Church and fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God greatly desires a godly home for us. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Tent Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.
[Speaker 2]
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. For in the last four, five, six weeks now, we have been considering "My peace I give unto you." And so many things have been said. So many things we have been able to note about the matter of the Lord offering us a peace that is not like the one that the world gives.
And last week we were able to see another aspect to this matter of peace, why ordinarily many believers don't have peace. And the truth that it is the meek that will delight themselves in the abundance of peace. It is the meek. If you're somebody who is revengeful, somebody who is full of hurt, somebody who cannot see that all things will work together for my good, no matter how the wicked prosper. If you're someone who cannot see all of this, you will begin to fret because of the wicked. And when you fret because of the wicked, you will discover that the peace of God will not reign in your heart.
A lady we were discussing one time said, "I don't just understand. I don't have peace. My husband is not making me to have peace." I just asked what is it? She said the things he normally does just get me irritated and angry. So, I said, "Look, you are the one not giving yourself peace. It is your attitude to his action that is making you restless. If you change your attitude to his action, you will be at peace." The meek will delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
And that was something we looked at last week, and we were able to bring that matter to a point where we closed the meeting. Today, we want to begin to look at another very important topic. I also do not know whether we will be able to finish it today. If we can finish it today, blessed be God. If we cannot, we will move on whenever the Lord will help us to get to today. If we can conclude it, then we will definitely conclude it.
What we want to look at is the gospel, or the gospel, "This Gospel of the Kingdom." This Gospel of the Kingdom. This Gospel of the Kingdom. This Gospel of the Kingdom. And if you look at the topic, two things are the key words there: gospel and then kingdom. Of course, we know what gospel is: good news. When we say gospel, we mean good news. So, we mean this good news of the kingdom.
Now, the matter the kingdom is coming because, actually, the good news came to establish a kingdom. The good news, that news, is actually the news about a kingdom. That's why we call it the gospel of the kingdom. It's about a kingdom. That news is introducing a kingdom. And what I first want to say is that if it is introducing a kingdom, it is important to know that it is because the people that it is introducing it to, they are already in one kingdom. They are already in one kingdom. So, it's like you have been spending one type of money. They now say, "Look, don't spend this type of money. This is another type of money." So, men have been in a kingdom. Then a good news now came about another kingdom.
Now, the topic itself, where did we take the topic from? This Gospel of the Kingdom. 2 Timothy chapter 1. Let's take 2 Timothy chapter 1. 2 Timothy chapter 1. I will read from verse 8 to verse 11. That is where we pick the topic from, or we got the topic from.
He said, "Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the suffering for the gospel according to the power of God." Now, verse 9. The Bible says, "Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ before time began."
"But has now been revealed," verse 10, "by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. To which I am appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles."
When you look at this passage that we just read, the scripture is making us to see some crucial issues in these verses. Number one is the eternal truth that God has saved us and called us with a holy calling. The calling is not according to our works. The calling that we are called is not according to our work, our works. Now, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ before time began.
Now, the Bible is making us to see that there was a purpose in God. That purpose in God, maybe I should read that text in another translation. Let me take it in NLT. "It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. God saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan long before the world began, to show His love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus."
He now says, "And now He has made all of this plain to us by the coming of Jesus Christ." That plan that God had, if Jesus did not come, we would not have known that plan. That plan that He had before time began, we did not know it. All the prophets that were prophesying, that was why, if you look at what Jesus said in Matthew chapter 13. Please let's see that scripture. Let's see Matthew chapter 13. Matthew chapter 13.
After the parable of the sower, I want us to see this popular statement, but I want us to relate it to where we are coming from. Matthew chapter 13, verse 16 and verse 17. What did Jesus say there? He said, "But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear." Now, what followed in verse 17? He said, "For assuredly I say to you, many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, but they did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but they did not hear it."
Are you getting that? You know what I'm trying to say? That plan of God, all the prophets, everybody that prophesied, Moses, all those things they did, they still could not understand what God was doing. Do you get it? They didn't understand it. That was why if you look at this matter in Peter, he said the holy prophet, the spirit of Christ in them was testifying about the suffering and the death of Christ, but they did not understand it. They were wondering, what is it about? They could not put it together.
