward. And it's a major problem today in Christendom. It is the employer of labor that pays labor. The Lord now showed me something. After he showed me that, he now took me to that Luke 24. He said all those I labored over were not prepared—it is not in them I made a preparation for he who will bury my body. It was somebody from afar that came to do the burial. You may labor over men immediately around you and nothing may come out from them because the reward, he pays. He knows who to pay and he knows how he wants to pay. Not determining how you will be paid.
"After everything I did for him, he cannot even appreciate. He cannot even do this. And..." you now bear one big bitterness inside your heart. What is happening again? You are going out of holy conduct. Does that make appreciation a wrong thing? No, it doesn't make it a wrong thing. I'm only talking about God searches the intent of the heart. That's what we are talking about. He searches the motive. He searches. And the only way God can help our heart is to do what? To introduce a what? A substance. What is that substance? The love of who? Of God was poured because we don't have it. So that kind of love that is in God was what? Was poured into us by the Holy Spirit.
So we are now to grow. It is to grow now. That love need to grow. Need to have expression. That other one. As that one have expression, the reciprocity love will be dying. That one will be dying. As this one have expression, this one will be dying. And you come to a point where people feel, "Ah, I did not even appreciate this person. I did not even do anything, and he's still doing me good." They will be wondering. Go and check it. If God is to wait for your appreciation for everything he does, you will die. Because there are things that he is doing that you don't even know. Am I correct? So many things God fight for you. In fact, if God open your eyes to see everything that he does for you, you will almost die. Some things that God just prevent from coming your way because the Bible says that God is faithful who will not allow us to be tried beyond what we can bear, but with every trial provide a way of escape.
So there are some things that were coming—"No, this one will break this my child's faith. No way. No, this one, no way." He kept the one that you can bear that came that you saw and then God gave you victory. "Hey! Thank God! I overcame!" What of the one that you could not that God took away from you? You see, I'm trying to just make you understand something about this substance that we are discussing. Love, the solid foundation for what? For holiness. So to be born again, that's why he says, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of who? Of God. Nobody can actually love without God." You know what you can only do? You can only reciprocate. You cannot love. Man don't have the capacity. We don't have it. Where did we lost it? Where did we lost it? That capacity. We lost it in Adam. We were made in his image originally. We were made in his likeness originally. But what happened? We lost it in Adam. That thing we lost it, that life was lost.
And so he came to reintroduce the life. And that is what you call being born again. That's the born again. You have to come back again. That "again" that we are talking about is what? The life of what? The life of love. That is the born again. That's what I'm trying to say. It's not the lust, it's not the reciprocity one. It is a commitment one, the decision one, the will, the purpose one. That is what we are talking about. He says, and in this is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be what? A propitiation for our sin. Look at it. Beloved, if God so loved us, beloved, beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. That is where we were coming from. "I was hungry, you gave me to eat. I was thirsty..." Do you get it now? So we ought. Not we can. Not we may. What is it? We ought. So even when my brother is doing me evil, what is my duty? What is my duty? Love him. Do him good.
Does that sound Christianity? That doesn't sound like what you hear generally. You do good to those who do good to you. Is that not what you hear more generally? Love those who love you, hate those who hate you. But he's talking about the ability to still do good. A people zealous of good work. They are eager. What makes them this species of people, they are eager, eager, restless until they have done good. They are like their master. "How God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and what? Power. He went about doing good." He went about just going about doing what? Doing good. Going about doing good. Going about doing good to the same people that said what? "Crucify him! Crucify him!" Do you know that they will say that? Healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him. For God was with him.
So how do we know—how do we know that God is with a man? He goes about doing good. That's how we know God is with a man. It's not because he's expressing any other thing. No. The first thing is good, good works. Good. He goes about doing good. Zealous of good works. Now, see this love now. Now, look at the verse 12. Look at the verse 12. He said, "No one has seen God at any time." Brother Godwin, have you seen God before? Tell us the truth. You've not seen God before. Maybe Brother Samuel will have seen God. Brother Samuel, have you seen God before? Technicals, have we seen God before? Oh, he says they have not seen God. I thought by technicality, by technicals, you would have seen God in some technical way. Oh, there is nothing like that. Okay. They say they have not seen God. Me too I have not seen God before.
You see, he's pushing us to a point. He's telling us something very crucial. "No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us." Let me take that another translation. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives inside us. What does that mean? We have not seen God before. But if we love another, God lives inside us. Now, let's look at it in NIV. "Whosoever lives in love, lives in God and God in him." The Message: "God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us." Amplified: "God is love. He who dwells and continues in love, dwells and continues in God."
Do you see it? Anybody who don't continue in love cannot be inside God. So get the coming together because I want to close—I want to close on this verse. Always want to finish by 20 minutes after. Get this point as we close this evening. God is love. God is holy. When you dwell in love, you dwell in God. That God that is love is also God who is holy. God is love, God is holy. So love is holy. Am I making sense to you? So what is holy? Love. Love is holy. So anybody who dwells in love also dwells in holiness. As holiness is the nature of God. Bible say God is holy. Just is the same way that love is the nature of God.
That holiness that you see in God is what? Is the radiation of his love. When the love of God radiates, it radiates holiness. When the holiness of God radiates, it radiates what? Love. That is why when God loves, he makes holy. Anybody who abides in God will be holy. So anybody who have met that love will also be in a foundation of what? Departing from iniquity. Nobody can enter that love and remain unholy. It's not possible. It's not possible. The expression of that love is holiness. The expression of holiness is love. They are inseparable. And that is why we have been looking at this series. We'll continue with it next week again. I don't know how we—I don't know, I just at some point we'll conclude it. But I'm just trying to make you see the whole the path to these things, how the Bible ties them together.
And what we are looking at all of these because God gave us a—a direction for this year 2023. What's the direction? "Be ye holy, for I am holy." It's a call to the body of Christ. It's a call to holiness. He's coming. The coming of the Lord draws near. And Bible is saying that above all things, put on charity. Put on love because the coming of the Lord draws near. If you don't—if you don't put on this love, you will not radiate holiness. And without holiness, no man can see God. Support without holiness, no man can see God. Oh, it's love radiates holiness. This love radiates holiness.
It's not a matter of God, give me this your love. It is only when you are not born again that you can pray such a prayer. God, give me your love. No. If you know you are born again, if you are not sure you are born again, then you must pray, "Lord, that I may be born again." To be born again is to get that love. That's the implication of born again. Many times we don't even know what it means to be born again. To be born again is that you are imparted with that love.
What you need to pray this evening is that God—that prayer that the apostle prayed. It is that prayer we are going to pray by the end—the last Monday of this month of September. We are going to pray that prayer more and more. That apostolic prayer that we looked at last week and upper week. Pray that God, that your love may grow. That love that is shed abroad in your heart, that it may grow in understanding. It may grow in—in discernment. It may grow. It is to grow in the love. It's not for the love to be introduced. The love is there. It's for the love to have expression. It's for the love to—to break your self-centeredness, your selfishness, your rebellion. That love to—to overtake you, to grow. That I may grow. That this love may grow. That I may grow. That I may grow.
Our Father, we commit ourselves into your hand this evening. We just pray. Lord, Lord, Lord, open our eyes to see Jesus. Open our eyes, Lord. Open our eyes. Lord God, open the eyes of our heart. Open the eyes of our spirit. Lord that that your love in us may have expression in everything we think, say, and do. That we may walk in love, we may walk in God, that we may walk in holiness, in secret and in open, in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, eternal Father. In Jesus' name.
