Teach Us to Number Our Days

Oh for your goodness Father Baba baba o ese o Baba. Awa dupe o ese o Baba. Baba baba baba wa dupe Baba. Lord indeed we are grateful unto You. We thank You for Your mercies. We thank You for preservation. We thank You for peace. We thank You for rest. We thank You, Oh Lord, for Your faithfulness. If it had not been on account of Your mercy, we wonder how things would have looked like. Lord, we bless You. We appreciate You, Lord God Almighty, as we gather again unto You for another time of discipleship class. We bless You, Lord, as we fellowship one with another and as we fellowship with the scriptures. That Lord, You will work in our midst on account of Your mercies in the name of Jesus. Lord, You will meet us where we need You most on account of Your mercies in the name of Jesus. Lord our God, Your instructions will come to us. Light will come into our darkness. Lord, Your strength for our weaknesses in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Everlasting Father. Blessed be Your holy name, our God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Last week, it was a time we were sharing a burden together. And the basis of that burden is John 3:1-12 where Jesus was having a conversation with Nicodemus. And the basic thing that we told ourselves last week was that it is so crucial that we seek to have a deeper fellowship with God. The incident in John 3, the Bible says there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered and said, "Are you a teacher in Israel and do not know these things? Most assuredly, I say to you, we speak what we know and testify to what we have seen, but you do not receive our witness. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?" And that was our discussion last week. That Jesus was trying to explain earthly things to Nicodemus, things about his salvation, how he can be saved. And Nicodemus was struggling to understand it. Jesus then said, "If I'm telling you earthly things and you could not understand it, then if I now begin heavenly things, how will you understand?" And then we told ourselves last week, where are you today as a believer? Have you been able to understand earthly things? For example, the purpose of God for your life. Some are still struggling to understand that. Some people are still struggling with regular quiet time. Some are still struggling with consistent prayer life. Some are still struggling with how to have an effective Bible study. Some are struggling with how do I know who I'm to marry and they will be running from one prophet to another prophetess. We said if men are still struggling with earthly things like this, then how would they understand the things that have to do with the coming of Jesus? The things that have to do with the rapture? The things that have to do with our being taken away? If we don't understand the things of this life, how can we understand heavenly things? And so our challenge last week was that please, as individuals, we should go, we should seek a deeper fellowship. A deeper fellowship, honestly. Beyond that, some are still struggling with some other things. Struggling with fornication, struggling with immorality, struggling with pornography, struggling with lying, struggling with... how can such men understand heavenly things? That was our concern last week. And today, I want to take us in another direction, but also not too far from some of the things we were discussing last week. There is this popular scripture in the Bible, Psalm 90. Please let's go there. Psalm 90. I want to zero in on this popular scripture, the verse 12, but I will read from the verse 10. It says, "The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, then their boast is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath." And then the verse 12. It's a very popular scripture. Can we read it together? "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Another translation, can we try different translation? Amplified. Amplified says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom." KJV says, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom." The Message: "Oh, teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely and well." NIV: "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." NLT: "Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom." If you look at all of these renderings, actually none of them remove the word 'teach'. Teach us, teach us, teach us. Now, I want to surprise you about something. When we say teach us to number our days, ordinarily I think humans have been able to calculate the distance between the earth and the moon, the sizes of some of the stars, that some of them they are three times the earth, five times the earth. You get the point I'm making. Human beings have been able to calculate the distance between one state and another state, between one continent and another continent. We have been able to do all kinds of calculation. When it comes to the field of mathematics, human beings have gone to what extent? So why is it so difficult to number our days? Is it not difficult to say number one, just seventy years? What is so complex about why must it be a teaching to number our days? The mathematics we even do in primary school, the simple arithmetic, you can easily number seventy years. Is that not very easy? So you know that when talking about teach us to number our days, it's not the ordinary numbering. It's not the ordinary numbering. It says teach us to number our days. Teach us to number it so that we may grow in wisdom. And why is it talking about numbering our days? And that is our focus for today. I want to speak in specific four areas, four important subject matters about this thing. Teach us, teach us to number our days. Why must we be taught? Why must there be a teaching about our days? Why must we be taught? Why must we be taught to number our days? What is particular about our days? The various rendering of the scripture should help us to see some things about what we are talking about. If you look at the NLT translation, it says, "Teach us to make the most of our time. Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom." If you compare this scripture with Ephesians chapter 5 around verse 16 thereabout, or let me take it from verse 14. It says, "Therefore he says: 'Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.'" Verse 15: The Bible says, "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise." If you take that in the NLT, it says, "So be careful how you live. Not as fools but as wise." I like The Message translation. It says, "So watch your step. Use your head." Now, immediately that the Bible says that so be careful how you live so that you don't live as fools but as wise, what is the verse 16? "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Now, I hope you are bringing something together. Teach us to number our days. That is, so teach us how to make the most of our time, of our life. Teach us how to make the most. You know what that tells me? It tells me that it is possible to make something out of your life but yet you may not have made the most. Except you are taught of God, it is difficult for you to make the most out of your life. Man don't have the capacity to make the most out of his life. Except man receives understanding, it is such a difficult thing for him to make the most out of it. It is such a... that is why I was trying to give you an understanding when I said when it comes to calculation, what is that thing that man has not been able to calculate? Is it the size of the star? Is it the size of the earth? Is it the size of the space? Look at if... in fact, I remember when I was a student, undergraduate University of Benin, talking about carbon dating. How man was able to date back things to millions of years ago and being able to calculate time using the solar system and they came to a point that some hours were missing. And then were able to tell them that it was that one that happened in the days of Joshua and in the days of Hezekiah. What am I trying to bring out? Is that if you look at the capacity of man, you'll be wondering what is there about calculating? But what we are looking at is how the Bible says teach us, teach us. You see, except the Lord grant you what you find in Job 32:8. Job 32:8. It says, "But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding." Except there is a breath of God upon man, man cannot make the most of his life. And as I was looking at this scripture this afternoon, honestly, I began to see some dimensions. And I said I'll be speaking on four dimensions. Four dimensions of teach us to number our days. I want to speak on four things, four important things about this matter. Teach us to number our days. The first one about numbering our days is about the human life and truth. Truth. The human life and truth. Now, I want you to look at something about the human life and truth. And honestly, I'm going to use simple things the way they came to me. For example, let's first address ourselves as Christians. Let's begin to look at it. What is it that brought humanity, that take humanity out of the abundance they were enjoying at the beginning? What was it? God said, "Do not eat," and they ate. Is that not? Is that not? It's just a simple thing. "Don't eat this," and they ate it. Okay. Leave that place. Let's move a little further. What was it that brought Noah to a point where Noah had to curse one of his children? What was it? He got drunk and he was naked. And then one of the sons said, "Look at this baba, he's not supposed to be behaving like this." That was it. Let's move from there. What was it that made Reuben to lose the place of the firstborn? He slept with his father's wife. Let's leave it. What was it that made Abraham to almost lose out of the program of God for him? He was striving for a child. Leave it. Please, you can multiply like that until you come to the New Testament. What was it that destroyed Judas? The love of money. I want to ask, these things that we have mentioned, have they stopped destroying the church today? So do you see that man and truth they are opposed? And yet, the best of life that man can live is only by the truth. The best of life that man can live is only by the truth. I want to ask, what destroyed Samson? Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, immorality. What almost cut off the whole kingdom of David? He saw one lady and then he slept with the lady. And today's church have not stopped fornication. Have not stopped immorality. What are the things we are finding pastors guilty of? What are the things we are finding young people guilty of? What are these things? Are you seeing that except God help your heart, man and truth are opposed? You will know that fornication kills and yet you will be fornicating. You will know that it is not right to keep malice and yet you will still... What am I trying to say is that do you see that all the records that God put down, why were these records put down? Why were they down? Let's look at 1 Corinthians chapter 10, that very popular scripture again. I'm just using popular things to talk. All I'm going to discuss today are nothing but things we know. The Lord was just calling my reminder, the Lord was just reminding me this afternoon about awon nkan kekeke wonyi. The Lord was just pointing my attention to the little things, the little forces that spoiled the vine. Awon nkan kekeke. Things we just feel it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. And at the end of the day, our life don't matter. Look at it. Look at 1 Corinthians 10:10. That's a very popular scripture. The Bible was reading from verse 1. It says, "Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. But with most of them..." with most. How many was God pleased with at the end of the day? How many? Just two. Is that not the truth? So with most of them, God was not pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. I pray this will not be our portion. But I want to show you this thing about truth and something you need to make your mind up about that God, teach me Your ways that I may walk in Your truth. Teach me Your... you see, we naturally don't want to go the way of truth. We are naturally inclined against truth. It says, "Now these things became our examples to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as some of them were. As it is written, 'The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.' Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall." You know what he's trying to tell us? Except you take heed to yourself, man and truth are almost mutually exclusive. Except you take heed to yourself. We constantly avoid the path of truth and yet the only way man can maximize his life is to go the way of truth. I'm telling you, you cannot maximize your existence. Look at the maximum, what can be more fuller than two people in a garden? Everything for them to eat. It was even so much that it was God that became the errand boy that was bringing a wife for Adam. It was so designed that he does not need to sweat for him to eat. It was so designed that the woman don't need to have pain before she keep multiplying. It was so designed that the water, everything... what is it that God did not make available? What was it in that garden? Nothing. Please, that full life, how did they get out of it? God said, man felt otherwise. And I'm telling you, that has been the pattern till today. The reason why you will not be able to maximize your life, every point in life where you go against the truth, you cut short a fuller life. Every instance of your life where you go against the truth, you are only cutting short a fuller life. You are only cutting short a life of peace and rest and quietness. You're only cutting it short. It is nothing more than that. And that is why you need to beg God that God, teach me Your ways that I may walk in Your truth. Teach me Your way, Oh Lord, and I will walk in Your truth. If you don't ask God to teach you His ways, many many a times you will discover that you'll be living against truth. And as often as you live against truth, you have not maximized your life. If he was thinking it can be a fuller life outside obeying God, but what did she get? Was it really fuller? It was not. And I'm telling you, the same mistake till today. The same mistake. We keep repeating that mistake. The same thing that destroyed Samson is still destroying us. The same thing that destroyed David is still here with us. The same thing that destroyed... so I wonder why can't man just learn from history? Do you need a preacher to know that immorality destroys? Do you need a preacher? Why must God still raise somebody? Ah, there is a word of knowledge. Somebody here, God said you are immoral and then if you don't repent... must we come to that point? Are you understanding me? What will make ushers to be stealing offering when they knew what destroyed Judas? What? I'm trying to make it distinct that except you beg God that God, teach me to number my days, teach me to understand that look, this life, truth is the only way to go so that my life can be fuller, I can really maximize my life. The other thing I want to discuss today, I said four things in four areas. Man and truth are almost mutually exclusive except you do something about your life, you may not walk in the truth. Teach us to number our days. Look at the other thing the Lord point my attention to. I said just four things. Look at this other very popular scripture, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. This time, two classes of men. Two classes of men. The first one is man and truth. The second one is two classes of men. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. Are you there? It's also a very very popular scripture. We use it every time somebody we are burying anybody. Every time we want to do burial of the saints, we normally go to this scripture. So I just want to draw something out of it. It's also a very popular scripture. "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus." NLT: "And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen to Christians who died so that you will not be full of sorrow like people who have no hope." So that concerned, then it went ahead that the Lord will descend in the form with the archangel. We are familiar with that story, isn't it? We are familiar with that. But look at it. If the Bible says, "And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen to Christians who died so that you will not be full of sorrow like people who have no hope," as far as scripture is concerned, how many class of human beings do we have? Just two. Those who have hope and those who are hopeless. But do you know that when you begin to look at life, except God help your heart, we see more than these two classes? Do you agree with me? Except God help your heart, you begin to see the rich and the poor. You begin to see the successful and the non-successful. You begin to see this, you begin to see that. But when we get to the gate ultimately, there are just two classes of people: those who have hope and those who are hopeless. And I want you to look at it. Do you see that it is because we divide than these two classes that makes us not to be focused on where we are going? What is it that take men away from righteousness? What is it that take men outside Jesus? Is it not because they begin to class beyond these two classes? As far as eternity is concerned, it's either a man has hope or a man is hopeless. In other words, every other one that we are making, we begin to strengthen the other line. We begin to make them so strong before you know, the fundamental division will not be clear to you again. Am I living in hope or am I living a hopeless life? That is the basic and fundamental thing about life. And it's from that place that every other things are navigated. If I must become hopeless to get something, no, sorry. There is a strong division, there is a strong line. There's