(Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory playing)
[Speaker 1]
Church units and fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God greatly desires a godly home. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tent Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.
[Speaker 2]
First, as I said yesterday, when we are allowed to come into the midst of churches like this or a church to minister, we don't take it for granted. We believe it's a real opportunity, and I also see myself as being privileged to be standing before you this morning to bring the word of God to you. And I trust the Lord that as we fellowship together, he himself will bless us in the name of Jesus Christ.
The topic is "She Shall Be Called Woman." She shall be called woman. And if we just look from ordinary casual observation, if you look at the word, if you remove the W and the O, what do you have? Man. What you have is man. So if you extend the man by adding two more letters, you will have a woman.
If you just turn our Bible to something in Matthew 19, I want us to just begin the matter from there before we go to the main text in Genesis. But we just want to look at why we have to go back to Genesis, why we have to get back to Genesis.
In Matthew 19, the Bible says from verse 3:
*The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, "Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?" And he answered and said unto them, "Have you not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female?"* (Matthew 19:3–4)
Have you not read? Jesus was addressing the religious leaders to understand something. And if we have the understanding that Jesus is God incarnate, that's why in some Bible they write his words in red letter. If you look at some Bible. So it's a different thing when somebody is talking about God, and a different thing when God is speaking for himself. That's why some Bible write the word of Jesus in red letter.
Now you see, when he came, he didn't say anything new. He didn't say anything new. What he said was that, "Look, I thought you are learning. I thought you know so much. If you know so much, have you not read? Even if you have not heard, have you not read?" I thought you are people who should know the law, who should know what has been written. So have you not read? [Yoruba: T'e ba gbo se e ka ni?] Have you not read? That he who made them at the beginning made them male and female.
Now, what Jesus wants to drop to you from that scripture is that you will be thinking, if you look at creation and as at the time the Lord was speaking here, if you look at the time in time, you will be thinking God will be saying something new. You will think, he didn't say anything new. What he said was that, "Have you not read that at the beginning?" Don't you understand that he declares the end from the beginning? What he said at the beginning was actually the end. There's nowhere again the issue of man and the woman is going. What was said at that beginning remains the thing. It has not changed.
Why society is trying to look for new ways to run marriages, why modernization is teaching us, particularly the effect of westernization and globalization of Western culture today has brought new philosophies, and we feel, "Wow, let's see." But if heaven is to be open, Baba will say, "Have you not read?" There's no new ways to run it. There's no new way.
And if you go back to that beginning, because we'll be going back very shortly to that beginning where he said, "She shall be called woman." He said, "Have you not read?" I just made a casual observation and said if you extend the word "man" by putting two more letters to get "woman." Have you not read? It means when you say "man," when you extend it to get a "woman," have you not read that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female? Maybe that's not very clear what the Lord is saying. Let me expand you.
Have you not read? You should go back to Genesis. If you take a cursory look and look at that verse by verse, you will notice that it was not man that God first blessed, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply." What was first blessed like that? Animals. He said that in verse 21, 22, when he said, "Be fruitful, multiply, replenish," it was first said to animals.
But if you notice in creation, when God was making the animals, God never mentioned female. He said he made them in their kind. There were female among them, but God never mentioned that he created the female. He said he made them in their kind. But when he came to man, he said, "Let us make man in our own image." And when he was to make them, Bible say, "Male and female," as if God did not create male and female in the animals. It was when he got to man that he said, "Male."
And if you look at it, I like it so much in the old King James. It put it in a way that is very peculiar. Genesis chapter 1 verse 27. Who can just, can we just quickly look at that verse? You will see the way King James put it. It's actually interesting. Other translations try to explain it one way, but it still has the same meaning by the time we interpret. But King James brings out something that is very, very wonderful. Who can read it for us there? Who is there for us? Genesis 1:27.
[Speaker 3]
*So God created man in his own image—*
[Speaker 2]
Now, you say, God created what?
[Speaker 3]
*Man.*
[Speaker 2]
Man in his own image, uh-huh.
[Speaker 3]
*...in the image of God created he him;*
[Speaker 2]
No. In the image of God created he him. Then?
