[Speaker 1]
This morning I saw something in the scripture and I said, "God, I want to be like You." When you are dealing... I don't know. Somebody asked me something. "Daddy," he was saying, "it's as if you are always... you always have something to say." I said I don't always have something to say. It's because God is always talking to me. I don't always have something to say. But I've come to see that God is never quiet. God is always talking. The way I've come to see God now is that God is like an FM radio. If you just get for example, say if you say that God is at the FM radio for instance now, once you just tune to 88.9, you'll just be hearing things. If you tune away, you'll feel that He's not speaking again. If you tune back, there's a program going on. There's always something God is saying. That's what I've come to find out about God. I now begin to understand what Apostle Paul was trying to say when he said, "Pray without ceasing." The way you can constantly be with God, it's not only when you kneel down and say in the name of Jesus. There's a way you can be walking, you are talking and He's talking back to you. You can be doing something. You can be driving, He's speaking back to you. You can be writing exam, He's talking to you. You can be in the market buying something, He's saying something. I mean, you can pray without ceasing. God always has something to say.
[Speaker 2]
God always has something to say.
[Speaker 1]
I don't always have something to say. But maybe perhaps because I always hear God saying something, so I always have something to say. And I'm telling you, the more you drink of God, the more you realize that you've not even taken a spoon. When you have not drunk of God, you will think as if God is exhausted. You cannot exhaust God. God wants to talk about everything. He wants to speak about everything. He wants to say something about everything. You see the scripture that says "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct." God wants to say something about all your ways. The Lord will help us. And honestly, that has been what I see God dealing with me in the last six months. The last six months of this year, it has been "Come closer. Come closer. Come, let's talk. Come closer." And sometimes I still find myself as an individual, I'm telling my own experience. Once I'm doing something, because I spend some little time here, I just check, "Ah! How much time have I spent on this?" I begin to compare. "30 minutes on television today. How many minutes on the Bible? Which one is higher?" Before this month, it would be higher. And you just see yourself, you are just calculating, you are wanting to harvest more time to be here and little, little time on all the other things. I find myself harvesting time. Deliberately looking at how time is being... how the allocation of my time... daily I'm trying to look at how much time have I allocated to this in comparison to this. And if I see that yesterday I allocated too much time to this one as against this one, I say, "Okay, today I must make up for that yesterday. I want to add..." and you are bringing yourself. And I'm telling you, it has been awesome. When I tell people that, "Wow, I saw something!" And people say, "Ah! Baba Olawale, there's nothing you have never seen before." I say, "Ah, you don't understand." Man at his best is still man. Limited, vulnerable, porous, mortal. You understand me? He can never... let me give you an example. If by the time God will have taught me all He needed to teach me in time, I will still be an infinitesimal aspect of God. After God will have taught me all I need to know about Him in time, I will still be an infinitesimal aspect. I want to make you see how big... somebody said he was caught to the third heaven and he saw things that it's not lawful for man to hear. The man had so much abundance of revelation that God saw that this person is going to become proud because of abundance of revelation. God had to give him a thorn in the flesh. He went to God to pray. God said no. He prayed again. God said no. The third time God said, "Look, no. I'm leaving this thing there so that you don't forget that you are still man." Just God put one infirmity there. I don't know, maybe the fact that they will always beat him. They will always beat him. After all his preaching, they will always beat him. Because if he's just going and just finished someone wants to beat him, the person's hand just gets suspended... they say, "Ah, this man is a spirit!" But God allowed men to slap him, bunk him, join so that he's still man, despite all the revelation. I don't know what that infirmity is. Some say it's elephantiasis that he had toward the end of his ministry. That he prayed and prayed and prayed and God refused to heal so that God can just be making him remember that Paul, you are still man. You are not spirit. And yet when Paul was to speak in 1 Corinthians 13, he said, "We know in part and we understand in part." He said for now we see through a glass, darkly. We are not seeing it clearly. If Paul could talk like that, I'm telling you that there's so much in God. There's so much in God. Let's draw nearer. Let's draw closer. Let's allocate more time to be on the frequency of God. Be on that frequency. There is so much to hear in that frequency. All that you have heard is bit too tiny to all that you need to hear. That has been my motto. That it's too tiny. There's so much more to hear. And I pray we step into that in Jesus' name.