a line that we cannot demarcate. So this is something that rules our life. And I just have one thing here. I said I'll just make allusion to it so that I can buy some time. Look at how Jesus spoke about the case of the rich man and Lazarus. But what interest me is the finality of the two of them. That's just what I want to talk about. At the end of the day, the Bible talks about the rich man. Jesus Christ said the rich man died and he was buried. Then he said Lazarus died and he was carried. That's just what I want to emphasize in that place. That Luke 16. That it was that the beggar died and he was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. That is what interests me. And what I want to talk about about that in a very simple way is this. They call that man the rich man. They call Lazarus the beggar. But when they died, there was nothing substantial in the life of the rich man that could make heaven carry him, even though he was a rich man. Whereas, when the poor man died, there was so much treasure in him that heaven carried him. No body spend his time on emptiness. What I'm trying to draw out is what is taking me to the third thing. Luke chapter 12 verse 15: the content of a man's life. Teach us to number our days that we may apply our heart to wisdom. The content of a man's life. That parable of the rich man and Lazarus is taking me to the third one. The content. What does a man's life contain? Luke 12:15. From that parable of the rich man and Lazarus, we want to look at Luke 12:15. It's also a very popular scripture too. And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses." Let me take that in NLT. "Then He said, 'Beware! Don't be greedy for what you don't have. Real life is not measured by how much we own.'" NIV: "Then He said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possession.'" The Message: "Speaking to the people He went on, 'Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.'" Amplified: "He said to them, 'Guard yourself and keep free from covetousness, the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more; for a man's life does not consist in and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance, or that which is over and above his needs.'" So the question is, in what does a man's life consist? It means if you take away everything that I have in life, everything that one has in life, you have still not touched the man's life, because his life does not consist in those things. A man's life does not consist in possession. So if you take everything... and that is what Jesus was trying to demonstrate in Lazarus and the rich man. That what makes a life valuable is not something material. What makes a life to have value, and that's why they are describing that man, describing the Lazarus as somebody who has nothing. He has nothing. It was so bad that even dogs were licking his sores. Jesus was just trying to create a picture. I often tell people about that. I think I've said that in some of our meetings here. It was just a picture. Because if you read Matthew 6, the Lord said something. What did He say? He said seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these other things shall be added to you. And what was the thing? What to eat, what to drink, and what to wear. But the Lord used that story of Lazarus and the rich man to make us see something. That if it will mean the only way to live and to live in hope and not become hopeless is not to have any material thing, it doesn't mean that the life don't have value. The life has so much value that at the point of death, angels will be assigned to carry it. And even if a man have so much riches, his life may not have any value that God will say they should bury it away. He was just trying to emphasize something very crucial. Something very crucial that we need to get a clear understanding that a man's life does not consist. But you know, we, except God teach you to number your days, that's why He said teach us to number our days. You will keep... and that's why you notice that the Bible keep defining it. "Love not the world, the things that are in this world. For if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life that comes from 'I have this', 'I have that'. He says they are not of the Father. The Father don't rate men based on those things." The value of a man's life is not in it. These are things followers of Jesus must understand so that we don't do anything that will clean or that will make the fundamental division. "Me, I have hope. Others are hopeless." And there is a way a man that has hope lives. Just as a way a man that does not have hope should live. And so it is important to know that a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possession. A man's life, and I was trying to ask a question, in what then does a man's life consist? How do we measure? How do we value a man then? How do we know if he has value? And that takes me to another point. That point is the climax of all things. The climax of all things. Let us see 2 Peter chapter 3. 2 Peter chapter 3. I'll be reading from around verse 5. It says, "For this they willfully forget that by the word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of water and in the water." Do you get what it's trying to say? That when he says that they willfully forget that by the word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of water and in the water, it's talking about from the beginning. That earth that was standing, you know God said, "Let the water gather to one side, then let the earth, the dry land appear." It is that dry land that was called earth. That dry land that was called earth, don't forget, they said let the water gather then let the dry land appear. So that land that appeared that we are calling earth was actually standing on the water. The foundation is in the water, although it was not sinking. And then by that same word of God again, that earth was submerged by water. He says, "For this they willfully forget that by the