[Speaker 3]
*...male and female created he them.* (Genesis 1:27)
[Speaker 2]
He created he him, and then he created them. I hope you know that in terms of arrangement, Genesis chapter 2 came before chapter 1. Have I said something that is confusing? You know before he blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply," Eve had been created the way it was done in chapter 2. Am I very clear? You know he must have made the male and the female before he now said, "Be fruitful and multiply," because he blessed male and female.
So chapter 2 was actually have been effected before that blessing in 1. The 1 is just a chronological order of things. But in terms of event, 2 had been done before that blessing in 1. I hope I'm clear. Okay. Now, that blessing in 1, I want to explain it.
You will notice that when God wanted to make the woman, what did God do? We all know the story. He took off a bone from the man and then molded around it and then brought it. So actually what was Eve? Eve was just an extension of Adam. Eve was not another creation. They just extended Adam.
The essence, what used to make the woman, the essence. Say, "This is the bone of my bone." It's not a new bone. God didn't make a new bone. It was the same bone. "This is the bone of my bone. It is the flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman." It's not a new one. God only extended the bone.
So Eve was not another creation. He made he him. He now extended him to what? To them. He made he him. That him was what was extended. That him now became them. I want to make you appreciate when he said, "He who made them at the beginning made them male and female." Do you know the implication of that? Let me try to illustrate it. I like illustration. (clatter of footwear) I can't find anybody with a slippers. Wearing slippers? Thank you.
He who made them at the beginning made them male and female. It was a pair that was made. He who made them at the beginning made them male and female. This how it was made. For the animals, they were made in their kind. But for man, he who made them at the beginning made them male and female. This is how it was made.
So whatsoever, please listen, whatsoever invalidates one, invalidates the other. That is why divorce is not scriptural. If I remove this one, (clatter) this can't be the pair. It must be this and this. If you see me in the street and I'm going like this, (shuffling sound) I may say I'm normal. That's why a divorcee is relatively mad. He only think he's normal, he's mad. He who made them... oh, Hallelujah. I'm not to say you new things. I'm only saying what Jesus said.
He who made them at the beginning made them male and female. So when a man says, "My wife is useless," the other one too is invalidated. He's not useful. They were made male and female. She was called woman because she was taken out of the man. The man was extended. So what invalidates a part, invalidates everything.
The reason why this must be very, very clear to us is because many times there are lot of strange things today. You see one thing we need to appreciate about God. We must be we must beware of God's silence. That God don't talk and act immediately does not mean he has changed his mind. You know for how many years Hophni and Phinehas were doing everything that they were doing? Did God say anything? Uh? They were prospering inside the temple.
Error may prosper inside the temple and God may just be watching and you will think it's correct. Eh, I know one man of God that left his wife and put another one and the ministry is growing. Those are the references we are making. Oh! Don't let us be deceived. They prospered for years. They continued. But one day, God arose. And he told their father, he said, "I'm going to judge you. This is the sign. Those two sons, they will die one day. Nobody will grow old in your family. If they manage to grow old, they will be they will either be beggars or lepers. I withdraw my priesthood." They first prospered for years.
So that a matter prosper does not make it correct. Beware of the silence of God. When Jesus was confronted with the matter of "Can a man put away his wife for any reason?" he said, "Have you not read?" And if we are followers of Jesus, what should we be telling men? Is it not "Have you not read?" Are we not followers of Jesus? We are followers of Jesus, and that is the thing that give me problem with Christianity today.
The Bible said, "To this are we called, that he has laid one an example that we should follow in his steps." So Jesus is not interested in pastors, in teachers, in prophets, in prophetesses, in deacons. That's not his interest of Jesus. What is Jesus looking for? He's looking for followers. As we are following him, he may call us to preach. As we are following him, he make some of us pastor. As we are following him, some become bishop. He's not looking for any of those offices. He's looking for followers.
When he was confronted, the Lord said, "Have you not read?" That God's conception of marriage, what God conceived in his mind when God was conceiving marriage, was that God made them in pairs. And haven't made them in pairs, he said... Hallelujah. It did not only do the making, he ordained something. He said, "For this cause," because he made them in pairs. "For this reason, for this reason..."
