[Speaker 1]
Let us offer a word of prayer. Everlasting Father, we are grateful unto You. We thank You for Your love. We thank You for Your mercy. We thank You for Your goodness. We thank You for Your grace. We thank You for preservation. We thank You, Lord our God, for provision, for supply. We thank You for redemption. We thank You for justification, forgiveness of sin. We are really grateful. Lord, accept our thanks in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, unto You we all gathered this evening, we who are here physically, our brethren who are joining us online, unto You we all gathered. Lord, as we try to look into scriptures again, to fellowship with the scriptures, Lord, we are praying that Your Spirit will work within us, among us, everywhere we are located this evening, connecting with this program, joining this program in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our desire is that You will meet us individually at the various points of our needs. You will give us instructions and direction in our heart. You will grant strength and encouragement in the name of Jesus Christ. Oh Lord, strengthen us in our inner man. Thank You, eternal Father. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Amen!
We thank God that last week we were able to come to the conclusion of a topic that took us almost about two months to go through: "The Ultimate Trophy to Win and God's Concept of Long Life." We were able to come to a conclusion last week for that series, and we trust the Lord that the various instruction in righteousness that came to our heart will be an experiential, not just head knowledge, in the name of Jesus Christ.
So, today's discipleship class, we are starting a new topic. The topic is "The Weapons of Our Warfare are Not Carnal." The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. And we took that topic actually from 2 Corinthians 10. 2 Corinthians 10, the topic is actually in the verse 4. From the verse 3, the Bible read that:
"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war against the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds."
And that was where we took the topic from: "The Weapons of Our Warfare are Not Carnal." So, the scripture was speaking in this place, making us to understand a divine instruction. And I want to read these verses of the scripture in different translations of the Bible. Now, in the—I just read the KJV.
In the NLT, it says: "We are human, but we don't wage war with human plans and method. Rather, we use God's mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the devil's strongholds."
In the NIV, the NIV says: "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."
The Message: "The world is unprincipled. It is dog-eat-dog out there. The world doesn't fight fair, but we don't live or fight our battles that way. Never have, and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing the entire massive-corrupt culture."
And then the Amplified Bible for these two verses: "For though we walk—that is, live—in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare, they are not physical weapons of flesh and blood, but they are mighty through God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds."
Now, when we look at all of these translations, something comes out very clear: that when it comes to battle, there is the God's method and there is the world's method. And what we want to try to look into this evening is trying to understand this method of God. Not only to understand it, but also to appreciate it. Not only to appreciate it, but also to value it. Not only to value it, but also to believe in it. Not only to believe in it, but also to practice it.
This method of God, and that is why we are looking at the weapon of our warfare, mighty through God. What is this method like? How does it operate? We are going to look at some things in the New Testament, and then we'll use a biblical example to illustrate, to drive home what we are saying. The first thing I want to call our attention to about this matter of the weapon of our warfare is that in 1 Corinthians 1.
In 1 Corinthians 1, the scripture noted something very important beginning from verse 18: "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God." For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. Note, they are perishing, continuous, present continuous. And when it came to us, "but for us who are being saved," the same thing. It is the power of God. It is the power of God.
And it is so interesting to me to see that even the NLT put it in almost the same way. The NLT says, "I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction." You see it? They are on the road to destruction. "But we who are being"—do you see it? Present continuous. It is not "who have been saved." No. We are being saved.
That's one important thing I'm first trying to make you see about the principle of understanding the weapon of our warfare. It is not that it is something that saved us. No, it is beyond that. It is something that saved us, it is something that is saving us, it is something that will save us.
Now, talking about the Gospel, it says the weapon of our warfare, they are not carnal. That is 2 Corinthians 10. Now, when it came to this aspect of the scripture, the Bible makes us to understand that, "I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction." Now, but that message of the cross, what is it? The Bible says it is the very power of God.
So, what is the power of God? The message of the cross. The message, the power of God is actually the Gospel. When the Bible says the weapon of our warfare, they are not carnal, but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, what is actually the power of God when we say it's mighty through God? What is the power of God is actually the Gospel. The Gospel is the power of God. Do you want to know what the power of God is? Do you want to operate the power of God? Do you want to manifest the power of God? The power of God is the Gospel.