word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of water and in the water." God said let there be dry land appear. The heavens were of old and the earth standing out of water and in the water. He put the earth on top of water and yet it stood. And by which word that then existed, perished being flooded with water. Do you get it now? Later again God spoke again, that that earth should be overrun by water. And that earth was consumed by water, leaving just who? Those that were inside the ark. He says they forget that God destroyed the earth before. It's not a new thing if God wants to destroy the world. It has happened before. And some people are also thinking now, some people will just appear, Jesus will just appear, some people will just go. Don't let anybody trick you, it's just one of those kangaroo stories. It's not going to be like that. How is it going to be? Is it with this body? How will they change? How will it happen? Don't believe all these old fable stories, they are not things that are real. That is how some people are looking at the matter. Some believers are not even particularly preparing that we'll be taken away. We live in... it is one thing to have heard that something will happen. It is another thing to live in the consciousness of its happening. It is another thing. Let me use literal things for you. Exam, every student knows that they will write exam. But those who live in the consciousness that are exams, it is different from those who live in that consciousness of it. When you live in the consciousness of something, there is a way the thing makes you to behave. There is a way it makes you to think. There is a way it affects the way you think. Now, he said they are ignorant of that. Now look at what the Bible now says. It says verse 7, "But the heavens and the earth which are now, preserved by the same word, are reserved for the fire." This one that we have now, after God submerge that one, then there's another one now, this is the one that we have now. By the same word are reserved for fire. Until the day of judgment and the perdition of ungodly men. Look at the next thing. "But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day." Please note, He didn't say one day with the Lord is a thousand years. He is as, he is like. It could be a million years. They are just trying to say that eternity and time, they are not on the same measure. That's what they are just trying to say. So that if God says I'm coming tomorrow, God's tomorrow may mean one million years. It may not translate exactly as you are thinking about it. It may not translate like that. So when Jesus said I'm coming soon, that's what He told John in the Revelation. Does it look like soon? Let's be honest. Does it look like soon? From when John's Revelation was written and now, it's not looking like soon. He should have said I'm coming after a long time, that is when we will understand. He said, "Look, I am coming soon. Let him that is wicked be wicked. Let him that is righteous be righteous. Look, I'm coming, my reward is with Me." John will be thinking that by next week. But do you notice the way that book was closed? I am coming. For Him, the case had been closed since when, since that time. But if you look at it, does it look like soon? Do you know how many years have gone now? Now, when He said that, it should make you get something very clear. That the truth of our life is that our life is a moment. Just a moment. Our life is just a moment. God asks you to wait for Him for a moment and you could not wait. It's just a moment. Everything is just a moment. In a moment everything will be gone and then we will face eternity. We will be facing eternity. Oh Lord, help us to number our days. Lord help us to number our days. What I'm trying to say is that you should get something clear, whether 120, whether 50, whether 70, we trust God for long life. But the purpose of God determines how long a man will live. If purpose finishes at the age of 20, the person will go at 20. If it finishes at 35, he goes at 35. Whenever purpose ends, the life ends. And it's not that one person is more righteous than the other person. That's a fact of it. But the point I'm making is this: what is today can as well be gone tomorrow because you may sleep... like what happened about three weeks ago. Someone went to sleep and didn't wake up the following day. So what was today was no more by the following day. These are realities. We should wake up to live with these realities, or else we'll be living foolishly. They are realities. They are realities we should come up to live with. They are things we should make up our mind about. None of us have an abiding city here. So nobody is saying that we don't pray for long life, but we must get life very very clear. Okay. We must get life very very clear. He says, He says, "Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow." Not next tomorrow. Tomorrow. That is how you should see life. Because it is just a moment. And it happen in different ways. And men don't travel and say I want to get back and they don't come back. Is everything not gone? Jesus died at 33 and He is the beloved Son of God. We should put our life in correct perspective. What I'm trying to say is that you should get something clear, whether 120, whether 50, whether 70, we trust God for long life. But we must get life very very clear. He says, He says, "Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow." Not next tomorrow. Tomorrow. It's possible that all the plans you have for next year July, by tomorrow all those plans are gone, somebody else can continue with the plan. These are possibilities. And it could be the other way. We may sleep tonight and by twelve before it is twelve midnight, the rapture have taken place. It could be whichever way. But we must be in the reality that what is today can tomorrow be gone. Look at what he now says. I like the way The Message put it. "Do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Do you see how essential it