If it was just a making, it would have been easier to tell, "Okay, maybe that is not his intention." We can just assume that, "Eh, but God may not mean that," but he said! Look at what he said. I get afraid these days because I notice that we no more pay close attention to the Bible. I was with Apostolic Church fellowship on Thursday and I just asked them, "What took Elijah to heaven?" They said, "Chariot of fire." I said, "Are you sure?" They said, "Chariot of fire." I said, "No." They were surprised.
I said, "Go and read your Bible very well. Go and check your Bible." And by the time we started to check the Bible, it was not chariot of fire. Even though chariot of fire appeared, the Bible say it parted Elijah from Elisha and a whirlwind took Elijah to heaven. That's a major problem today. We don't pay close attention to scriptures. We need to pay close attention because in this thing is our life.
The teenagers, the youth, when we were with them this morning, I said I was not up to 20 when in close to 14 hours of a day, not of a week, of a day, I'm reading the Bible. Paying close attention to scriptures. You see God is deliberate with his word. I hope you know that man will give account for every idle word he speaks. Is that not true? So God is not an idle talker. [Yoruba: Olorun ki n soro sa]. When God speaks, there is a reason. He said he who made them at the beginning, because she was called woman. He said haven't make them, he now said, "For this cause, a man shall leave father and mother."
Let me express something. Let me just do it like this. By what condition can your son no more be your son? By what operation your son, your biological son, no more be your son? Is there any operation? Except, God forbid, if he die. As long as he's alive, what of if I come to a law court and they give me a disownment certificate? It's no more my son now. No, that's according to law, but it's still your son. I want to tell you the foolishness of divorce certificate.
I want to explain something to you. I'm challenging so many things that people are saying today and I'm challenging them by the word of God. There is no arrangement under the sun by which you can invalidate fatherhood. Even though you may carry a certificate that it's no more your son. That is to the law, but in reality it's still your son. Now, that cannot be invalidated. But I want to ask you, is a child one with his father? I'm coming to marriage.
I hope you know that science has discovered, that's why I was telling young people about premarital sex. If a man sleeps with a woman, the DNA remains in her and can recover it after almost 20, 30, 30 years can be recovered the DNA.
But when it comes to marriage, he ordained that a man can leave father and mother and be joined to his wife. What binds a man to his wife is not what binds him to his son. I'm a philosopher, but I've come to learn some things under God. Joint to his wife. And I want you to note the way God arranged that statement. A man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife. Which means there must be his wife before there is a joining. It's not just joined to a wife. His! His pair! Check your Bible. His wife.
That is before the joining takes place, there is his wife. Because he's joined to his wife. He ordained what God ordained. We have made our choice, but go and check what God ordained. Do you realize that I was telling the youth. When Eve came to Adam, Adam was fast asleep when Eve was made. That was the Bible record.
The reason why I'm saying what the Bible says is because I've met all kinds of people today. I've met all kinds of preachers. I've met that's why I said that today, strange men, they occupying the central square in many of our churches. Strange men [Yoruba: Awon omo al'emi]. Except we say the Bible is not inspired by God again and we drop the Bible. But if this is the word of God, then let's stick to the word of God! Let's stick to what the this is the word, we are not saying it's a word, it's a word from God. We should revere and reference the Bible.
You see if you look if you ah, I'm drawing our attention to something very, very serious. When Eve was to come to Adam, Adam was fast asleep. That was the record. But when Eve came, Adam said, "This is the bone of my bone." My question is, who told Adam? Who told Adam? He was the only creation inside that garden. The only person he also found himself there because God made him. There was no any other person.
There was no dating as some people are preaching today. Christians date to know their husband, to know their wife. These are strange men. Dating is not a Christian culture. What we know is courtship. There was no dating. There was no boyfriend-ing and girlfriend-ing. But when he saw her, he said, "This is the bone of my bone." How did he know? Nobody could have told him except God. Am I correct? Am I correct?