It means if a man doesn't truly believe, or number one, if a man doesn't know what God said, and if a man doesn't believe what God said, such that he can act on what God said, the man can never be powerful in God. The Gospel is simply what God said. God said that Jesus died and rose again. So, I'm trying to make you get something. The weapon of our warfare, they are not carnal. That weapon, that thing that is mighty through God, is the ability, it is for a man to come to know what God said, to believe what God said, and to act on what God said. Because the Gospel is simply, "what did God say?"
God said that, "For God so loved..." So, what God said is the Gospel. What God said is the power of God. If you want to operate God's power, if you want to operate this mighty weapon, it is coming to know what God said, coming to appreciate what God said, coming to value what God said, coming to believe what God said, coming to act on what God said. That is the weapon of our warfare.
A song says, "God said it, I believe it, that settles it." Now, the Bible is making us to see actually that, however, when you look at it from the human point of view, this kind of power does not really look like something sensible. It says it is foolishness to them that are perishing, that are on their road to destruction. When you look at it from the human angle, it looks weak. It looks foolish. It doesn't look like something that works. It doesn't look like something to rely on, that which God said.
But in looking at that which God said, I want to read a little bit further in this place. I'll read a little bit further 1 Corinthians 1. I'm going now to verse 19 downwards. "For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and I will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For the Jews request a sign, the Greeks seek for wisdom. But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, to the Greeks foolishness. But to us who are called, both Greeks and Jews, Christ the power of God and Christ the wisdom of God."
Please, I want you to go back to verse 23. Look at what it says. In the verse 18, it said the message of the cross. In the verse 23, what is the message of the cross? "We preach Christ." So, the message of the cross is what? To preach Christ. I hope you are getting it. So, when we say the Gospel, what do we mean by the Gospel? What is the Gospel? It's Christ, to preach Christ.
Now, we are now seeing something: that to preach Christ, what is it about Christ? To preach Christ crucified. Please, be noting it. To preach Christ crucified to the Jews, we preach it, it is a stumbling block. To the Greeks, it's foolishness. But to us who believe, both Greeks and Jews, that Christ that we preach is what? Is the power of God and is what? The wisdom of God.
So, we are looking at something. The wise way that God destroys strongholds is by the Gospel. It is the wisdom of God and it is the power of God. If you want to know the wise way through which God destroys strongholds, through which God demolishes every works of the devil, every arsenal of the enemy, every workings of the devil in any way, it is the wise way that God does it. The wise way through which God displays His power is the preaching of Christ crucified.
Which means, if it is preaching, what are we preaching? We are preaching words. What is the substance of a preaching? Is it not words? These words are what? The words of God, the words what God said. Now, look at something about what God said. Hebrews 4. Look at something about what God said. Hebrews 4:12. What did the Bible say about that which is the Word of God?
"For the Word of God is alive and powerful and it is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joints and marrow, and exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."
Have you seen what it does? Have you seen what it is doing? Even in our innermost thoughts and our desires. What does it do with them? It exposes them, it cuts through them, it divides them, it puts them asunder, it breaks them into pieces, it shatters them and establishes its purpose. Now, we are talking about the Word of God. We are saying that what you call preaching is the Word of God.
What is the nature, what is the capacity of this weapon of our warfare? It is that if you know the sharpest sword in this world, if you know the one that is the sharpest, it is sharper than the sharpest. Now, you'll be wondering why did the Bible say it is sharper than two-edged sword? Do you know why? Okay. In those days, what is the instrument for when you say weapon for war, for battle? It is sword.
That's why when you look at Ephesians 6 talking about the armory of war, it said the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, then it now talk about and what? The sword of the Spirit. So, in those days, because there was nothing like the use of technology so much in war, is that footmen, they march to the war. And then even the ones on chariot, what will they hold? They will hold sword to fight and fight and fight and fight.