Do you get it? Why could they not put it together? Why? It is what we are seeing in Timothy. In Timothy, we are now told that that plan which God had, 2 Timothy chapter 1, where we left just now, look at it. He said, the Bible says, verse 10, NLT, "And now He has made all of this plain to us by the coming of Jesus Christ."
Are you seeing that text? Now, why is it that all the prophets of old could not understand what they were really prophesying about? Why could they not understand it? Because before Christ came, God did not make the matter plain. It was not plain. It was not clear. It was not clear to them. So, they were prophesying, they were talking about it, they were preaching about it, but truly they did not understand it. They didn't understand it.
That was why Jesus told His disciples, "Look, many righteous people, many prophets, they were prophesying, they were talking about it, but they did not understand because it was not yet plain. It was not clear." They were prophesying in shadows. It was in parable. It was not plain.
When they were going through the Sabbath, God said nobody should work, rest, because if you don't rest, anyone that does not rest they will kill the person. They were thinking it's about a day. They didn't understand that the rest, Jesus is the rest. "Come unto me and I will give you rest." They could not put it together. When they were told that they should not sow the land with two types of seed, what were they thinking? They were thinking it's about the seed that they were planting. And they would be wondering, "Why can't we plant corn and beans?" And some people are still like that today. They don't want to plant the same type of seed on one land that God said is defiled. Praise the Lord.
Just as some people are still holding Sabbath so seriously today, only one holy day. And if you don't keep the holy day, you are not a godly person. But what I'm saying is that when He told them they should not put the same seed upon a land, they did not understand it. Although they did the good thing about them, they just obeyed. That's the problem that we we are having. We don't just obey. We are more stubborn, a generation that is so enlightened. I put it like this, too enlightened to be led by God. But that is not a blessing. If you are too enlightened to be led by God, it becomes a big problem for you.
They did not understand that it's not about land. They didn't understand it because, actually, when we talk about the land, it is in a parable of the sower. We know that the seed and the land, when God talking about it, talking about what? The heart of men. What God was pointing to is that the heart of men, the only thing you should hide in your heart is His word so that you will not sin against Him. But they were looking at land. They could not understand what they were prophesying about because God was pointing about... Are you understanding me?
So, many things were not clear to them. It was when Jesus came that things were actually made plain. Some things that were not clear. The Bible says, "And now God decided to make it plain." And so, let me tell you something. That some people did not fully understand God and you now begin to better understand God, don't pride yourself against them. It may just be it is your dispensation that God is doing something greater.
Are you getting it? Because if you throw away the Old Testament, we will not get the shadow of the New. What you call the Old Testament was just a fulfillment of the New Testament. If God had not spoken in the Old Testament, if we now say that Jesus Christ came to fulfill what God said, then we are liars. So, even though the Old is just a shadow, we cannot discard it and say because we have a better revelation.
But we just need to, are you understanding me? We need to thank God that we are stepping higher. Yes, appreciate men who work in that generation. I hope you are understanding me, what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to show is that the work of God is cumulative, so that if God is bringing you into a place to do something greater, don't begin to have this spirit of superiority complex. You understand me? You might have just been brought for something better, not because you are better.
How will you know? You will find it in the earlier verse. He said the Bible says, "Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works." So, it's not because we are really better that we are having a better revelation, but that we are coming at a time when God decided to make it plain. They came at a time when it was not plain. That is why Jesus said, "Blessed are your eyes because they see." Those ones that did not see, it was because in that generation God was not making it plain.
And I'm relating it to our everyday experiences. Don't let the eye ever think that because he can see very far, the nose is useless. You get the point I'm making. And don't let the hand and the leg feel that they are superior because they don't see. There are some ministries that you cannot see. They are just inside, but they are very delicate ministry that if you remove the heart, the hand and the leg will fall down. You get the point I'm making so that no man can actually say something too much about himself. All things are of God. That's the bottom line I first want to make.