You know what he's saying there? Before the joining, before a man join himself, he must have received inspiration for his wife. We have passed that level, oh. We can't reverse that again. For those of us who are already inside, there's no going back. It's how do we go forward? But that it has if some of us invalidated that at the beginning, what is important is that the principle will still not change because God ordained marriage. Just like that I didn't know that a bottle contain acid and then I took it and I drank. Say, "Okay, since I didn't know, I won't feel the impact of the acid."
Does ignorance excuse me from that? No. Because many times there are several mismatching, there are all kinds of things and it has become an affliction today in marriage. But even where the matching is correct, there are still some things to learn. Because you will never find a human being without human weakness. You will never find one. There are things I have to adapt myself to and absorb in my wife and there are things she has to absorb in me even though I followed this principle.
But I'm talking of some afflictions that we should not have encountered if the setting is correct. Now, what God ordained is that a man would have had so much fellowship with him. He made them male and female. But the person making a choice is a man. The first thing about a man is that he is an individual who say, "This is a man." What it first means is not money. What it first means is that he has such relationship with God that he can receive directions from him. When a man, a male don't have that, is a he's not a man. He's a monster. He's not a man.
I want us to note that. You see because there will be several issues in life. Let me give you a good example. You remember the case of Abraham and Sarah? About whether Ishmael should go or stay? Uh? You know they could not resolve it. They argued and argued from all point of logic who was correct. Abraham was correct. Sarah said they should take the woman. The son was born at her matter of her own suggestion. In that culture, that was permitted. Is that not true? And so how will you now say the firstborn should be thrown away under what law? What is the justice in that?
The Bible said the matter was grievous to Abraham. Because Sarah was not making sense. If we are all to judge, we will all stand behind Abraham. But Abraham was a correct man. What first make a man a man, he went to his head. Bible say the head of every man is Christ. Any man who cannot relate with God does not have a head. [Yoruba: Ori gba're lo ni]. He's a monster [Yoruba: ko l'ori]. He's a headless being. He's a monster.
Abraham went to his head and he said, "My head, as for me and my position, this is Sarah position." And he said, "Go and listen to Sarah." Do you know nobody could have resolved that issue for them? The reason why several things cannot be resolved in marriages today because men are headless. [Yoruba: Won o l'ori]. [Yoruba: Ele ni kan lo ni]. "I calculate like this, I reason like this, I am just, I am correct, you know, from the point of the law, the law says, eh, Yoruba culture says..." [Yoruba: Gbogbo iyen lo ma d'oju ti].
But we are headless. Men are not growing! And that's what I told the youth. It seems that our youth, our sons will grow up as plant in their youth. [Yoruba: Gbogbo won ti ma d'agba] from their youth. A plant grows downward, it grows upward, it grows sideways. They must have grown, but do you know that many men today have become father, they grew old but they didn't grow up. What first he says, he ordained that a man, not a male. They are just male, they are not men.
So a man is a man because the first thing is that he can discern his wife. He doesn't say, "Ah, in fact, the woman is the woe of man. [Yoruba: Obirin o j'ek'ile aiye yi d'ara]." No! It never come to that level. Because he knew that this is my pair. Any other one cannot fit him. He knew that! He understood that! He was not pushed into it. He was not managed. No, no, no, no, no! It doesn't come to that point. No matter the instability in the woman, he knows this is my pair. [Yoruba: Ti ba gba e n'iba t'ale se ko ni bo dandan, because t'o si mi t'o da bi e].
He knows that at the onset! He gets that clear! He knew that! He understood that! So when he said, "I am leaving my father and my mother to become one with this thing," he knew what he was talking about. But many people at the point of marriage don't know that today. They just feel, "I love this one, let me marry her, I love that one." After some time again, "I don't understand this place. In fact, that is why they said, 'Woe of man, woman,' is woe, is and and and and then people begin to say, 'In fact, [Yoruba: Obirin yen gan wahala po].'" And then people begin to see all kinds of things, particularly there some nasty things in Yoruba culture today.
They begin to promote it and promote it, [Yoruba: eni kan k'en i kan], and all of that and all of that. We'll still come to some of these things. See, I'm not against the Yoruba culture. There are so many good things about our culture, but there are some things that are offense to God. Certain traditions make the word of God of no effect. And we should be able to discern those ones and set them aside. While we take the good ones and absorb them.