So, if you want to bring this thing to our own days, have you seen the fastest warplane? The Word of God is faster than it. Have you seen the fastest, have you seen the ballistic missiles that can wantonly destroy? Oh, are you looking for the most sophisticated? The Word of God is that one. Are you looking for unmanned drone that will go with precision to the exact place you want it to go? The way the US use unmanned drone to kill Soleimani the other time in his country, they didn't leave their country, and it went straight as the man was coming down from the airport, coming down from the plane in the airport. The thing just went and killed him. It didn't kill any other person. It just killed—it was nobody was inside. It went with such precision. Do you want something that will go to the precise and exact place to do what you want to do? There is none like the Word of God.
So, the reason why they were saying in those days they use sword. But if you now want to use a powerful sword, it will be both sides that is so sharp. So, even the best of the weapon of those days, the Word of God is better than it. So, what it is telling us, if we even want to write it today, we will not put "sharper than two-edged sword." We will put what is in our own time and begin to put it in that place that look, if you are looking for the best weapon of war, the most sophisticated, the most advanced, are you looking for a warship that will go and destroy precisely? Are you looking for rockets that will go? Are you looking for atomic missiles? Are you looking for nuclear weapon? That is the highest now of all of them. Talking of hydrogen bomb, T weapon. If you are looking for the most sophisticated, the Word of God is better than any of them.
That's what the Bible is trying to make you understand. It says, "Look, the Word of God. The Word of God," the reason why it is sharper than them, it says the Word of God is living. It's actually a living—it's a person. It's living. It's alive. The Word of God is something, is someone. The Word of God is a person. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and that Word was God. Through Him, all things were made. Not a thing was not made that was made. Later, it says, "And the Word became flesh."
When He became flesh, we saw Him. That was the Word, He took on flesh. When He put on flesh, He began to move on earth. He began to do miracles, signs, and wonders. He began to heal. The Word was persecuted. That Word was killed, crucified. That Word rose again the third day. He ascended to heaven. It is the same Word of God.
And what is it that make this Word stronger than the most sophisticated weapons that we have today, the most technologically advanced weapon that even the one they are still trying to make? It is still nothing compared to this Word of God. Why? The first one we are seeing is that the best weapon of those days was this, and until now, none can ever be. But let's look at something a little more closely about this Word of God. Hebrews 11.
Hebrews 11, talking about this Word of God, talking about this Word of God. Hebrews 11 from verse 1. We are looking at what is the weapon of our warfare. The weapon of our warfare is the most technologically advanced weapon that you can talk about. It is the most powerful and the most effective. It can cut, it can—it goes to the soul and the spirit, the marrow. It can do anything. We are seeing that the thought, the thinking of men, the feeling of men, the emotions of men, the mind of men, it can go and do something about it. It can rewrite it. Look at when Paul encounter, when Saul encounter the Word of God. What happened to Saul? Saul became Paul.
His configuration, his thinking, his imagination, his thought, his bones, his emotion, his desire, his purpose, everything—what happened to him? Everything changed within hours of encounter, he became someone else. There is no advanced weapon that can change human being like that. Is there any weapon? The highest it can do is to kill it. There is no weapon, there is no technologically advanced weapon that can encounter a man, and within that encounter change his thought, change his emotion, change his philosophy, change his belief, change his purpose, change his pursuit, change his desire, change his ambition, change his become somebody else just within 24 hours. Tell me which weapon is as advanced as that that man has made? There is none.
That's what the Bible is trying to make you understand: that there is no—when it comes to that world, man doesn't have one. But it's not only there. We are looking at this weapon of our warfare. It can do that. That's why it talked about man, a discerner of the thought, the soul, the spirit. And you will think that is all this weapon can do. That is just one of them. Look at in Hebrews 11, it gave us another dimension to what this weapon can do. This weapon of our warfare.
Look at Hebrews 11. It says, I begin from verse 1. It says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for." Faith is the substance of things hoped for. "The evidence of things not seen. For by it, the elders obtained a good testimony." Now, look at it. It says, "By faith, we understand that"—what? "That the worlds"—please, note that place, it's not "the world." "The worlds." Some other translation will say the universe. Am I correct? Am I correct? The universe. So, don't just be thinking that we are talking about the earth. Talking about the whole universe, the galaxies, the space, the sun, the moon, the earth and its nine planet: Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Pluto, all of those things. "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by"—what? "By the Word of God."