Now, where I'm going, he said, "Now," one thing we must know and that is why I tell people, don't settle down for what is not plain. It is not because we are better people, but because that is what God is doing. I don't know what God wants to do about my life. I don't know, it's not even clear. No, we can understand what God is doing. Except you don't want to accept what God is telling you, because that's another thing.
We gave an example during marriage forum. You remember? The sister that God somebody who made a proposal and said, "I want a better person." And somebody else came and was not up to that one and she said, "God, no, let that other person come than me to marry this one." And while she was finding herself in that, God said a daughter of her to go and share revelation with her. So, her problem is not that things were not plain, her problem is that she was not accepting what God was saying. You get the point I'm making. Understanding what God is saying, sometimes we may be fighting what God is saying. I'll be coming to that later.
But the gospel of the kingdom, because that's our topic, "This Gospel of the Kingdom." We must understand that we are in a dispensation where God is making things plain through Jesus Christ. Don't let anybody mystify God for you. Don't let anybody create some things. You must understand that that veil was torn so that it is no more the High Priest alone that can access God. What is God saying? Let everybody come, come in. So, we are going beyond the concept of a man of God to the people of God.
I don't know whether you understand what I've just said. The New Testament ought to be an operation of the people of God. But if you see what is happening around us so much today, it is still like the old one. Let's go and meet [unclear: woli] to tell us where God is. Let's hide around one person to be, let's put an intermediary. Let's put somebody in between.
I'm not talking about that there will not be leadership. There not be operation of gift. The Bible talks about respect your leaders. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about God dealing with our lives, the dealings of God, this dispensation. It's a dispensation in which we can individually access God, and God can make things plain for us.
That does not throw away leadership because we understand from the word of God that the Bible says God has set in His house first the apostles, then the prophet, then this, then that, then that, then that, for the purpose of using their gift. But note, he didn't say God set upon the church, he said God set in the church. No man by his gift is placed upon the church. We are all in the church.
You get the point I'm making so that when you look at the five-fold ministry, if you check it also very very well, he said he makes some of the apostles to begin to be that for the perfecting of the saints, is that not? In view of the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body of Christ. You see that they are doing all of that. But look at what he said again. He didn't say till they all. Is that what he said? You have not checked that scripture very closely. Ephesians chapter 4. I want us to see that scripture. Ephesians chapter 4.
So that you don't, I'm not demeaning any gift in the body of Christ, but I'm just situating everybody so that no man should think more highly of himself than he ought to think. Now, he said from verse 11, the Bible says, "And He gave himself, and He gave some, He gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers."
Look at it now. For the equipping of the saints. So, there are people that God has given as gifts so that the saints can be equipped. You get the point I'm making. So, we are not demeaning any ministry, but I'm trying to put some things correctly. For the work of the ministry. So, you equip the saint for what? The work of ministry. Number two, he says for what? For the edifying of the body of Christ. That is second purpose of the gift of God. What does it mean to edify? How do we edify something? Under word, another translation, please. To build up.
To build up the body of Christ. Now, when He got to verse 13, that's where I'm going. Till what? Do you notice something there? The Bible did not say till they all come. But what? Till we all. You don't get what it is trying to say? That even those who are gifted are themselves also being perfected.
Are you getting the high of what I'm trying to say now? He made some to be apostles. Because people normally talk about these gifts as if these are the only gifts that perfect the body of Christ. No, he's telling you something. He gave these gift for this purpose. But you must understand that there are also some other gifts.
The people that somebody is an apostle, that I've been called an apostle, does not mean that because of that my area of gifting, there is nothing in my life that somebody who is a pastor need to perfect in me. Do you get it? The apostle is building the pastor in view of the work of the ministry and all of that. The pastor too is doing what? Is building the apostle.
These gift, they are building the people. The people too with others with their own different gift, intercessors. No, Jesus said, "Can't you watch with me for one hour?" Even the Lord know the place of intercession. Paul said, "Pray for us that door chance may be given unto us." Those who are given the gift of intercession, they are also doing what? Perfecting the ministry of those who are... Are you understanding me?