Scripturally for instance, a man is not the head of the house. There's nowhere it's written in the Bible. A man is the head of the woman. Christ is the head of the man. So Christ is the head of the house. The Bible says a man is the head of a woman. So the man is not the ultimate authority in the home. Christ is the ultimate authority if that man is not headless. Certain men cannot be controlled because they have no head. They first dishonor Christ before they can do that.
They must first dishonor Christ. And that's why we cannot control them because they are monsters. Pastor can and that is why pastors are having several challenges today. Settle that one, settle this one, settle, settle, settle, settle. I pray under God, you shall be a correct man. You will be a correct man! A man that is a man before God! Indeed! In the name of Jesus!
"She shall be called woman." She's an extension of the man. Why? Because he who made them at the beginning made them male and female. That's what he did. Now, quickly looking at the time I've spent about 30, 35 minutes. I want to show you three implications of that so that we can take questions. Because I know this thing will generate a lot of questions. And I will take the questions as the Lord will help us.
Three implications of that. That she shall be called woman. I've explained the concept "she shall be called woman." Three implications. The first implication is that man is the missing glory of God in the home. Man is the missing glory of God in the home. This what I just said now is a message in itself. Man the missing glory. We have a website. Our messages are free. We don't sell them. Because we enjoy support from various people.
I'll just give you our website, how you can link up. You can download free. Some of the messages are on the website. Man the missing glory is a message on its own on the website. Just download, listen, and can get the full benefit of them. www.familytentministry.org. That's our website. Just click there and then you can download free and listen to many of these messages.
Now, man the missing glory. Now, if we go back to 1 Corinthians chapter 11. Paul now brings it out very well for us. He says, let me try to quote a wrong one. I want to be sure whether you're familiar with the scripture. "As by one woman sin entered the world, and death by sin." Is that Bible? No! By one man! Now, if you go back to 1 Corinthians 11:7. Who is reading that for us? 1 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 7. Can somebody just quickly read that for us?
[Speaker 3]
*For a man indeed ought not to cover his head—*
[Speaker 2]
Now, a man indeed ought not to cover his head. Uh-huh.
[Speaker 3]
*...forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God:*
[Speaker 2]
Oh! Forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God! Uh-huh.
[Speaker 3]
*...but the woman is the glory of the man.* (1 Corinthians 11:7)
[Speaker 2]
But the woman is the glory of the man. That's the scripture, is the Bible. Say a man ought not to cover his head. That's why we men don't cover.
You know some churches don't understand why we need to put scarf. They don't understand that it has generated several arguments. I just felt it's because people are not looking very closely at the Bible. The scarf is still nothing. And that's why some people don't want to put it, but they don't understand that God is a God of type. When God does something that is spiritually significant to him, he create a memorial around it. Go and check the Bible. He rested on the seventh day. What did he do? He established a Sabbath. A physical something to talk about that. Is that not true?
A covenant with Abraham, he brought circumcision. Something physical. Am I not correct? When he made Israel cross the Red Sea, he said they should build a pillar under the sea. Something physical. The scarf is just a physical symbol of something more spiritual. So when our children see Mommy with scarf, say, "Ah, [Yoruba: kilo de]? Why is Mommy wearing it?" Say, "Oh, you don't understand. The man is the glory of God."
We'll be able to tell our children the difference in the gender. That's what I want to show you, the implication of that thing. The man is not an extension of the woman. The woman is the extension of the man.
So the man is the image and glory of God. The woman is the glory of the man. That will be the Bible, oh. I want to explain it to you. That's the first implication. The implication is, yes, a man should not cover a physical symbol on his head. Why? Because the glory of God should not be covered. The glory of God should show forth. [Yoruba: Ogo Olorun o kin farasin]. So the man does not cover.
But I want to talk more about the implication for marriage. Now, the implication of that thing is this. If you enter into any marriage and we can't find the glory of God, it is not a problem of the wife. It has nothing to do with the wife. It's not like in biology. There is no male child, then they are starving the woman and slapping her. Because we don't have understanding.