"So that the things which are seen were not made from the things which are visible." You know what it's saying again? When you leave ability to change human beings within hours of an encounter. Look at just one word: "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." That became an eternal hook that hooked fishermen and they left their purpose and became another men. Because that Word is quick and it can divide the soul from the spirit. It does not end there. It's now making us to understand that what they are trying to sustain was created by this Word.
Are you getting the point I'm trying to make again? I'm trying to make you understand the power of this weapon of our warfare. The might, what they are trying to understand. They are still trying to understand moon. They have still not gone to Mars, to Jupiter, to Pluto, to Mercury, whatever thing that is in all of those ones. If you ask the Word, the Word will tell you, "This is how I made it. This is what is there. Are you trying to know this one? This is what is there." The Word, the Bible says that by faith we were able to understand that the universe that they are trying to discover—I read something again, they said they recently discovered something very new about the peculiarity of a particular part of the space. They are still discovering. What with one, with just "Let there be," and there was.
"Let there be." They are still all the years of invention and discovery and technology. They are still trying to discover some of them. And let me tell you, they still cannot explain some of them. I was reading something, do you know I was reading something today about glaucoma? Glaucoma is actually an eye problem. And I read extensively about it. And they said that medical doctors could not explain the relationship between the eye pressure and glaucoma. They still cannot give a thorough explanation of how it happens. You know what I'm trying to make you understand? What man is still trying to understand was just something that the Word put in place since seconds. Let there be, and there was.
I'm talking about the power that is in the weapon of our warfare. I'm trying to make you understand why you must come to know, come to appreciate, come to value, come to believe, and come to put into practice this weapon of our warfare. If there's something you are trying to believe, if there's something you think is so powerful, if there's something you think is so great, if there's something you think is so sophisticated, can I announce for you this evening? None of them is as powerful as the weapon of our warfare. None is as powerful as this weapon of our warfare.
It is this weapon of our warfare. It is by it that the universe was made. So that the things that you see, they are not made from the things that appear. They were made by the Word. And like I normally tell people, you can see a corollary of that when you look at what happens in the kingdom of darkness. Because you must remember, power belongs to God. And when we talk about power belongs to God, God execute whatever He wants to do by His Word. He says, "He send His Word and His Word healed them. He send His Word and His Word delivered them," because the Word of God is a person. It is the Word of God is the executor of the counsel of the decisions of God. When God had a counsel, when God had a decision, when God had a plan, He said His Word to go and do it.
Somebody who had a close understanding of this Word of God was the Centurion. When Jesus met with the Centurion, the Centurion said, "I have a servant that is sick," and they have pleaded with Jesus. And he said, "Lord, Lord, Master, You don't need to come to my house. You don't need to come. You don't need to come to my house. Master, You see, me too, I'm a man under authority. I'm a man under authority. I have soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes. I tell this one, 'Come,' and he comes." He said, "You too, just speak the Word and my servant will be well." That man have a clear understanding of what he was trying to say. He was able to understand that the Word of God is the executor of God's counsel. And all that Jesus needed to do was just to give a command, to say, "Let there be this," and that Word will go to execute that counsel.
What I'm trying to make you see, that when you look at the powers of darkness, trying to explain this thing. Power belongs to God. The power you see in Satan actually belongs to God, because Satan himself was created by God. So, whatever power, whatever power you see in him, is just something that was created, that was in God, that has not been withdrawn by God. You get the point I'm making?
Now, look at something. Look at something. The point I'm trying to make is this: when you look at the devil, the power of the devil, the work of the devil, and whatever of the devil, when you look at it, if you look at what we do in Christian drama. When you see what we do, what do we do? Somebody want to—somebody want to act as an evil person. And then he go somewhere, they want to kill somebody. And then they just take, they speak the Word. They say, "Look, yes, whatever I say, people must listen. Whatever I speak, it must happen. If I command the stone to speak, it must speak. If I command the rock to melt, it must melt. Toby! Toby! Look, from today, you are no longer a human being. Any stone I throw at you, may that stone kill you." What are they doing? They are speaking words. They are speaking words. Incantation, you call it. They have been incantation. They are speaking because what you call power belongs to God and power is in the Word. So, what you see darkness doing, it's just the power of God, diverted to evil purpose. Because there's no power anyway, power belongs to God.
