What a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve. Oh, what a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve. What a mighty God we serve.
Everlasting Father, we worship you. We bless your holy name again as we gather this evening. We thank you for the privilege of life. Thank you for your many blessings. Thank you, Lord our God, for peace, for rest, for quietness. Thank you for how you have been helping us. This is the 10th month of the year. It has been you since January. And every time we gather, Lord, in your own way, you meet with us and diversely, severally, you attend to our situation. Lord, as we gather again today, we are looking up unto you. Let our gathering be unto you, not unto ourselves, in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, meet with us individually. Meet with us collectively. Our brethren who are joining us on Telegram, our brethren who are joining us on Mixlr, Lord, we all connect together this evening. Lord, speak to every one of us. Meet us at our individual junctions. Thank you, Eternal Father. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
So, we are looking at the matter we started last week. That's the matter of "Thy Kingdom Come." Thy Kingdom Come. And we looked at that matter, trying to establish some very important things last week. We have been able to establish three things in the first episode. And the first one is this: Jesus came to establish a kingdom. Jesus did not come to establish a denomination. Jesus didn't come to establish the Deeper Life, Chapel of Faith, Redeemed Church, Living Faith. He didn't come to establish that. What he came to establish is a kingdom. He said, "Repent because the kingdom of God is at hand." So, while we are in our local churches—I may be a Redeemer, you may be Living Faith, somebody else is Four Square, somebody else is Baptist, somebody else is Anglican, like that—our one focus is making sure we are not just church people, we are kingdom people.
What unites all of us together is the kingdom life. So, Jesus came to establish a kingdom. Regardless of the denomination to which we may belong, one thing that ties all of us together is that there is just one kingdom. That kingdom has one Lord. It has one God, one Savior, one hope, one baptism, one resurrection. It is all of these things that makes you to understand is one head, one body. Because marriage represent that same kingdom. I keep telling people if you understand God properly, you will know that animals are polygamist and polygamists are animals. That is the reality of this kingdom. It is whether you understand the principles of this kingdom or not.
Now, we said Jesus came to establish a kingdom. So, we must learn to go beyond our local assembly. We must learn to what to establish in our hearts is the kingdom life. Is the kingdom life. As an Anglican, as a Baptist, as a Redeemer, as Four Square person, am I walking in the kingdom? Am I living by the kingdom principle? Am I having a kingdom lifestyle? Am I moved by the principles and the demands of the kingdom?
So, when Jesus said, "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come," the concern of Jesus is for the kingdom of God to come. And where is that kingdom coming? Is how to establish that kingdom on earth. How to make that kingdom to be established. And establishing that kingdom, we should not be ignorant. That kingdom is established in the hearts of men who now shine as light, who shine as light to men who are in darkness. So, it's not about wanting to put one physical king somewhere or one physical Lord somewhere. No, God is spirit. Those to worship him, worship him in spirit and in truth. So, it's not just about a physical kingdom. It's about establishing the life of God, the ways of God, the conducts of God, the ordinances of God, the principles of God in the hearts of men. That is what Jesus came to do. That was one thing we established last week.
The second thing that we established last week, because it is from there we want to move on this evening and I'm trying to make all of us connect together so that we can be at the same spot together. Now, the second thing that we established last week was that it is important for us to know that when the primary reason for the things we do in life is what to eat, what to drink, and what to wear, then we cannot be counted as kingdom people. It is the Gentiles that live that way. For kingdom people, the primary thing, what is the first thing in their life? Their first preoccupation in life for whatever they are doing is, how does this please God? How does this promotes God? How does this agrees with God? How does this showcases Jesus?
That is the first thing. What comes first in their life? Their first preoccupation in life for whatever they are doing is how the kingdom of God, how Jesus, how the burden of God can be established. And I gave a typical example: In taking a job, a kingdom mind is concerned with: is it the purpose of God for me? How does this help me to further what God want me to do in life? How does this—that is a concern. For somebody who is not of the kingdom, the primary concern is not that. The primary concern is, "Wow, what is the pay?" It's not as if what is the pay is a bad thing and that is what I established last week. Somebody said, "I will follow you, but let me first go and bury my father." That person going to bury his father is not a wrong thing. But Jesus said, "Let the dead bury their dead. You go and preach the kingdom of God." Another person said, "I will follow you. Let me first go and tell them at home that I'm following you." Of course, going to tell people at home that you are following Jesus is not a bad thing. But Jesus answered that anyone who put his hand on the plow and look back is not fit for the kingdom.