It is the man that give a Y chromosome for them to have a male. [Yoruba: Ha! Obirin a je, obirin ni ko lo n bi]. She only get back what you give. So you see when men are saying, "In fact, the presence of God is not in this family, this and this and that," it is not a woman's problem. It's a man's problem! It's a man's problem! The man is the image and glory of God. The woman is the glory of the man. When let me illustrate it for you. Those of us in geography. We know that the moon don't have its own light. But the moon radiate. Where does it get its light? Sun.
The woman don't have a glory except the one the man radiate. The woman take her glory from the man. So whatever is manifesting in your home is a product of your spiritual life. It's a man's problem! [Yoruba: E j'e ka t'a d'asinu oro Olorun. E j'e ka wo nkan ti oro Olorun o so]. And you know one thing, I like something in Yoruba. [Yoruba: Oni gba igbala, gba ko la. To ba ti gba o le la. Igbala gba Olorun gbo, igbagbo, igbagbo, igbala. O gba Olorun gbo, o wa je ko la].
If you don't believe God, we cannot make ends meet. In his image we were created. And until we reflect it, we can never find rest. [Yoruba: A ma sare kiri ni]. And that's what people are doing today. Running, running, running, running, it does not get any better for you today. It's not getting better. We cannot abandon God's principle when it comes to marriage. We can do it for politics, oh. We can do it for economy. But when it comes to marriage, forget it. It came out of God!
And if you don't abide, [Yoruba: To ba ti gba o le la]. Say this is a great mystery. [Yoruba: Asiri n la ni]. It's a great mystery. So a man must understand in his house that if I can't find God's presence in this home, it has nothing to do with my wife. There is something spiritually wrong with me. There is something not correct about me. Why is this woman not radiating the glory of God? It's not about her. She's just a moon, you are the sun. Pause!
For Adam was first created before him. That's a significant thing. He was first created before Eve. You know where we like to show that we are men? Eh? When it comes to society. "No, a man should have that, a man..." that's why we want to show that we are men. "Eh, a woman should not go to the altar, it is a man. Eh, a man, a man is the one that should decide how much is to be spent."
But where the work is, we don't go there. [Yoruba: Bi ti ise wa a], we don't go there. We are going for the privileges. There are privileges around it being a man. But if you check spiritual leadership, it's responsibility before privilege. It takes a man that is a head to be the head. You must be a head! So that's the first implication.
If you can't find God's presence, don't begin to blame your wife, blame her, talk to her. No! Bring yourself back to the Lord. Say, "Baba, I don't understand. I am your image and your glory. Look of something about my life. I want my wife to radiate this glory. She's my own glory. If only I can bring your glory, she will radiate it. Lord, please help me." It's not about her. You face God and you bring that glory and see what will happen. We are always trying to change our wife instead of changing ourselves. And when we are changed, eh, we see that our change will change our wife.
The second implication. A man's error ordains error in the marriage. Let me explain that. It's also very, very simple. If you go back to Genesis, you will notice that the serpent came, he deceived Eve. Isn't it? He deceived Eve. Eve took the fruit and ate. When she ate, what happened? She gave it also to her husband.
So I want you to note something. When Eve ate the fruit, nothing happened. Her eyes were not open. Nothing happened to her. So she went to her husband. "Adam see, did you eat?" Because God told the man, "Because you listen to your wife." You know he was not deceived. God said, "Because you listen to your wife," then God also now gave him cane. Because he listened.
The woman said, "Ah, if this is uh God said we should not eat that. [Yoruba: Se b'oni mo je eyi, kilode? Oju wa o ma la ni, nkan o le se wa. Se b'oni mo ti je eyi, kilode? kilode? Is anything happen?]" You you took it, oh. [Yoruba: Ooto ni o. Ooto ni]. Nothing happened, nkan o sele na. Then he now took and ate. Bible says when he ate, the eyes of both of them became open.
She is called woman. She's just an extension of you. So listen. If you go back to Romans chapter 5, Apostle Paul now brings it out very well for us. He says, let me try to quote a wrong one. "As by one woman sin entered the world, and death by sin." What is the Bible? One man! One man! But who ate it first? Woman! So why did sin enter by man? She ate it first. He ate it second.