So, it is so there is a perfecting, the whole body is building itself together. So that there is no gift that stand on the church. All the gift, they are where? They are all in the church together with all the other gift and all of them, they are doing what? They are perfecting themselves so that when you think you are so gifted that nothing in the body can perfect you, then you are lost. You are lost. You're already lost. You have lost you are out of you are no more thinking of yourself as you ought to think of yourself. You are thinking of yourself more than you ought to think about yourself.
Now, please don't forget where I am coming from. I'm coming from 2 Timothy chapter 1. I don't want us to lose our focus of what we were doing. I just want there I just want to mention something. What I am trying to our focus, I said is what? The Gospel, "This Gospel of the Kingdom." This Gospel of the Kingdom. That is what we are considering. That's the theme that we are beginning today. And as we take this theme, the first thing that I am emphasizing very strongly is that this gospel of the kingdom, why we say it is a good news, why we are seeing what we are seeing about this gospel of the kingdom, is that we are now at a time. He says who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our work but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ before the world began.
It was given to us some things were given to us in Christ before time began. Of course, ordinarily we cannot know those things. Is that not? Because we were not there. We began in time, but the thing was given to us before time. So, there is no way we can understand it. And listen, there is no person in time that can understand it except those in timelessness speak to those who are in time.
Now, God began to operate in the Old Testament, in the prophets. But because it was not yet time to make it plain, the Bible says the Spirit of Christ in them, they were prophesying, but they did not understand it according to Peter. He said even these things angels desire to look into it because they were wondering, what is the manner of Jesus coming? It was not clear. So, holy men, righteous men wanted to know it.
But when we now come to the time of the gospel, because it was Jesus who began the gospel of the kingdom, the Bible now shows that thing that was given to us before time began, that thing that was not clear in the prophet, that thing that was not clear in the former dispensation, that thing that we could not have really understood that could not be made plain, the Bible says, "But now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior."
So that the manifestation of Jesus is to make what God planned before time to be made plain. Whatever God had planned, if it is not plain in Jesus, I wonder which gospel you are working in, sir. It should be plain in Jesus.
You know Jesus said something. They are just jumping jumping into my spirit here and there. Look, Jesus said something. The day I encountered that scripture, it's just about this to be made plain in Jesus. Look at John chapter 10. Please look at John 10, we'll come back to this place. We'll come back. Look at John chapter 10. John chapter 10. I begin from verse 1. Please follow this what Jesus was saying here. Follow it very closely.
He said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them and the sheep follow him for they know his voice.
"Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but they will flee from him for they do not know the voice of the stranger." Now, look at what the Bible says. Jesus said this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. So, who was Jesus speaking to? He was speaking to the people, but they did not understand what He was trying to say in what we have just read.
He now want to better illustrate it again. You get it? "Then Jesus said to them again, again, most assuredly I say to you, I am the door of the sheep." He had said something before. He's putting it again in another way. They didn't understand that one. Are you following me? He now began to say something in another way to establish something.
In the first one, what was he trying to say in the first one? What was he trying to say? That He's the true shepherd because He's the one that the doorkeeper will open to. Is that not? But when he want to speak the second time, what did he say? You know the former one, he said the doorkeeper will open the door for him. In the former one, he said the doorkeeper, please be following. In the first one, he said He's the shepherd, the true shepherd, the doorkeeper will open the door for Him so that He can come in. Is that not? That He will not break through to enter, showing that actually me I'm the true shepherd.
But in the second one, this time what did he say? He said, "I am the door." He had left the matter of "I am the true shepherd." Now he's talking about the door. He said, "I am the door. I am the door, the door." He said, "I am the door of the sheep." All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
I am the door. Look at what now follows. If anyone enters by me, are you following something? Now, when he said all who came before me they were thieves and robbers, what was he trying to show? Who are thieves and robbers? All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers. He said me I am the door. All who came before me, everybody trying to say I am the Messiah, everybody trying to say I am the way, everybody trying to say me I am the pathway.