So, they—after they do something, they speak and then they take something and stab the picture of the person they want to kill. At the other end, the person begin to shout, "Hey, my head, my feet!" They rush the person to the hospital. They will say, "Oh, cancer, cancer." They will say, "Oh, renal failure." Now, that is what the technological instrument, clinical examination, that's what they are seeing. But that thing that is seen, is it created from what appeared? They will say, "The cause of this renal failure must have been as a result of some capillaries that were not working well." They'll begin to study what they see. But what they see is not made from what appeared. What appeared was created by a Word. That is what I'm trying to explain about the Word of God.
That the things that you see, what make them to appear is not what you see. It is made to appear by the Word of God. What I'm trying to make you understand, that the substance of everything you see in the whole universe is the Word of God. Am I making sense to you? The substance, the substance of everything that you see in the whole universe, the substance of everything that you are seeing in the whole universe is what? Is the Word of God.
If you want to truly understand anything in the universe, you can only truly understand their nature and characteristic from—by the Word of God. If you truly want to understand something very, very well, you really want to know the nature, the capacity, the composition of that thing, the only way to truly know it is by the Word of God. Because that thing that you are seeing is not made from the things that appeared. It is made—the substance of that thing is what? Is the Word of God. The substance of the moon is the Word of God. The substance of Mars is the Word of God. The substance of Jupiter is the Word of God. The substance of Mercury is the Word of God. The substance of the solar system is the Word of God. The substance of the sea, everything you see around you, their substance, their nature, their conformation, if you want to truly understand it, you can only understand it by the Word of God.
I am talking about the power that is in the weapon of our warfare. Because believers don't appreciate this weapon, that is why we quickly rush for other methods. That's why we quickly look for other things. That is why you think that it is how much you fight a man, for instance, that you can change him, instead of sending the Word of God that can change a man within 24 hours to another person.
You want to understand the substance of what is happening around you. You want to explain what is going around you. The only way you can truly understand it is by the Word of God. I give you a quick example of a man who understood this. I give another example very, very well. There was—there were soldiers all around Elisha. But Elisha understood that all these things around him, they were nothing. The man who is seeing them, the servant who saw them thought he saw something. What did the servant say? "Master, Master, Master! Alas, Master! Alas, Master! We have been surrounded." For the servant, there was something. For the man who understood the universe from the point of the weapon of our warfare, he saw nothing. The man just said, "Look, they that be with us are more than they that be with them." He noticed that the servant was still reckless, he was still panicking. He said, "God, help this one too to see from the angle that I am seeing." And then he said, "God, open his eyes."
When God opened his eyes, the man was able to understand that everything that he was seeing, their true nature was that they were nothing. They were just something that he just said, "Lord, please blind their eyes." Something that you can just carry around the way a child carry toy. That was how Elisha was seeing them. He just said, "God, blind their eyes." He said, "Who are you looking for?" "We are looking for Elisha." "Elisha is not here!" You know the way a child will be playing with a toy. That was how a man who understand the weapon of our warfare, that was how he handled the whole army of a country.
And then he took them, he took them. He said, "Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me." And then they followed him. He led them into the capital city, that is Samaria. And when they were now there in Samaria, he said, "Okay, Lord, open their eyes." You know the way a baby is playing with toy. "Lord, open their eyes, open their eyes." "Where are we?" He said, "Sit down, calm down, calm down." And then the king said, "Hey, hey! Now we are going to kill them!" He said, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's not how to deal with toys. Can you just cook food for these small, small boys? Cook food for them." They gave them food to eat. He said, "Now, let's send them away. Okay, young boys, okay, go back." You know when they send somebody to go and capture somebody? They now took the person in and then give the person food and say, "Okay, go back, go back to your master, tell your master that you have eaten very well and you are back." Please, what are you doing with all of that thing? You have humiliated, you have reduced, you have made them to see that the things that are seen, they were seeing power in horses, in chariots, in sword. They were seeing power in all of that. But the substance that made power is not in sword, is not in chariot, is not in soldiers. The substance of power is where? Is in the Word of God.