Today I want us to look at another ordinance of the gospel. Something that was revealed when the gospel came. And many times we don't see that it is an ordinance. And people don't seem to work by it. They don't seem to work by it and to understand it. Another ordinance of the gospel is the revelation of God as Father. The revelation of God as Father. The revelation of God as Father. Do you know it's an ordinance of the gospel? The revelation of God as Father. Sometimes you don't know how wonderful that is. But as we dwell through this ordinance, I pray that you will move from a servant-hood mentality in your walk with God to a child-hood mentality in your walk with God.
You see, ever before Jesus came to the scene, nobody can address God as Father. Does that sound strange? If you are wondering in your heart, let's discuss it. Ever before Jesus came, nobody... Moses could not call God Father. Abraham could not call Him Father. What I'm trying to tell you is that there are dimensions of God that God reveals per time, per revelation. For example, look at what God was telling Moses in Exodus. Look at what God was telling Moses in Exodus. Look at Exodus 3:11. Now in Exodus 3, God appears to Moses and there was a discussion between God and Moses, "I am this, I am that, I am this. Tell them that I am this, the God of Abraham, the God of..." if you look at Chapter 3, now verse 11, "And Moses said unto God, 'Who am I that I should go unto Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?' And He said, 'Certainly I will be with thee, and this shall be the token unto thee that I have sent thee. When thou hast brought the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.'" Then Moses was asking God... and Moses said unto God, "Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel and I say unto them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me unto you,' and they shall say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say unto them?" And God said unto Moses, "I AM THAT I AM." And He said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, 'I AM hath sent me unto you.'" And God said unto Moses, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you. This is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.'" Now, you notice that God took the name in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But look at something that happened in Chapter 6. That's why I said we are going to verse 3 in Chapter 6. Then the LORD said unto Moses, "Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand shall he let the people go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land." And God spoke unto Moses and He said unto him, "I am the LORD. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob," those three people by which God's name is called, He appeared to them by which name? Verse 3 of Chapter 6. By which name? "The name of God Almighty. But by my name Jehovah I was not known to them." Are you seeing God? Look at all the work that Abraham had with God. Look at how close they moved, that God would not do anything without telling Abraham. Yet all that Abraham knew was just that He's Almighty. God have another revelation now. This one He want to show it to Moses. "My name Jehovah. I have another part." Three successive generation walked with God and they knew just one part. And when you see them, how would you describe Abraham? Abraham's blessing are mine. He's the father of faith, he's this, he's that. I'm trying to make you see God. And He said, "I want to show another dimension." What is this dimension? The dimension of battle. That I am a man of battle. That is the one I want to reveal through you to Pharaoh. I want to show Pharaoh that there is this man with a strong hand that can kill and destroy and scatter. I want to show another dimension of Me.
So what I'm trying to make you see is that there was a successive revelation of God. Revelation of God, revelation of God, on and on and on. But when the gospel was to be revealed, God showed another aspect of Him. And that is the aspect of our Father. It was something looking strange. The Jews, they said, "How can You, being a man, say You are the Son of God? How can You be making yourself equal to God? That which is born of God is God. That which is born of cow is cow." So if Jesus says He is Son of God, what is He saying? He's saying He's God. "How can You be man, say You are the Son of God? Are You greater than Abraham our father? He never tried such a thing." And that was very strange to them. And when He was saying before Abraham was I am, they said, "Now we know You have a demon." Because to them it was a strange thing. And that is still the struggle that Islam have with Christianity. "God doesn't give birth to anybody. You are the child of God. How can you say child? Do you know what you are saying?" To them, how can you say child? Do you know what you are saying? You see many times we don't even understand it. We don't even know the implication. When Jesus suddenly came and said to the disciples, "When
