Securing Your Future

[Music plays] [Narrator] Church and fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God greatly desires a godly home for these. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tents Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen. [Speaker 1] The peace that comes into the matter of future. So when you bring the two things together is taking steps so that as you grow older you will not have reason, you will not have reason to say, "Oh, had I known." So that tomorrow you don't look back at your life and have a sense of, "Oh, I wish it went this other way." Now, so we now want to look at these things I want to consider about this matter of future. First thing I want to consider about this matter of securing the future is that no human being has the capacity to by himself secure his future. No human being, there is no human being. You will say, "Ah, why is this so?" I will show you two points in the scripture, two places in the scripture, two references, just to make you see that you see no human being have the capacity to secure the future for himself. Now look at Jeremiah 10, that's the first scripture, verse 23. Jeremiah 10:23. Let's see that scripture. Let's see what the Bible says in that place. In 10:23, Jeremiah said, he said, "O Lord, I know the way of a man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps." That is New King James Bible. Let me read it in New Living Translation. "No one is able to plan his own course." No one is able to plan his own course. The course we are talking about direction. We're talking about direction. Jeremiah said, "I know." I want you to look at the Word of God. Jeremiah was a young man that was raised by God to be a prophet to Israel, and he was saying that, "I know, Lord, that a person's life is not his own. No one is able to plan his own course," that is direction. No one can plan his own direction. I take the next one, NIV. NIV says that same Jeremiah 10:23, "I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own. It is not for man to direct his step." Are you seeing something? Man cannot direct his step. Every time I think about this thing, this incident normally just come to my mind. Two incidents, one that I read in a book written by Elder Tunde Adeshida, *Divine Relocation*, and then another one was something that happened personally that happened just around not too long, recently where I work. Now in that book that I read, they were talking about some brothers that got to a checkpoint and the police officer asked them to park. They parked by the checkpoint. Later, another police officer came to them and said, "Look, this place that you have parked, I don't like it. Move to that direction after the checkpoint and park." They all went, they moved, they parked. When they parked another police officer came and said, "Why are you people parked there? Move back and go and park at this other side." One of them who happens to be a Christian brother anyway, just obeyed, he moved from that direction and then he parked. The other people were busy arguing with the police officer. "Ah-ah, you move us here, you move us here, you move us here." While they were doing that, a truck went out of control, ran into the people that were arguing and the officer. All of them died. Now, what I want to say is this, I'm trying to show you when the Bible say, "It is not for man to direct his own step." If man can direct his own step, all of them would have moved from that place because they would have directed their own steps. But they didn't know. That's why they were busy arguing. The only person that moved was the one that did not die. I'm trying to make us see that man cannot direct his own step. This one happened around where I work. We were preparing for our exam, our students were to write exams. So everybody around business centers making photocopies, getting ready for the exams and all of that. There was this student who happens to be the child of my neighbor. She was also in the business center with her friend where they were making photocopies and getting ready. And then anyway she was through, she walked off the business center to a point. She had not gone too far from that business center when a trailer left the main road, ran into the business center and killed several people. My point is that if those people that were in the business center and that student that died, that friend of my neighbor's daughter that died, if they could direct their step, would they be in that place that moment? They would not be there. Now I read the same thing in The Message translation. The Message says, "I know, God, that mere mortals can't run their own life, that men and women don't have what it takes to take charge of life." Mere mortals can't run their own life. What I'm trying to say is that the first thing to understand about securing your future is to know that you don't have the capacity to run your life. That's the first thing. If you want to secure your future, the first thing to realize is that you don't have the capacity to run your life. Once you don't realize that, there's already a problem. Mere