So, Jesus wasn't saying that burying our dead is a wrong thing. Jesus wasn't saying that going to tell our family members, "I have decided for Jesus" is a wrong thing. But he was saying something they said in their statement. They said, "Let me first go." For Jesus, that can't be first. That should be second or third or fourth or fifth. For Jesus, he says, "Seek ye first the kingdom" (Matthew 6:33). The first thing when it comes to kingdom people is the kingdom. Some other things come second, some other things come third, some other things come fourth, some other things come fifth. But in their priority in life, what comes first is the kingdom.
So, anybody who does not seek first the kingdom does not belong to the kingdom. That's the position of Jesus. It is the kingdom first. If anything comes first and then the kingdom becomes second, then you are not worthy of the kingdom. So, it is important. Some people say that, "I'm serving God, that's why I did not read my books. I'm serving God, that is why I didn't have time for my children." I'm serving God—that is foolishness. Jesus did not say seek ye only the kingdom. He said seek the kingdom first. When you put the kingdom in order, how you are supposed to take care of your children in the correct way will be clear. How you are supposed to read your books in the correct way will be clear. How you are supposed to manage your husband and your wife in the correct order will be clear. How you will need to do things in the correct order will now become clear. But once the kingdom doesn't come first, the correct way to manage money will not be clear. The correct way to manage your family will not be clear. The correct way to handle academics will not be clear. You will not mind to cut corners to get a first class. Why? Because the kingdom don't come first. Righteousness will not be your concern in your making of money. Truthfulness will not be your concern in your handling your children. Faithfulness will not be your concern in your dealing with your spouses. Integrity will not be your concern in your dealing with your parents. So, the kingdom comes first. That was the second thing we established last week.
That for anybody who truly belongs to the kingdom, the first thing about their life is the kingdom. Once anything comes first, then something is wrong. What did we say is wrong? We said then you are of men who are of this world. The men who are of this world, we saw their life. The Bible says they are hopelessly confused. Then you are a confused person. Anybody who don't put God's kingdom and his righteousness first is a confused person. Is a confused person. That's the reality. He's a confused person. That was the second thing we established last week.
The third thing that we established last week is that we saw that Jesus was saying, "Lord, thy kingdom come. Thy kingdom come." Jesus was teaching them how to pray. And he was saying, "When you pray, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." After you have said who is in heaven, after you have worshipped him, what is the first thing? "Let this your kingdom, your kingdom..." We saw that something is a serious matter as far as Jesus is concerned, is how the kingdom of God can come. So, I said last week, that was our concluding thing, that Jesus is seeking today—there is something the Lord is seeking. The Lord is not seeking church people. We must get that very clear. The Lord is not seeking church people. Not as if belonging to a church is wrong. I'm a member of a church, I do tell people. I am active in my church. I belong to an activity group in my church. But that is not what Jesus is primarily seeking. Jesus is seeking for people. You know he said you are the salt of the earth? And I want to ask you, where is salt useful? Is salt ever useful as a lump? Salt, is it useful as a lump? Is salt useful inside salt?
So, salt is not useful as a lump. It is when you spread salt to where there is no salt that salt becomes useful. Am I correct? So, Jesus is looking for people who carries a mindset that anywhere they intermingle with people—whether in their offices, whether in their marketplaces, whether in the taxi, whether in the neighborhood, whether in the lecture theater, whether on the street, whether on the road, anywhere they encounter people—their life is a showcase. Is showcasing something. Is showcasing light. Is showcasing saltiness. Is showcasing direction to God. Is showcasing something that they would say, "Which kind of person is this?" But if our life is just the same thing, we are just lost in the crowd. We are just one among the crowd. Jesus is not looking for a faceless multitude. He's looking for people that can stand and stand for the kingdom. These were the three things we established last week.
And it is from this point that I want to move on today. So, let's go to our text as we try to move on from that point today. I want to believe that we are together now. For brethren who were not here last week, I want to believe we are all together now. So, let's look at something further as we look at that Lord's prayer again. Matthew chapter six. Matthew chapter six. Let's see that scripture. Now, he says, Matthew chapter six, I read—he says from about verse five or thereabouts, or I'm on the Lord's prayer. He says, "After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13).