You remembered that don't think that some of these things did not happen. Do you remember that when disciples began to preach, and the elders gathered against them? You know when Gamaliel wanted to counsel them, he said they should remember that there was a time when somebody rose and He said He's this, so so thing happened, the person scattered. Then later someone rose, He said He's this. So, the matter the matter of Jesus of Kenya, Jesus of Oyingbo has been before Jesus, and it still will continue to be even after Jesus.
Do you get it? But one thing that Jesus was mentioning is that for the shepherd, the shepherd lay his life for the sheep. I don't want to go into that now. One thing that will help you to know the ministry that is in God, it is not to enrich the minister. But I don't want to go into that now. The shepherd die for the sheep. Go and check all these other Jesuses and see what they made for themselves. You will understand the ministry of Jesus versus these other ministries.
Are you getting me? But that's not where I'm going. Look at where I'm going. He said, "All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door." Look at what now follows. "If anyone enters by me," if it is by me and not by anybody else, if you enter by me, he will be, what is the first thing? What is the first thing about that person? He will be saved.
You know that's the first thing. Don't forget what we said in Timothy. He said, "Who has saved us." If anyone come by me, what is the first experience in Jesus? He will be saved. Don't forget the matter of being saved. What is it? He will save the people from their sin.
That is why he said, "Who has called us with a holy calling, who saved us and call us with a calling that will be making us holy." Are you understand what I'm trying to bring out? He will be saved, that saved there is saved from sin. He came to save them from their sin.
But that is not where it ends. What follows? He says, "He will go in and out and he will do what? He will find pasture." What is pasture? Brethren, what is pasture? What is pasture when he say the sheep will go in and then come out and they will find pasture? What is pasture? He made me lie down in green pasture. So, what is pasture? When he say they will go in and then come out and they will find pasture.
If anyone enter by me, there are two things about it. Number one is that anybody that enters by Jesus, there are several ways of entering. Oh, may the Lord deliver us in the name of Jesus. This gospel of the kingdom. What did I say? This gospel of the kingdom. That's what we are talking about. This gospel of the kingdom.
And I'm showing you something because I'm still going to show you something my next thing I want to speak to you from that Timothy. But I'm still saying something here. If you look again at John chapter 3, when He was talking to Nicodemus, he said these are those that are born, not by what... he made refer to three things. Please let's see that scripture. You see I want to establish something about this gospel of the kingdom. I want to speak on understanding this gospel of the kingdom. Inrere ijoba yi. Inrere ijoba ti a n soro yi. This gospel of the kingdom.
And I'm showing you something because I'm still going to show you something. Look at John 3, please look at John 3, we'll come back to this John 10. Look at John 3. Have you John chapter 3? Look at what Jesus said about being born again. He said that which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which born of the spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I say this to you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes and where it goes. So is everyone born of the spirit.
Fundamentally here, that person who is born of the spirit, in a way, their life their life is a mystic. But that's not where I'm going. Look at the next thing. Nicodemus asked and said to him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you not a teacher in Israel? Oh sorry, I skipped something.
I want to I want to take where he says these are born not by the will of the flesh... verse... thank you. That's where I'm going, not chapter 3. That's where I'm going. Chapter 1:12. Let us go there.
Now, please look at 12 into 13. He says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." Look at what is particular about these people. They are those who are born, not of what? Not of blood. When something is not born of blood, what is that telling you about those? Jesus said, "Anyone who enters through me, he will be saved." You know that's the first thing. Then he will go in and come out and find pasture. I'm trying to explain when the Bible says that but now He had made it plain.
You know I said it was done before time. But now God is making it plain. So, what I'm trying to make you see is that, actually, this is a period, now God is making things plain. God is making things plain. When you're talking about pasture, if anybody actually enters through Jesus, when we say pasture, pasture for animals, we are talking about well-watered grass that will make them feed and be strong and be fine. He said, "If anybody enter through me, he will go in and he will come out and he will find pasture." He will not go in and come out and be still starving.