mortals, he say, "I know, God, that mere mortals can't run their own life, that men and women don't have what it takes to take charge of life." The first thing you must know as a young man, as a young girl, as a young woman, one thing you must quickly know is that I don't have what it takes to run my life. That's the first thing. That's the first thing. I'm talking about securing your future. How do I secure my future? The first thing to realize is that if I want to secure my future, I need to know that as a man, I don't have what it takes to run my life. That's the first thing. That's the first thing. If you don't come to that realization, you'll be committing a lot of blunder. You'll be doing a lot of things. The second thing I want to show, I said I want to show you two scriptures because I said the first thing about securing your future is to know, is to understand where you fall, understand where you fall. Now if you look at that Jeremiah, it also said that I know that man's life does not belong to him. A man's life does not belong to him. I will expatiate on that later. Let's look at another scripture, another scripture in John, John chapter 1. John chapter 1, I will read verse 1 to 4. He says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was nothing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines into darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." I want us to look at something, I want us to look at something quickly from this verse of the scripture that we read. He says that in the verse 3 he was talking about creation, that everything was made through him. "Him" here is talking about Jesus Christ. He said he was in the beginning with God. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. There was nothing made that was made except through him. The Bible now says, "In him was life. That life is the light of men." I want you to notice that. The life of Jesus is the light of men. As a young person, I want you to understand this truth. I will use something to illustrate it for us. Now if I ask you with what do you see? With what do you see? You will tell me that it is with your eyes. Is that not? But look at something. If your eyes are wide open in the dark, will you see? If you open your two eyes wide, but everywhere is dark, will you see anything? You will not see anything. Now imagine that inside that dark thing, five balls: green, red, black, blue into the dark room, then you are asked to pick out the red one. Will you be able to pick it? What you will do is guess work. If you want to be sure of what you will pick, what will you do? You will look for light. You say, "Give me torchlight." Then you will put light. With that light you will now see, "Okay, this is the red one." You say, "I am sure I pick the red one because there was light." Now look at what the Bible is saying. The Bible says, "In him was life, and the life is the light of men." Are you getting that? The life of Jesus is the light of men. What I want you to see, number two, is that the light for your life, you don't have light. Your life is inside darkness. The decisions that you are making, you are making them inside darkness. You are trying to choose inside darkness. You are making choices inside darkness. If Jesus is not in your life, the decisions that you are taking is like somebody trying to make choice inside darkness. I want to ask you what kind of decision would somebody be making that is taking decision? He's choosing a job inside darkness, he's choosing a person inside darkness. That person will be choosing by guesswork. Am I not correct? That is how many people are living their life today. If you ask them, ask young men, which course do you want to read? "Anyway, my friend told me that computer is good. Maybe I will go and do computer." "I even learned that I should go for medicine." "Then no, I think pharmacy is better." They are just doing guesswork. They are just guessing. You see the problem is that there is no light. There is no light. The light of a man's life is Christ. For a young person to be able to decide and decide correctly, he needs light. Without light, look at anything. Do you notice that even if you are inside the house and NEPA takes light, what do you do? You go and on light. Because you can't really do anything inside darkness. You may say, "Okay, they have taken the light, no problem. We'll be reading for my exam inside the darkness." And you're reading for an exam. "Let me continue to wash my plate inside the darkness." At the end of the day, what will be what you will have? Those plates, will they be clean? That book, will you have read? That is the decision of a man who is living his life without Jesus. Because the Bible says, "In him was life, and that is life." You need light as a young person. I am discussing with you as a young man, step to securing future. If you want to secure your future, the first thing I said you must realize you don't have the capacity to run your life. Number two, you must realize that Jesus is the light of your life. Jesus is the light. There is this thing they normally say among I don't know whether it has