Look at the arrangement. [Yoruba: Alo k'oko je]. So logically speaking, where did sin enter? Logically? The woman. And then sin now pass to Adam and then all became sinner. God said no! Even though logically it's like that, eh, as far as spiritual matters are concerned, Adam ate first. "As by one man sin entered the world, and sin now pass unto all men." So Eve became a sinner by Adam. Adam was not a sinner by Eve.
I want to make you understand a man, [Yoruba: ta lo k'orin? Okunrin o ki n s'obirin o]. [Yoruba: E ma je k'a ma se bi obirin, okunrin o n s'obirin]. [Yoruba: Okunrin o ki n s'obirin]. Some men have reduced themselves to women. You talk back, you fight back, he no! You are not! There are certain things about us. What I mean is that if for example my wife comes and say, "No! I'm not in this marriage again! I'm going to my parents' house!" As far as God is concerned, nothing has happened. It is a woman who says so, just an extension.
But when a man says that, to by implication for instance, if I enter the house and maybe my wife did not cook. She's the one that caused the problem. I get home I wanted to eat, says no food. [Yoruba: E wo mi o r'aye dana ja're, eyin na dana funra yin]. Who started the problem? Is it not the wife? But the problem has not started until the man responds to that. It is the man's response that will establish the problem.
If she says that, eh, and the man patiently take that, I will not say, "[Yoruba: Emi lo n so sibe yen? Ori e o pe? Omo ale ni e]." Then the problem now start. Even though she starts first, but the man establishes it. So I'm not saying that our wives are completely good. But I'm saying that what establishes error is the way we respond to our wife. It's the way you respond. The way you respond to their errors. The way you respond to their mistakes. The way you respond to it! That instead of establishing it, it will quench the fire of that thing.
Do you know if Adam did not eat that fruit, the eyes of Eve would not be open? Hallelujah. Adam did not eat it. Because it takes him to eating it for the sin to enter. Error have occurred, but it has not entered into human race. It takes the man to make it enter into the human race. It only stop at the bus stop of the woman. That is what God will need to manage. But will not enter the human race.
I'm just showing you how your action and inaction can establish divorce, can establish putting away, can establish your action and inaction. What you do and don't do in terms of what your wife do and does not do. In terms of your response! Your response to many things in the home. Many things you are blaming her for, you are the one that established them. Yes, she started them! Although in some home, it is even men that start. Am I correct? In some home it is the man that will start it.
Let's make it more practical. If for example you want to pick your phone and it fell down. You don't tell yourself, "[Yoruba: Ori bi ori e ti daru, omo ale ni e, oloribu]!" before you pick your phone. Do you tell yourself that? No way. You will just pick it. [Yoruba: Se o jabo ni]? And then you will go on. But if it was another person like that, "Ah! [Yoruba: S'o o f'ojudi e ja're]?" because you don't know that she's you. You are only insulting yourself.
You only insulting yourself. You are showing that you are blind. [Yoruba: O ti show pe o o rina]. There's something is wrong with your vision. Something is wrong with your vision. That is why Apostle Paul said, eh, if you look at Ephesians chapter 5, verse 28. Can we all read together? It says, "So ought men to love their wives as... as what? Their own body." [Yoruba: Se emi lo so, sa? Oro Olorun ko le leyi? Oro Olorun ni]. "Men ought to love their wives."
Please, what how is "ought" different from "shall"? Say, "ought." It should be, what it should be. You don't have option. A man ought to love his wife as his own body. For he who loves his wife... now, can we extend that statement? He who curses his wife, curses himself. He who reuse his wife, reuses himself. He who molests his wife, molests himself. He who march on his wife, march on his... he who blesses his wife, blesses himself. He who lifts up his wife, lifts up himself. He who tolerates his wife, tolerates himself. That is just it. That is the word of God.