If anybody actually enter through Jesus, he can never be ignorant. If anybody, please get that very clear. If anybody actually enters through Jesus, what will happen? He will find pasture. You will not find Jesus... you will notice there are some things about the New Testament that if you properly understand it, you will know why many times I keep saying that there is nothing like a mighty man of God. We are men of a mighty God.
It is God that is at work in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Paul put it in another way. He says, "I strive and I labor according to His power that works in me mightily." Paul said in another place, "I labor more than them all, yet not I, but the grace of God." Men who understand this thing know something very clear. They know something very clear.
Paul said, "I labor more than them all," but he knows that those who are born, they were not born by the will of the flesh or by the will of man, they were born by God. That's why you notice that when the apostles were writing about those that were added to the church, he said, "And God added to the church." When Jesus was speaking about the disciples, He said, "Those that You have given unto me, not those that I got."
Certain things should keep us humble so that we don't take the glory of God from God. And that is why today, because men, please get me very clear. I'm talking about this gospel of the kingdom. Because men are tampering, are doing everything to take the place of God's glory, that is why we are seeing less manifestation of God's power.
Go and check it with the Israelites when God wanted to save through Gideon. And when God saw the number, he said, "Hey, I won't bring this salvation this way. If I bring it, these people will not give the glory to me. What will they say? They will say our hand has given us victory." So he began to reduce the number, reduce the number to a point where even the leader became afraid. Gideon was now wondering, 300 men to face multitude.
Those people too when they got there, they just carried the thing, "For Gideon and for God," and they saw everybody running away and they were dying and everything. They can't go back to their people and say, "You see when I got there, I did my sword like this, I cut like this, I did like this. Ha, you didn't understand the way we fought the battle." They say, "Ah, we don't understand, though. We just say the sword of Gideon. God is powerful, God has taken His glory."
That is what God wants. And you must understand that this gospel of the kingdom is not about the will of the flesh. It's not about the will of man. He said they were not born of any of these things, they were born by God.
Now, what I want to really bring out from that scripture, what I talked to John chapter 10, is that this time that we are in, is no more a time that God should be mystified for anybody. No, he said God has made it plain in Jesus. If anybody enters through Jesus, when he goes in and comes out, what will he find? He will find pasture. There will be revelation, there will be insight, there will be foresight, there will be understanding. You will find pasture.
And that is what John was trying to say that you don't need that any man teach you, "Know the Lord." But the same anointing that you have received, the same will teach you all things. And whatever it teaches you, by His you will abide. Is He saying that there will be no teachers? It's not against about it, it's not about against teachers or whatever. But what he's saying is this: is that all the effort of all the teachers, all the apostles, all the prophets, all of them put together will abate to nothing if God don't give increase.
What will eventually make you to find pasture is that you enters through Jesus. So that when the apostles, when the prophets, when the pastors, when they are teaching, what will happen? What will happen? The Spirit of Jesus, the Spirit of Christ in you will make you understand Christ that they are talking about. And that is why when they are not talking about Christ, your spirit will resist it. I'm telling you the truth.
When they are not talking about Christ, something will, "Uh-uh, uh-uh." You may not understand it, but this is not about Christ. Because there's an anointing you receive, there's something about Christ. You may not be able to put it, but, "This thing, I can't fix it. But something, ah, this thing, I can't fix it." Do you know why? Because anybody who enters through Him, if he goes in and comes out, he can never be starving.
He can never be starving. Look, in those days, go and check it. The Bible says He made His acts to the people, He showed them His acts, but to Moses He showed them His ways. But do you remember that actually ever from the beginning of time God never wanted to show the people just His acts? God brought all of them to show them His ways. They were the ones that said, "Let Moses go and hear and come and tell us."
But what God wanted was what? Everybody, come and hear. Come and experience me, come and see me, so that you can understand Moses as he leads you. Do you know that when the Spirit of God works in people, they become easier to lead? That is what most of us don't understand. "Oh, don't let them know, don't let them know, don't let them know, let us mystify it so that we alone..." You will be leading rebellious people. They will be so difficult to lead.