become culture anyway. I'm speaking from the point of the Yoruba people, being a Yoruba person. They will say *oja okuku ni* marriage. Have you heard that word before? You have heard it before. What does it mean? What does it mean to you? "Whatever you see there, just take it like that." You don't even know what you are carrying. Now I want to ask you, I want us to look at it practically. The person who is choosing who wants to choose, he needs a green ball. But he want to choose it inside a dark room without light. For that person, is it not *oja okuku*? Is it not a market that is taking place in darkness? Now, the person that want to choose, will he be sure of what he want to choose? What I'm trying to make you see is that it is because culturally people have not come to know Jesus. That is why they concluded that marriage is *oja okuku*. If you have Jesus in your life, Jesus will help you to choose with certainty. You will not be doubting what you are choosing. Jesus can help you because he is the light of your life. It is because there is no light. That is why it becomes a trade in darkness. But it can be a trade in light. And in light, you can be sure. "I need a red ball." Once they put light, wouldn't you be sure of choosing a red ball? You can be sure. And that light of your life is who? Is Jesus. So I'm telling you the second thing you need to do is that if you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus, you are not securing your future. If you don't have a personal relationship, a relationship where you share relationship with Jesus, you have given your life to him, you are working with him one-on-one, and Jesus can speak to you, he can send you on an errand, he can tell you, "do this," he can tell you, "do that." If you don't have such a relationship with Jesus, then there is a big problem. There is a big problem if you don't have such relationship with Jesus. So if any young person, if any young man, any young woman, trying to secure his future, "I want to secure my future, I want to be sure that in later life I will not have regret. I want to be sure that in later life I will not look back and say, 'Hey, had I known, had I known. I wish I did like this. I wish oh, if I have known, I would have done like this. If I have known, I would have done like this.'" I'm dealing with this thing that we are discussing: securing your future. Number one, understand you don't have the capacity to run your life. Number two, you must understand that Jesus is the light of your life. Jesus is the light. Without Jesus, your decisions are in darkness. And I want to give you a good example of this thing. I remember that by the mercy of God, I met Jesus when I was around age 17. Going when I have this personal encounter with Jesus. There was no preacher that day. It was an encounter with him. That encounter inside my room, that encounter that day began a new direction for me. Now, it was just after I was leaving secondary school, it was just after I was leaving secondary school, I was already wanting to write JAMB and all of that. Do you know one interesting thing about this matter of making choice is that as at that time, my parents wanted me to go for accounting. In fact, I was already reading accountancy in Federal Polytechnic, Ado. And then but I was relating I'm talking about the light of your life is a personal relationship with Jesus. Anybody who does not have that, his life is in darkness. He's making choices in darkness. So it was in that relationship, just doing my quiet time, relating to Jesus, the Lord instructed me that I'm not to be an accountant, that I'm to be a sociologist. Do you know I told my parents that I will not be doing accounting? I want to be a sociologist. My parents fought tooth and nail. Friends, colleagues, because as at that time accounting was the reigning thing. Accounting was everybody account. People were telling me that look, once you do accounting, with accounting, once you become a chartered accountant, you have your own chamber, you can employ people, employer of labor, all kinds of things were said. But the more I look at Jesus, the more Jesus say, "Son, if you want to secure your future, don't do accounting." I remember that morning, I was at Federal Polytechnic Ado, it was my second year now. I resumed for the second year. We were doing our registration. On the registration line where I was registering, the Lord came to me again. He said, "Son, I have said you should not read this thing. Okay, if you feel you want to do it, you can do it. But know for certain that you will perish." That was the day, that day, all my loads, everything, I left the Polytechnic. I left the Polytechnic and came back home and said, "Sir, that JAMB that I wrote to resume in Benin is what I will go and do. I'm not going for accounting." Okay, my dad said, "Okay, let's look at it that way." But you know one thing I want to tell you? Do you know that at the end of the Sociology, at the end of the four years, University of Benin, and I came out as the best student from the department. My family members came around me again said, "Ah! Thank God! Hey! This is