So when you see a man finding it difficult to tolerate his wife, when you find it difficult, [Yoruba: se o n se bayi? Se o n se bayi]? And you know the way we fight? You want to flush, and you the place... there's a blindness somewhere. If a man says his wife is mad... what is the implication? The man is mad! It's just the Bible. This is just the scripture. And what I'm saying is that it is we that should preach this to the world. Unfortunately, it is the world that has given us their own principles. As if marriage was ordained in the world and not in the Lord. [Yoruba: E j'e k'a pada sinu oro Olorun. E j'e k'a wo nkan ti oro Olorun o so].
So a man must understand in his house that if I can't find if we can't find God's presence in this home, it has nothing to do with my wife.
Eh, a man, a man is the one that should decide how much is to be spent." But where the work is, we don't go there. [Yoruba: Bi ti ise wa a].
Lord, please help me."
It's not about her. You face God and you bring that glory and see what will happen. We are always trying to change our wife instead of changing ourselves. And when we are changed, eh, we see that our change will change our wife.
The third implication is that the woman is hence the man. Since she's not another creation, it is the bone of his bone, it is the flesh of his flesh, it's hence the man. I want to explain it to you and let me show you how you know that you don't understand this in terms of everyday usage. Look at this illustration the Lord gave me. I can't remember exactly when the Lord told me, listen to the realization this thing in the practical application.
But at a point in my marriage, I got to see it very much more clear. We've not been married for too long, we've just about 21 years of marriage. The illustration is this. If you enter into the toilet and you want to use the toilet, and the immediate user before you did not flush. What happens when you get there to use? You are repelled. Am I correct? But if you must use, what do you do? You flush and flush, you wash and most times, you try to block your nose. Am I correct? [Yoruba: Eni iyawo nu lo bi eleyi? Why didn't the person flush]? And you be complaining inside.
After you have done all the cleaning after maybe eight or nine times of washing, you will now sit down to use the toilet. As you sit down, what will come out of you is the same thing that you met. But you know that this time, you will be comfortable inside. You will be making calls. "Hello? Hello? Yes, [Yoruba: E m'o wa n toilet, mo n bo, mo n bo. E j'e ki n]..." It's the same smell! And you are inside! So what happened? Which means actually you could tolerate the other one.
What is making you so offensive is because it is not your own. A man that cannot tolerate his wife is blind to the fact that the woman is the man. Something has happened to his sight. Something has happened. [Yoruba: Nkan kan ti sele]. If nothing had happened, if he knows he's him... that is why you notice that let's make it more practical.
But if it gave to another person like that, "Ah! [Yoruba: S'o o f'ojudi e ja're]?" because you don't know that she's you.
You are only insulting yourself. You are showing that you are blind. [Yoruba: O ti show pe o o rina]. There's something is wrong with your vision. Something is wrong with your vision. That is why Apostle Paul said, eh, if you look at Ephesians chapter 5, verse 28. "So ought men to love their wives as... as what? Their own body." [Yoruba: Se emi lo so, sa? Oro Olorun ko le leyi? Oro Olorun ni].
"Men ought to love their wives." A man ought to love his wife as his own body. For he who loves his wife, loves himself. He who curses his wife, curses himself. He who molests his wife, molests himself. He who blesses his wife, blesses himself. He who lifts up his wife, lifts up himself. He who tolerates his wife, tolerates himself. That is just it. That is the word of God. That's the word of God.
So when you see a man finding it difficult to tolerate his wife, when you find it difficult, [Yoruba: se o n se bayi? Se o n se bayi]? There's a blindness somewhere. If a man says his wife is mad, the implication is that the man is mad! It's just the scripture. And what I'm saying is that it is we that should preach this to the world. Unfortunately, it is the world that has given us their own principles. As if marriage was ordained in the world and not in the and not in the Lord. [Yoruba: E j'e k'a pada sinu oro Olorun. E j'e k'a wo nkan ti oro Olorun o so].

That's a significant thing. He was first created before Eve. You know where we like to show that we are men? Eh? When it comes to society. we have last amen.
But where the work is, we don't go there. [Yoruba: Bi ti ise wa a]. We are going for the privileges. There are privileges around it being a man. But if you check spiritual leadership, it's responsibility before privilege. It takes a man that is a head to be the head. You must be a head! So that's the first implication.