Now, Jesus was telling them this is the manner you should pray. And I've said last week that Jesus is not saying that every time we are praying, every time you want to pray, "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name"—that's not what Jesus was doing. Jesus was telling them what should be the manner of prayer for people who are kingdom conscious. The manner of prayer for people who are kingdom conscious, people who are of the kingdom. They have a clear understanding that they have a relationship with God as Father. They have that clear understanding. I'm not looking at the Lord's prayer, but I'm just going somewhere that anyone who truly belongs to the kingdom have a clear understanding—not God as God, but God as my Father. A personalization of understanding that my Father, I have my Father. My Father, I have a Father. An understanding of a relationship in which you know that there was a rebirth, you got born again. You have an understanding, a consciousness that you were born and you were born into a kingdom. And then you have an understanding still on that, having a clear thing to know that that thing makes you to worship God—hallowed be thy name. Then you now come to—after that, what is the preoccupation of God? He said, "Thy kingdom come."
Now, if you look at what immediately followed, he says, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth." "Thy kingdom come," comma, "thy will be done on earth." Full stop. Then another item, "Give us this day our daily bread." Do you notice that in your Bible? Do you notice that? Do you notice that thy kingdom come is quickly followed with thy will be done? It is the matter—you see, there is a strong tie. I like where I am going today. There is a strong connection between God's kingdom and God's will.
There is something—and I made the statement last week, I said that's what we are going to build on this week. You see, anywhere the will of God is not done, the kingdom of God is not there. Do I take that again? For our brethren who are just coming in today, because that's what I want to build on today. Anywhere, anywhere the will of God is not done, the kingdom of God is not there. The way to know that the kingdom of God is in a place—how do we know that the kingdom of God is in a place?—is that in that place, what happens? The will of God is done.
Now, look at how the matter tie. Let's look at that familiar scripture in chapter seven of that same Matthew. We just move to chapter seven. We try to quickly move to—let's take our reading from around verse 21. Now, you will notice that the Lord said, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of God." (Matthew 7:21). Are you seeing something? Do you see the matter of the kingdom again? Not everyone who says to me "Lord, Lord" shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father which is in heaven. So, are you seeing a connection? Are you seeing a connection? What is the connection? And what? The kingdom. Do you see that one establishes the other? One establishes the other. The kingdom establishes the will, the will establishes the kingdom.
Now, we have entered into the kingdom from what we shared last week. I hope you still remember? Colossians chapter one. We saw that who has redeemed us and translated us—let's see that, let's look at that together. It's very important we look at these things together. Colossians, Colossians one. Let's look at something in Colossians one. We made reference to that last week. Now, you—we have an understanding that we entered into the kingdom. Look at it from verse 14. From verse 14. Or let me—let us go up a little to around verse 12. Let's take it from around verse 11. 11. It says, "Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [And how did he do that? The next verse] Who hath delivered us [from where?] from the power of darkness, and hath translated us [where?] into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" (Colossians 1:11-14).
So, we have a clear understanding. Did we come into the kingdom when we gave our life to Christ? Did we come into the kingdom? We came into the kingdom. That moment we gave our life to Christ. And that is why that song:
To God be the glory,
great things he has done!
So loved he the world that
he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an
atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that
all may go in.
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through
Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory,
great things he has done!
Now, do you notice that when it goes to stanza two, it said:
The vilest offender
who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus
a pardon receives.
Now, what I'm trying to make you see: We are giving glory to God because actually that time when we believe, that moment—it's not later—what happened to us? We are translated from where? The kingdom of darkness into what? Into the kingdom of his Son. So, we are in the kingdom. And as long as we are in that kingdom, the whole essence is that eventually where will we enter? We will enter into the kingdom of heaven. Is that not? Is that not? There is now a connection. What is the connection? That actually it is not everyone who calls him "Lord, Lord." So, ordinarily once we acknowledge his lordship, where are we to enter? We are to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Because when we acknowledge his lordship, in actual sense we entered into the kingdom of light. Are you following me? First John chapter one says God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
So, we enter into that kingdom of the dear Son, which is the kingdom of light. And of course, that is to bring us into an ultimate thing: what is that? The kingdom of heaven. Now, Jesus now introduce something. He said, "Look, listen. Not everyone who calls me Lord, Lord will enter into this kingdom of heaven." Actually, it means calling him "Lord" is a presupposition that you are to come into that place. Are you getting the point? Are you getting the point? Once you acknowledge his lordship, the supposition for that acknowledgment is that you will be welcomed home. He now said, "Look, actually not everybody who says that. It is not a direct thing like that. It's not that direct the way you are looking at it. There is something, and what is the something? It's about a will. There is a will."
And that will—you know one thing about that will? That will is what makes heaven to remain heaven. Are you understanding me? That will—holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, the eyes of the sinner cannot see your glory. For brethren who don't speak Yoruba, it's saying that the song just simply saying that holy is the Lord and it is impossible for any man who continue in sin to see the glory of God. You see, I'm trying to make you see something very, very crucial. That what makes heaven to be heaven—that makes it a place that the devil and his angel could not occupy—is that only one thing is done willingly, freely, wholly, and totally: the will of God.