wonderful! This is in fact, thank God you went for this." Are you seeing light? I pray that your life is not managed by crowd. May you have a personal sense of direction for life. And I'm talking about a direction that comes from a walk with Jesus. The Bible says in John that verse 4 says, "In him was life, and that is life is the light of men." Without Jesus, you don't have light with which to walk. That is, there is nothing to give you direction. And like I normally say, between speed and direction, which one is more important? If a man have a lot of speed, but he does not have direction. Just imagine that he's going and then when he gets to the turn towards instead of he gets to Ore, he's supposed to turn towards Sagamu, then he turns towards Benin and he's going at 180 kilometer maybe per seconds. After the journey of three days, will he be close to where he's going? So direction is more important than speed. The first thing to get for your life is direction. And what I'm trying to say that Jesus is your light. So the first thing about securing your future, know that you don't have the capacity to run your life. Number two, you must realize that Jesus is the light of your life. Jesus is the light. Now I made mention of something. I said when I say Jesus is the light of your life, what I mean by that is that Jesus is the one that is speaking to you, that is fellowshipping with you. You'll be saying because there are so many things about this thing. Some people think that once they are in church, they have Jesus. No, that's not what it means. You may be in church and not have Jesus. There are people who are popular in the church, but they are strangers to Jesus. When I'm talking about having Jesus, I'm talking about a personal encounter that brings you into a working relationship with him. Because if you look at, I want you to look at something in John again. John 10:10, that's a very popular scripture. We should be able to quote that offhand. Let's go together. "The thief cometh not, but to steal, to kill, and to destroy. But I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it abundantly." Am I correct? Please check. I hope I'm correct because none of you was quoting with me. All right. Now look at something. I want you to look at that verse. It says, "The thief cometh not but to steal, to kill, and to destroy. But I have come that you may have life." So the primary reason for which Jesus came is to give us life. I want you to note that. He said, "I have come that you may have life." And how will you have that life? "That you may have it abundantly." So when Jesus is in a man's life, what Jesus is offering that man is life. Don't forget, we said that that life is what? Is the light of men. Light helps men to see. Without him, men don't have life. They can't see because without light, you cannot see. You can't see where you are going. You can't see what you are doing. Now look at something. Look at something. John 6:63. John 6:63. John 6:63. Are you there? John 6:63. Are you in that place? John 6:63. Can you see what the Bible says in that place? Jesus is the one speaking again. What did Jesus say? He said, "It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profit nothing." Now, what is the last thing there? "The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life." So if Jesus wants to give any man life, what will Jesus do? He would speak. The point is that except you have relationship with Jesus where he speaks to you, you cannot have life. You cannot have life. That life that he comes to give you. That is why I said it's not just being inside church. I was telling some people for about 15 years of my life, I was inside church. I was in the choir, I was in the prayer unit, I was in evangelism unit. We will go, we will go, we will do crusade, do everything. While choir ministration is going on, I'll be writing love letter. I was in the church, but I was a stranger to Jesus. So it's not about being in church. It's about a relationship, a relationship with someone where you speak to him and he speaks to you. A relationship with someone. I'm talking about a personal, passionate, intense, continuous fellowship with Jesus. A personal, it must be personal. That fellowship must be passionate. That fellowship must be intense. That fellowship must be fervent. That fellowship must be continuous. That's what I'm talking about. That kind of fellowship where the Lord can relate to you, where the Lord can relate to you, where the Lord can relate to you. It's very, very, very important. That's step three. Step number four. Step number four. Securing your future as a young person. Securing I'm talking about how you can secure your future. How do I secure my future? Look at something in Proverbs. Proverbs chapter 1. Proverbs chapter 1. That's another very, very popular scripture. Proverbs chapter 1. It says Proverbs 1:7. It's a very popular scripture. I believe we can quote that one too offhand. *Iberu Oluwa ni ipile ogbon.* He says the fear of the Lord is what? The beginning of knowledge. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Are you following something there? I'm talking about the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord. You'll be wondering what I'm trying to bring together. The fear of the Lord. The beginning of knowledge. But the Bible says, but fools despise what? Wisdom and instruction. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Now look at something. Job 28:1. Job 28, I will just read a few of the verses from verse 1. He says, "Surely there is a mine for silver, and there is a place for refining gold." Is that not true? That is there's a place where you can find gold and silver. "Iron is taken from where? From the earth." It's telling you where you can get iron. "And copper is melted from what? From ore." "Man puts an end to darkness and searches every recess for ore that is in darkness and shadow of death. He breaks open a shaft away from people, in places forgotten by the feet. They hang far away from men. They swing to and fro. As for the earth, it comes from bread, but underneath it is turned up as fire. His stone are the source of sapphire, and it contains gold dust." Is that not it? Now he's going somewhere. It want to ask you a question. It's telling us where several things can be found. Is that not? Now when it move on, it got to verse 12. What did it say in verse 12? "But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?" You want to be wise academically. You want to be wise financially. You want to be wise in your career. You want to be wise spiritually. You want to be wise in which area of your life. He say where can you get wisdom? You're looking for how you want understanding. He say where is the place of wisdom? We know where we can get iron. we know where you can get silver. we know where you can get copper. But the Bible says, "But where can wisdom be found? Where will we found wisdom? Where will we find wisdom?" Look at what it say verse 13. "Its value man does not know it." Man don't know its value. "Nor is it found in the land of the living." That is you cannot even among men you cannot find wisdom. "The deep says it is not with me. And the sea says it is not with me." Verse 15. "It cannot be purchased for gold." There are so many wise so many rich people today that are foolish. Very, very foolish. I can think back to the case of of of some people that have gotten to the peak of their career. Some professors, some this and that, and then you will see them. Look at the case that was read in the paper the other time of a professor that defiled a 100 level student in his in his office. Eventually the whole thing came out and all of that. What is the wisdom in the professorship? What is the wisdom? Is there any wisdom? So it is not he says you cannot buy it with money. Nor can silver be weighed for its price. It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir. The gold of Ophir is precious gold of that time. Verse 17. "Neither gold nor crystal can equal it. Nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold. No mention shall be made of it of coral or quartz. For the price of wisdom is above rubies. The price of wisdom is above rubies." He now ask the question again. "From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding?" The question was repeated again. Where is the place? Verse 21. "It is hidden from the eyes of all living and concealed from the birds of the air." Are you seeing something? Wisdom is what? Is hidden from the eyes of all living. Concealed from the birds of the air. "Destruction and death says we have heard a report about it with our ears." But what does it say in verse 23? What does it say in verse 23? "God understands its ways." He say God understand its ways. May God not be a missing factor in your life. God does understand its ways. And what do you see what's the next thing there? "And he knows its place." Hallelujah! The place where it is, God knows. God knows where it is. "For he looks at the end of the earth." Are you seeing something? Why is God able to know where it is? Why is God able to know verse 24? Why is God able to know? God looks at where? Are you seeing something? The reason why God knows where wisdom dwells is that as you are seated here, as I am standing here, as you are seated here, God can tell you your end. As we are all here, God can tell you what will happen to you in the next 50 years. For example, when I was going for Sociology and people were saying that, "Wo! Your life will become nothing." You know what God told me? As I was wanted to enter because God said, "Choose University of Benin and go and do it there." So first, second, third choice was University of Benin. Course, Sociology, Sociology, Sociology. People said I was mad. That I should have made look for options. I said, "No, this what God said." But you know that at the when I was to at the point where God spoke about Sociology, God said, "Go. I will make you an excellent vine." I already knew the end before I entered. What make God or make God to be wiser than every other counsel that was available then was because he knows the end. What I keep telling people, God is our source. *Amobobani t’o ba d’odo, to ba gbagbe orisun e, o ma gbe.