Brethren, we must come to know, we must come to appreciate, we must come to value, we must come to believe in, and we must come to put into practice: what? This weapon of our warfare. Not only that, we can see that everything, the universe was formed. So, the substance of anything is in the Word of God. Is that where the Bible stop? The Bible says no. The Word of God carries us further. Let's look something again about this Word of God. This instrument of our warfare. Can we see Hebrews now? Hebrews again, Hebrews 1. I'm reading from verse 3. Who being the brightness of His glory, talking about Jesus, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power.
Do you get that? That's New KJV. "Who being the brightness of His glory, the express image of His person." He's doing what to all things? He's upholding all things by the Word of His power. What is that telling you? What is allowing the universe to remain as the universe is, is that Word. What is allowing fire to keep burning things is that Word. Let me read this thing for you in another translation, you will appreciate it. You will come to appreciate it. When we read it in other translation. And I want to read it for you in the Amplified translation. It brings it out very, very well. Can we look at the Amplified translation?
"He is the sole expression of the glory of God, the light-being, the out-ray or radiance of the divine, and is the perfect imprint, the very image of God's nature." Look at it. "Upholding." That upholding means "upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling." Are you getting that? "He's upholding, he's maintaining, he's guiding, he's propelling the universe by what? By the mighty Word of His power." So please, people are saying they don't know tomorrow. What is guiding tomorrow? What is deciding where Nigeria is going? The Word of His power. What is—what is deciding where all nations of the world, all where they are going? The Word of His power. Who is deciding how everything will end? The Word of His power. Everything you see in the universe is being upheld, is being maintained, is being guided, is being propelled. They are deciding, "No, no, not this way. Go this way, go that way, move like this." And I want to give you a good illustration of this.
The Bible says that David got to the war with Goliath, and then he took his catapult and then he shot the catapult, and then in the whole of that body, the stone went and just went to the small opening, that small opening in the forehead around the eye. That was where the stone went. Do you think that stone was not guided? Oh, I'm talking about guided missiles. Guided missiles. What is guiding it? Before they begin talk about drone and guided this and guided that, Baba had been using it ever before they came with it. That was a missile, or that was a drone that was not—that was no man, but was guided. [Sound of a missile]. And it just went.
I give another example. The Bible says that Ahab disguised himself and he was in war. And somebody shot an arrow at a venture. You know what that means? Somebody shot it by chance. And then the arrow now began to go inside the war and was going. Was looking for Ahab. I was with a group of brethren sometimes back, and I said they should tell me one technology today that in hours will part a sea, making the bed to be dry ground. The bed will become dry ground. And then within that hours of parting it, the water will become solid. It will become solid to the right and to the left. It became a pillar, something standing. I want you to look for that technology if it have been invented. And then people began to pass.
And that standing was such that it was timed. It has timing to return from solid to liquid. And as the people that they want to pass finished passing, there was sensor. Oh, I'm talking about divine technology. That as they finished, the people they want to pass as they finished, have you seen all these sensor-controlled doors? That will open when you are finished, it will come back again. Tell me which technology can make water like that? Divide it, make it solid. Sensor-controlling, as they step on it, the thing went [mechanical sound], sensor, divine sensor. It opened and became solid. And they marched. When the correct people have finished marching through, the sensor picked it again and said, "No, these ones should not pass." And then it collapsed itself [crashing sound], and that began to come back, began to come back.
Tell me technology that had been invented. I'm talking about the weapon of our warfare. The power that is in the Word of God. The power in what God said. God said, "Tell them to move on." That was all we needed. "Move on, move on, move on, just move on." That was all He said. Just that Word became executor of a counsel.