That is why let me give you some understanding. Do you notice that Jesus said, "The Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father doing"? Whatever the Father is doing, that is what the Son also do likewise. I don't do anything. Only one thing is what I'm doing, whatever the Father is doing. At another instance, he was speaking—the one I just quoted now is John 5:19—in that same John chapter five, 29-30, he said again, "See, it is as I hear, so I judge. My judgment is not of myself." So, when Jesus want to judge anything, does he just judge? How does he judge? As he hears, so he judges. So, I'm trying to show you something. I'll show you another one. At a point, Jesus gets to a tight, a bus corner. And in that corner, in that bus, it was looking like, "No going forward oh." "No going forward oh." But it is not a matter of what I like. It is not a matter of how I feel. It is not a matter of what I want. And that is why I keep telling people, when you see people whose lives are ruled by what they feel, what they like, and what they want, they are people who don't truly know God. I keep saying this thing.
What is bringing this matter is there is something about heaven—the will of God. That's what we are discussing oh. That's what is generating the matter that we are discussing. I'm trying to make something very, very clear. So that if we cannot even finish it today, we will take it next week. We are not going to rush this matter. I'm trying to link something very well for you. And I want you to—that's why we are checking different aspect of the Bible. We are trying to bring them together. We are trying to understand scriptures. Because you know one thing I've come to discover is that people seems to serve a God they imagine, not the one the Bible reveals. There is a God you imagine, not the one the Bible reveals. The God we are called to serve is the God that the Bible reveals. It's the one revealed in the Bible. And that is why very important for our Christian life. If it is not the one that the Bible revealed, it is not the one that Jesus came to establish his kingdom.
Do you know why? Do you know why I say so? Go and check all the life of Jesus. At any point, he will tell you, "How then would the scriptures be fulfilled? How then would the scriptures be fulfilled? How then would the scriptures be fulfilled?" At a point, Jesus said in John 10:34-36, he says, "Scriptures cannot be broken." Am I correct? To tell you that Jesus' life was molded, shaped, and determined by scriptures. At a point, his disciple said, "Ah, why are you wasting time? Look, they took sword and we are going to fight!" He said, "Look, I can pray my Father. And what will he send me? Legions of angels. But how then will the scriptures be fulfilled?"
How then will the scriptures be fulfilled? So, it's a very strong thing to get this thing. That the God that is not revealed in scripture is not the God that Jesus came to preach. You cannot serve the God you imagine. And if you notice Jesus, look at the temptation. What happened? "Turn this stone to bread." Did he have so many things to say? "It is written. Sorry, I can't live otherwise. Something has been written. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Sorry, I don't have another life. There's only one life to live. And what is that life? The life of 'It is written.'" When he was rebuking his disciples for not believing him, what did he say? "O fools and slow of heart to believe the scriptures." When he was to be glorified, what did he do? Bible say he opened their mind so that they can understand the scriptures.
So, what I'm trying to make you see is that we need to be careful not to serve a God that we imagine. We must serve the God that the scriptures reveal. We must diligently look into scripture and beg God, "Lord, that I may know you, that I may know you." Or else, it may be Bible knowledge and not the knowledge of God. Because there's a difference again between Bible knowledge and the knowledge of God. If the knowledge of God and Bible knowledge, if they are the same thing, then everybody who read CRK and theology is a child of the kingdom. But they are not the same thing. So, I am saying this so that we can get some things clear. That's why we are looking at scriptures. And we are trying to bring some things out very well, very clearly.
Now, I was saying something about do you know that the reason why the gates of hell—you know why they call them the gate of hell? He say, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail." Who is Jesus referring to? Satan, is that not? And his court. Why? Because when you look at Matthew chapter five, when you read from verse 39 downward, you will realize that actually, hell was not prepared for man. Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. Why did the matter of hell became a matter? Was because some people in heaven, some elements in heaven, some creatures in heaven felt the will of God should not be done. And that is why they were thrown into the chain of darkness. That is how we have the kingdom of darkness. And they are waiting for judgment. They have not been judged yet oh. The chain—that's what I tell people, that people enter hell. Your judgment have not start. Judgment is the lake of fire. Hell is just a place where you are waiting to be judged.