* When a river is cut from the source, it's just a matter of time. It may still be flowing, but it will dry. Nobody can secure a future outside God. No, it's not you see, the wisdom you need for your life is inside God. Do you know why? Because he knows the end. Now, for example, maritally. Why is God the only one that can be wise? Because at the point where I want to marry the lady, God can tell me the end. That is why it will not be *oja okuku*. The Bible says, "For he looks at the end of the earth." He looks at the end. Because eventually it is how a man ends that matters. *Oti lowo lowo lowo tele, ounje kinikon,* he's eating this, he's eating sumptuously, he's doing all of that. How did he end? It is the end. And so why not, why not understand that a key thing for your life is to relate with a God who does what? Who looks at the end. When God is advising you, God is advising you based on what? The end. When God is speaking to you, he's speaking to you based on what? *Ibiti o ma jasi.* You know when you cannot see the end of Lazarus and the rich man, and the Lord just says, "My son, my child, don't choose this life, choose the other life." "Ah! Ori mi ko ya. L'oruko Jesu, ori mi ko ya. Eleda mi ko, emi ko." Is that not what you'll be doing? "God forbid! My life will not go like this. My life will not go like this. God forbid! God forbid! God forbid!" That's what you'll be doing. And that is why you notice something very, very important about this matter. Because I'm going somewhere. He says the fear of the Lord that is wisdom. I'm going somewhere about I want to show a very vital step. Now I said the fourth point you need to note. And I'm talking about wisdom, wisdom for life. Now, he has told us that the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil, that is that is understanding. That is understanding. Is that not? Now, look at something. Look at Proverbs, Proverbs chapter 3. That popular scripture. Proverbs 3. I'm reading I'm taking my reading from verse 5. It says what? "Trust in the Lord with what? With all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. Trust in the Lord with all your heart." We're talking about the path of wisdom. The fourth step: ability to work in wisdom. How will I work in wisdom? The path of wisdom that's the first step. This step have seems to have many parts, but it's actually one thing: working in wisdom. Working in wisdom. That is that is I'm talking about the matter of the Lord. He says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear God and depart from evil." Are you seeing it again? That same part of wisdom. So what is this thing trying to show? What is this thing trying to show? What is this thing trying to make us understand? I'm talking about working in wisdom. I'm talking about ability of a man to tremble at the word of God. Ability of a man to ah! in every matter he says, "No, what does God have to say? In this matter, sorry, what does God have to say? In this matter, sorry, the word of God says, so I can't do this. Ah, sorry, the Bible says I can't do this." In every matter. In every matter. He wants to walk in the part of wisdom. What does the word of God say? That is wisdom. "Please, what does the word of God says about this? We will be going sorry, I'm sorry. What does the word of God says about this?" That is the path of wisdom if you want to secure your future. You must know what the word of God says about matter. He says, "In all your ways, acknowledge him." In all your ways. In everything you want to do. What is the position of God? And let me tell you something. Do you know that I'm just trying to make a ratio, it may not be exact. But do you know that 85 percent of what God need to tell us they are already written? If not 90. 85 percent. A young man came to me one time I told you who have been coming for this meeting. He said, "Sir, there are these two jobs. One of them they are paying 350. The other one they are talking about 150." He said, "But I'm just confused right now because I'm wondering which one to take." I said, "Ah, you are confused?" "So what is the?" He said, "Actually sir, we see this one that is said 150. Then 350. Those to take the job, they must not be more than 25 years old. I'm already 27. But the other one, sir, it does not have age limit. So I'm just wondering which one to take. So I'm confused." He said I said, "Is that why you came to me?" I said, "You are not confused. But that you are foolish." He says, "Sir, I don't understand." I said, "Balaam went to God and he said, 'God, the king, King Balak sent for me that I should come. God, should I go?' God said, 'Don't go because those people they are my people. You cannot curse them.' The king now send more people with more money, more honorable. They came. He said, 'Ah-ah, Balak! A whole Balak is calling you to come! You don't want to go! Look at what we want to give you, to the half of his kingdom!' He went back again to God. 