So, the whole universe, nations upon nations, everywhere they sit in their United this, United that, and they are taking decisions, they cannot decide anything outside the Word of God. They can only decide that which the Word of God has decided. I'm talking about the power of this Word. The power that is in the weapon of our warfare.
I don't know what you are fearing. I don't know what you are afraid of. I don't know what is making your heart to skip. I don't know what is shaking your heart. I don't know what is giving you, you know, discouragement. I don't know what is making your heart to be weary. I don't know the fear that is in your heart. But I'm trying to make you understand the power, the power that is in the weapon of our warfare.
And I saw something, even when it comes to even the command ordinary things of life. A man have toiled all night, all night, all night. He didn't catch—he's an expert fisherman. He didn't catch any fish. There was nothing. And then the Master took his boat, borrowed the boat, and then when he finished, he said, "Okay, throw your nets for fish." And he said, "Master, You don't understand. You don't know it." He said, "During the day like this, all the fish they have gone down. They come up in the night. The day like this, they are no more there. There's nothing to catch." He said, "Anyway, nevertheless, at Your Word." When he threw the net at that Word, what happened to the fish everywhere they were? They knew that they should enter. When you move at the instance of the Word, every other thing move at your instance.
That's what I'm trying to make you understand. They will move at your instance. Every other thing, because every other thing is being maintained, is being propelled, is being guided by what? By the Word of His power. It's very, very, very, very, very important that we see this. That we know this. That we understand this.
I give you another good example for you to know what I'm saying. Peter was in the prison. The Bible says he was chained, right? He was chained left, right, center. There was an iron door of the prison. There was another iron door of the city gate. The angel woke him up. When he woke up, did the angel say, "Chains, remove"? What did the chain—what did they do? They follow. Look, He propels everything in His own direction. They must follow Him. So the chain quickly left. [Mechanical noise]. Yes sir, yes sir, yes sir, yes sir, we are going that direction! They don't need somebody to come and open the padlock again. They don't need all of that. I'm talking about the power that is in the weapon of our warfare.
When Peter got to the prison gate, what happened to the gate? The Bible says and it opened to him at its own accord. Yes, sir! What are they giving attention to? The Word of God. If you can move at the instance of the Word, the universe move at your instance. That's why we are talking today. We'll continue this series next week. If you can move at the instance of the Word of God, that's why I'm begging you, brethren: go and bury your life to know what God is saying about your life. Go and bury your life to know what God is telling you. What you need most is this weapon of our warfare. What you need to battle life, to handle life, is to know what God is telling you. This weapon of what—what did God say? The weapon of our warfare. Is what did God say?
And as you begin to realize that the only sure way to face the matters of your life is to know what God is saying about it. I'm trying to make you see, brethren, I'm talking about the weapon of our warfare. Do you know that the only sure way to handle the matters of your life, the only one that you can be sure—because this is the one that is propelling the universe. This is the one that is guiding, that is maintaining, that is sustaining.
And you remember what we said one time about the sovereignty of God, ability to control that He sits in light, but He reigns in darkness? Remember what we said then in one of our teaching? That Judas left Jesus to go and mastermind how Jesus will be sold. While they got there, they began to bargain. They bargain and bargain and bargain and bargain and bargain. I don't know how they started, but I'm just giving example. Maybe, "No, we pay you—we pay you 15 pieces of silver." He said, "No, I want 50." "Ah, that's too much!" And they began to bargain. This one began to come up, this one began to come down. You know the way we bargain. Because he went to bargain with them. He said, "How much will you give me?" It was a bargain. And they began to bargain and bargain and bargain and bargain.
And then finally they concluded in their kingdom, in their covens, in their meetings. They ended up agreeing for 30 pieces of silver. Even though they were deciding that inside darkness, behind Jesus, they could not decide anything apart from what the Word said through Jeremiah—no, through Zechariah—that they are going to buy Me for 30 pieces of silver. They were doing that somewhere.
What I'm trying to make you understand is that the universe is actually guided. It's like a guided missile. Existence is a guided missile. It's going somewhere. What is guiding it, what is manning it? You know the way you man a particular, when you say you want to use something to destroy something, and you man it and you are guiding it, you are guiding it. What is guiding the universe to where it's going to land is the Word of God.