But if while you are picking a revelation, the Spirit of God is revealing to somebody there, he says, "Ah, sister, my spirit is confirming what you are saying. Something in me confirms, in fact, the Lord was speaking to me the day before yesterday, and he was telling me that we need to go this direction." It becomes they become easier to lead. Don't mystify Christ to people.
What I'm saying is that God is in Jesus. The first thing about this gospel of the kingdom is that God wants to make everything plain. I will stop here today. We will pray. I will leave the matter here. We are looking at the gospel of the kingdom. We will take the matter from here next week. Let us talk to the Lord very briefly. Please just talk to the Lord. I don't know what I've told you today, I don't know what you have gotten today, but I'm still just laying the background to the discussion. I'm just try to lay the background.
And I want you to begin to see this matter of the gospel of the kingdom. The gospel of the kingdom tells us that you don't need to pride yourself over people. It may just be that it is your own time that God is revealing something better, while others did not know it was because God was not trying to make it plain then. So, don't pride yourself over people. Don't carry this spirit of superiority complex because of some revelations God allow you to enter into. Be careful about the spirit of arrogance. Be careful about pride. Be careful about arrogance and pride.
God did not save us according to our works. He saved us according to His own purpose and grace. It was because it is the purpose of God for you to have that revelation. That is why you are having it. Joseph was not better than his brothers. It was because it was in him that God had proposed that they will be saved. That was why the thing worked that way. We need to get this thing clear and be very careful about arrogance.
The gospel of the kingdom, the gospel of the kingdom is also making us to know that this, God want to make things plain. The things were done before time. But I'm telling you in Jesus God want to make it plain. Anybody who actually enters through Jesus, who didn't enter by the will of the flesh, who didn't enter by the will of man, you were not cajoled to come and meet Jesus. "You see, take Jesus so that you can pass your exam. You see, have Jesus so that you will not be sick." You were not cajoled to Jesus. You encountered Jesus and you entered through Jesus. I'm telling you, you will go in and come out and you will find pasture.
If you are not born by the will of the flesh, if you are not born by the will of men, if you are born by God, I am telling you, you will go in and you will come out and things will be getting plain to you. The gospel of the kingdom make us to understand that, see, it is God that works. Paul said, "He who began the good work in me is able to finish it." It is God that works. Olorun lo n sise re. E k'enikeni ma gba ogo Olorun. It is God that works in us. Paul plant Apollos waters. That is what the gospel of the kingdom reveals to us. It is God that works in the gospel of the kingdom. It is God that works.
I want you to pray and talk to the Lord. "O Lord God, teach me Your ways. Make things plain. Make them plain. Make them plain." Please let someone come and close this meeting. Lord make them plain. Lord make them plain. In the name of Jesus Christ.
Our Father in heaven, we are grateful to You for the power of Your word. Thank You for the revelation of Your word this evening. Thank You for opening our eyes to the fact that we are in the best dispensation that can be: the dispensation of Christ Jesus, when the truth and the mystery of the kingdom has been fully revealed.
We are privileged people. We are grateful for this privilege we have in You. Accept our thanks in Jesus' name. Thank You for what You have told us tonight, that, Lord, we need not follow another man to know Jesus. The veil it has been rented, it has been torn. We can go in by ourselves and receive pasture.
Thank You for this revelation, Lord, in Jesus' name. Father, we come before You, O Lord. Please open our eyes to see. Open our understanding to grasp and to be able to walk in the truth in the name of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus has been revealed, the truth has been revealed. We are asking the Lord You will help us by Your grace and power to walk and to live by this truth in the name of Jesus Christ. And as often as we open the scriptures, O Lord, let our eyes behold the truth and let our life be transformed by the power of the truth in the name of Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Father, for Your son that You have used again tonight. We are asking the Lord You will increase him more and more. You will cause his eyes to be brightened, You will cause his understanding to be enlightened in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer as we go let Your presence go with us, abide with us, and help us to abide in You. For in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
The grace together in fellowship. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forever more. Amen.