'God, that question we were discussing, do you really mean that I should not go?' God said, 'Go. Go. Go.' As he was going, God sent an angel to go and kill him." I said, "Have you not read in the Word of God that all unrighteousness is a sin?" So you want to go and ask God, "God, should I lie about my age or not?" What do you want to go and ask God? "Tell me, should I tell a lie?" Is that what you want to go and ask God? I said, "Young man, in all your ways, acknowledge him." In all your ways, acknowledge him. That is the path of wisdom. I said wisdom in this thing is to go and take the one for 150. You are not confused, you are foolish. He said, "Actually, I was looking at the money." I said, "That is the problem. That is the problem where the problem is. You're looking at the money. But you're not looking at the fact that the Bible says rubies cannot buy wisdom. The value of wisdom is more than money because with the 350, it cannot end well. It is how it will end that matters." And that's what I'm trying to talk about as a young man. If you want to secure your future, you must learn the path of wisdom. Just what the Bible says, let the Word of God dwell in you richly. Colossians 3:16. "Let it dwell in you richly to all wisdom." Let the word of God dwell in you as a young man. Let the word of God saturate your life with the word. Fill it with scripture. The psalmist said, "Your word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you." Psalm 119:9. He said, "Your word have I hidden." He say, "How will a young man make his way pure, but by hearkening to your word?" Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God. I'm showing you the part of wisdom. Saturate your life with the word. *Ki n’Olorun so?* And that is the truth. And I said almost 90 percent of what God need to tell you has been written down. It's just a few things. But I will show you relationship between the two. That may be where I you know I might close the meeting today. To show you a relationship between the two. Then I will go to Psalm 25. Look at John, John chapter 14. John 14. John chapter 14 there. Look at something there, relationship between the two. John 14:21. What did the Bible say? It say, "He who has my commandments and does what? and keeps them. It is he who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my father, and I will love him, and I will do what? I will manifest myself to him." Look at that scripture. "He who has my commandment," talking about the written one. Is that not? "And does what? he keeps them." That the person who does what? who loves him. So the person who is taking that 90, storing it in his heart, following it, is the person who loves God. He say, "He who loves me will be loved by who? by my father. Me too I will do what? I will love him." What will now happen? "I will reveal myself to him." I'm showing you something. Do you know that when you don't acknowledge God in all your ways in that which he has spoken in his word, you deprive yourself of Jesus speaking to you? He say, "It is he who has my commandment and keep them that I will love and I will reveal myself to him." See, what I'm trying to say is this: if you are not faithful with the written word of God, you close your life against the spoken word of God. If you are not faithful with the written word of God, you close your life against the spoken word of God. *Aye re, ninu ohun to mo se ninu aye re,* you will not be receiving inspiration from God. Inspiration! God will not be inspiring you. You will not be receiving inspiration because you have a wrong attitude towards the written word of God. When you have a wrong attitude towards the written word of God, you close your life against the spoken word of God. That is why you will come anytime ask them, "Bro, how are you?" Say, "Ah, in fact for the past three years, I've been praying about who I am to marry. God has not spoken to me." I said, "Go and check your life. Have you been faithful to the written word?" "I've been talking to God, God is not answering me." Who told you? If God allow the word of God to dwell in you richly, go and be acknowledging God in all your ways and see if Jesus will not reveal himself to you. He will reveal himself to you. He will reveal himself to you. And if you look at that again, Job 32:8, just quickly there, 32:8. Look at what the Bible says there. Look at what the Bible says in Job 32:8. What do you see there? What do you see in Job 32:8? It says what? "There is a spirit what give him understanding? The breath of the Almighty does what?" So a life that do not receive the breath of God cannot have understanding. And so when you have the wrong attitude to the written word of God, you close your life against the breath of God. People will be jumping from pillar to post. *Ori oke yi, ori oke yen.* I'm not against going to pray on mount if you want to pray on mount. I'm not against that, but I know God is everywhere. God is spirit. He said neither in Jerusalem nor in the mount will you go and worship God. He say God is spirit. And he seek who? Those who worship him in what? In spirit and in truth. Now you recognize that God is spirit, he's everywhere. You acknowledge him everywhere. *Kosi nibiti Olorun kosi.