I'm saying that what determines your tomorrow is that which God has spoken. What determines how your life will end has been spoken. What you need to do is to know what has been said. I give you—concerning career, I give you a practical example. A practical example. Look at when Isaac, there was famine in the land. Genesis 26. You remember the story. There was famine in the land. And Isaac was making up his mind to go down to Egypt, to leave the place. What happened? See what I want you to see better in that story. What I want you to see better in that story, it's a very familiar story, Genesis 26.
Now, it says from verse 1: "There was famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar. Then the Lord appeared to him and said: 'Do not go down to Egypt. Live in the land of which I shall tell you.'" Note, "which I shall tell you." What I'm trying to make you understand is that the best thing that should drive your life is to know what He is telling you.
If you want to know how your life will end, go and know what God is saying. If you want to know how the journey will go, it is just to know what God is saying. What is propelling the universe is that which God says. God has spoken. The universe is being guided, is being maintained, is being propelled. What will happen to Akure? This city, Ilori, that we are in here now, what will happen to Ilori in 30, 40 years' time has been spoken already. There's already a guided—it's already something guiding where Ilori is going. There's something guiding where Akure is going. There's something guiding where Ondo state is going. There's something guiding where Nigeria is going. There's something guiding where America is going. There's something guiding where Russia, Britain, Gulf countries, where all of them are going. You know what that is? Is the weapon of our warfare. Hallelujah!
The weapon of our warfare is what is guiding all of them. If you want to know where your life will end and how your life will end, if you want to know how it's going to go with you, all you need to go is to know what God has spoken. This weapon of what—what did God say? The whole universe, nations upon nations, everywhere they sit in their United this, United that, and they are taking decisions, they cannot decide anything outside the Word of God. They can only decide that which the Word of God has decided. I'm talking about the power of this Word. The power in the weapon of our warfare.
What did God say? The weapon of our warfare. What did God say? Let's begin to pray this evening. It's already 6:24. Wherever you are, wherever you are, we will continue this series. We will continue next week. The weapon of our warfare. The weapon of our warfare. We must know it. You must know what God is telling you. You must appreciate it that this is where everything is being—is going. You must value it, you must give it the highest value. You must believe it and you must act on it.
The focus of this teaching that we are taking is bringing us to know, the need to know, the need to appreciate, the need to value, the need to believe, and the need to act upon the weapon of our warfare. That is that which God is saying. That which God said. That which God is saying. Can you beg the Lord this evening for your life? God, open my eyes. Lord God, the weapon of my warfare is not in how many calculation I can make. It is what You will tell me. Lord, oh God, oh God, as I do my quiet time, may I know what You are telling me. As I pray, may I know what You are telling me. Oh God, it is what You are telling. The weapon of our warfare, may I know what You have said. May I know what You said. May I know what You are doing. God Almighty, the weapon of my warfare. The weapon of my warfare, Lord open my eyes. Lord open my ears. Lord God, oh, speak, make me listening. Oh, let me hear You speaking in accents clear and still, above the storms of passion, above the murmuring of self-will. Above the storms of passion, above the murmuring of self-will. Oh, speak, oh God! Speak, oh God! Speak, oh God! Speak, oh God, that I may live!
Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus. Help us to bury our life in Your Word. Help us, Daddy, Your Word will dwell in us, dwell in us richly to all wisdom. Oh God, that Your Word may dwell in us richly to all wisdom. Oh, the Psalmist said Your Word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path. Your Psalmist said I have found riches in Your Word, in Your Word I find riches greater than the spoilt of mighty men, greater than the spoilt of war. In Your Word I find riches. He said, "Oh, I treasure Your Word more than my necessary food." Oh Lord, bring us into this realm of Your Word, into the quickness and the activeness of Your Word. Your Word is quick, Your Word is active. Your Word is quick, Your Word is powerful. Bring us into all of this, oh God, bring us into the reality of Your Word. Thank You, Father. Blessed be Your holy name, Jesus. Thank You, almighty God. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Let's share the grace together this evening: the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forevermore.