is to live a holy life?" Since what we are looking at today we may not see tomorrow. Do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Help us to number our days that we may apply our heart to wisdom. I want to close the meeting here for today. Four things, and I've just shown four things. I want you to talk to the Lord. Ask the Lord to help you to number your days. To help you to, you know, to make the best of your living. Let us put our life right. God will help you to live by the truth that He has opened our eyes to again. To live by the truth that we have forgotten but He has reminded us again. God will help you to always remember that there are only two classes of people in this life: those who have hope and those who are hopeless. God will help you to constantly remember that a man's life does not consist in the abundance of what he possesses. That God will help you to always always remember that see, the climax of all things is that it is essential to live a holy life. That's the essential thing. Any other thing you may be gathering together, brother, I want to beg you, the climax of all things. All these things we are gathering, they have been reserved for fire. It is so essential. In any way you want to gather it, gather it by holiness. In any way you want to get it, get it by holiness. Are you inside marriage? Are you a father, a mother, a sister, a brother? Wherever you are, make sure that you are doing it by holiness. Holiness. That's where your life consists. How essential it is because what you are seeing today by tomorrow may be no more. That is the reality of it. Think back at those you started this world with. Some have died before they reached this age. Some did not have it this good. So you need to get it clear that what is today by tomorrow be gone. So every day you are living a holy life. Every day holy living. In all you do, in all manners of your conversation, holiness. Ask the Lord to help you. Lord help me to number my days. Help me to number my days. Help me to make the best of my life. Help me Lord, help me. Help me. The life is just a moment. Someone who lived 50 is just a moment. One who lived 100 is just a moment. One who lived 70 is just a moment. Everything is just a moment. In a moment everything will be gone and then we will face eternity. We will be facing eternity. Oh Lord, help us to number our days. Lord help us to number our days. Thank You, Everlasting Father. Blessed be Your holy name. In Jesus' name we pray. Eternal Rock of Ages, we are grateful unto You for coming to us again to bless us, for giving us Your word. Thank You for reminding us, Oh Lord, of our sojourn here on earth. Thank You, Lord, for everything that You have said. You have reminded us, You have sent to us to heal and deliver us. We have no doubt in our heart that we have been helped by God. We have been delivered, we have been strengthened. Lord, we give You glory in the name of Jesus. Lord, we commit ourselves into Your hand, Oh Lord. Cause us, Oh Lord, to number our days correctly that we might apply our heart unto wisdom. Help us, Oh Lord, to live by the truth that You have opened our eyes to again. To live by the truth that we have forgotten but You have reminded us again. Help us, Oh Lord, to know that there are no other... we have the major, the only two classes of man on earth are those who have hope and those who do not have. Lord, help us to always remain in this place of hope, which is the place of holiness and godliness. Help us, Oh Lord, to pursue, Oh Lord, to constantly stand by the way of hope, and that is the way of holiness and godliness in the name of Jesus. Take away from us, Oh Lord, every deception. We stand against every deception, every coloration, every deceit of the enemy that is multiplying a lot of ideas in our heart, different, Oh Lord, from the way of the Lord. Father, we pray Oh Lord You will help us to follow You and follow through in Jesus' name. Help us, Oh Lord, to look and run after what has value. And the only way our life has value is that that life is essentially godly, holy unto You, Lord, in the name of Jesus. We pray Oh Lord keep us holy and godly. Help us, Oh Lord, to make this our value. Help us to make this what we pursue every day. Help us, Oh Lord, in our daily activities in our all doing, Lord, we will put this, Oh Lord, as a check to know whether we are to go in this line or the other. Lord, please help us in the name of Jesus. We thank You for the strength You have given to us again. We pray Lord God Almighty, we shall not be found wanting. Lord, even if You shall appear today, Lord God Almighty, we shall be among those who have hope because Lord God Almighty we will not walk in the path of the hopeless. We will not walk in the path of the worldly because Lord our abundance, our life is not in the abundance of what we possess. We possess what we will seek to have abundance in is in godliness and holiness in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Father, for hearing us. Thank You for Your son we pray, Oh Lord, as virtue has gone out of You will replenish, You will restore him back in Jesus' name. You, all of us together, we will be doers of this word and not hearers only in Jesus' name. This word that we have heard tonight, Oh Lord, will do us good. We find place will be established upon our heart in Jesus' name. Lord, we ask that You water it so that it will bring forth fruit unto thousands in the name of Jesus. Father, we thank You. As we go let Your presence go with us. Lord, continue with us in our closet. Oh Lord, burden our mind, Oh Lord, with this word. Help us to meditate further. Holy Spirit, breathe upon Your word in our heart that we may be able to apply our heart to wisdom. Teach us how to live correctly. Teach us how to live with heaven in view. Teach us how to live fulfilling God's purpose. Teach us how to live, Oh Lord, being relevant in the scheme of things with You, Lord, in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Everlasting Father.