* You don't need somebody to monitor your life. Everything you want to do, no, I know God is here. I know God will not want me to do this. No, the word of God. You're always conscious of him. That's what it mean to worship God in the spirit. Everywhere you are. You are conscious that God is here. In anything you want to do, in an examination hall, you don't need the invigilator to help you from stealing. You know God is God is here and God don't want unrighteousness. You are conscious of him. God is spirit. He seek those to worship him in spirit and in truth. That is what he seek. Worship him in spirit. Worship him in the truth. The truth is the word of God. *Nkan t’Olorun so.* You and you see the more you do that, the more you open your life to inspiration. I want to say *mi si, imisi Olorun, imisi Olorun kon kon ma fo lori.* You need if you worship God in spirit and in truth, you open your life to inspiration. Jesus said I will reveal myself to you. Open up your life to receive inspiration so that you can have understanding. This inspiration, "Ah! Samuel, ma se bayi, se bayi." "No, Gloria, ma se yen, ma se ni yen. Ma se ni bayi ni k'o se se." What is that? Inspiration. "Gloria, ma fe ni yen, baba eni k'o ma fe ni yen." "Iro, ma gbe l'Abuja, lo gbe l'Eko." That is what we call that is light! That is what brings men to fulfillment, securing your future. But many times today, young people close their life against inspiration because they have wrong attitude to the word of God. They close their life. *Kosi iyen ni t'o ma fe mi. Mommy, e bami gbadura si.* They are running from pillar to post. Don't close your life to inspiration. Open up your life by living correctly. Open up your life to inspiration. I will end with this scripture. I will end with this scripture. Psalm 25 verse 12 and 13. That's where I'm ending today. Want to close the meeting. Psalm 25 verse 12 and 13. Are you there? Look at what the Bible says. What do you see there? He say, "Who is the man that does what? that fears the Lord?" That is he's working in the part of what? in the part of wisdom. Is that not? What does it say? "Him will he do what? will he teach in the way he shall what? he shall choose." What will happen to him in that way? "He himself shall dwell in prosperity and his seed shall inherit the earth." Are you seeing that? I read that same to you in New Living Translation. "Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose." You see it? Every path is not meant for you. Every path is not meant for you. He will tell them. He will know their beginning from their end. He knows the path you need to choose. He know the one you need to choose. So he will tell you for others who don't fear him, they don't have this privilege. They will just be in darkness because they can't see. They'll just be choosing. They'll just be "Ah!" but go and check what their end becomes. So he say he will choose in the path that he should choose. And when he lead them in that path, what will happen to them in verse 13? "They will live in prosperity. Their children will inherit the Promised Land." You see it? That is the real thing about securing your future. Understand that number one, you don't have the capacity to run your life. Number two, you need to know that Jesus is the light of your life. You need to commit that life to Jesus. Number three, you need to know that it's not just as if being a church person. I'm talking of a personal, passionate, intense, fervent, continuous relationship with Jesus. I'm talking about also that there is a need to walk in the path of wisdom. You need to walk in the path of wisdom. When you take these steps, when you take these steps in life, you will see that you will have direction for your life. Young people, you need direction. You need direction for your life. Saturate yourself with this thing. Begin a relationship with Jesus that is personal, that is passionate, that is intense. Live for Jesus everywhere you go. Acknowledge him in everything you do. Jesus does not want this, I'm sorry. Because sometimes when you look at men that fill inside the church today and they are still fornicating, I wonder what where is Jesus in a life that forn-? where is the place of the word of God? When the Bible say flee fornication and you have a population inside the church living in fornication. Where is Jesus in that life? I want us to begin to pray. I want you to talk to the Lord for your own life. I want you to pray. Talk to the Lord for your own life. Pray and talk to the Lord. God, that I may walk in the path of wisdom. Lord, that I may properly secure my future. Lord God Almighty, help me to take proper steps about my future. Lord God Almighty, help me to be wise about my life. I'm not just anybody on the street. I don't just want to live like anybody on the street. No, no, no, Lord. No, no, no, no. I am going somewhere. My future is bright. I am getting there. I am entering into everything that God has for me. I'm going to maximize my life. I'm going to maximize my future. I'm going to live a fulfilled life. My life shall be fulfilled. I will fulfill purpose. My life will not be cut down. It will not be cut short. In the name of Jesus. I am going somewhere and I'm getting there. I'm going to be all that God wants me to be.