I don't know whether you—if you go and read Revelation very well. So there is a gate. The reason why those things were prepared, why there was a reserve—judgment will still take place for them. But they were no more part of the kingdom of light. Why? Because there is a will of God. And that's why you notice Jesus, when he got to that point where it looks, "Can I really go forward?" He said, "Let this cup pass over me." But what follow? "Yet, not my will." I'm trying to make you understand what characterizes the kingdom of light. What make the kingdom of light light is the will of God. Why do we say there is a kingdom of light? Is because there is the will of God. Once the will of God is rebelled against, is neglected, is sidetracked, is demeaning, there is a problem. That is not the kingdom.
That is why you will notice in the scripture—I'm trying to establish matter of "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done"—why the two were tied together. Why it is together is what I'm establishing. I'm trying to make you understand what it means for the kingdom of God to come. It means the will of God is done. That's what it means. Now, you will notice in the book of James that the Bible says, "You believe that there is one God." Is that not? Is that not? What did the Bible says if you believe that there is one God? It says what does that mean? You believe that there is one God, you do well. What does that mean? Can we check different translation? Do you know where that something is? James chapter—let's go there. It's good to look at these matters and tie them together. Let's tie them together. Let's go to the book of James. James chapter two. Let's see the scripture there. Let's see how the Bible tied all together. Verse 19.
[Speaker 2]
"You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!" (James 2:19).
[Speaker 1]
Even the demons believe and tremble. Yes, what translation do you have there?
[Speaker 2]
I've got King James, Message, NLT.
[Speaker 1]
Please, can you read first New King James, then you read the Message, then you read NLT.
[Speaker 2]
Okay, let's have it. James 2:19, NKJV: "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble." Message: "Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God? But then observe you complacently sitting back as if you have done something wonderful. That is just great. Demons do that. But what good does it do them? They are still demons." Are you understanding the matter? Are you getting the matter? Is it very, very clear now? Is it very clear now? Yeah. That thing you say you believe, "Oh, that Jesus Christ is Lord," you do well but demons also do that. Please can we have the last translation?
[Speaker 2]
Amplified: "You believe that God is one; you do well. So do the demons believe, and shudder in terror and horror such as make a man's hair stand on end and contract the surface of his skin."
[Speaker 1]
So, that you believe that there is one Lord—have you done anything different from the devil? Satan believes. That's why people don't understand that Satan too is a believer. People don't understand. Oh, I'm trying to establish God's kingdom for you. What makes his kingdom his kingdom? That's why as an individual you must learn to rise beyond just "I belong to Anglican," "I am Deeper Life," "I am Redeemed," "I am Mountain of Fire," "I am Baptist," "I am this" and like as I said initially there's nothing wrong with it. Is anything wrong with that? No, there's nothing wrong with it. But that is not where we are going. That's not where we are going.
Now, you believe that there is one God. You don't even tremble. Oh, you don't understand that demons tremble? Let me show you some picture that show that demons they tremble. Do you remember the man that was mad? That the demons were begging, "Please allow us to enter into the swine. Please, please, we beg you, don't—" They tremble. Do you remember that when Jesus was to cast out a demon from the person who is deaf and dumb, the demon cried out, "Have you come to torment me before the time? Ah, I go see it oh! It is not yet time oh, unisuuru! Ah, are you coming so quickly?" Jesus said, "Shut up! Shut up your mouth!" It was not yet time for Jesus to preach who he really is, he must die before he's preached in terms of who he really is. But do you see that demons know, demons—they know him oh. They know him, they understand him.
I give you another good example. When the seven sons of Sceva, when they met the man with a demon, and they said, "In the name of Jesus [unfortunately], that Paul preached, get out of him." Please, what was their response? "For Jesus oh, ah, we—no argument, no argument. For Paul, ah, bobo yen, he has japa, he has gone with Jesus. We can't do anything with that young man again. But please come, from where are you people speaking from? On whose authority?" You can't imagine what I'm trying to make you see. They believe. They have a clear understanding of the lordship of Jesus. But the question is what makes them demons? Why are they still demons? Why? Why are they still demons? That is the simple thing that makes them demon. So, a believer who does not do God's will is a satanic believer. That's what you call satanism. That's satanism. What makes him Satan is not because he does not believe.
So, it was that matter—I'm going back to the Matthew where we started from. Are you with me now? We are going back to that Matthew now where we started from. Jesus said not everyone who called me "Lord" shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. Why? Why? Because there are demons calling him "Lord" too. Are you getting it now? Are you getting it now? Is it very, very clear now? Is it very clear now? Yeah. There are demons that they tremble, they shudder for the babake! Patapata, na you, na you, na you! But you know one thing about them? When God says something is wrong, what would they tell people? "As long as it is expression of love, there is no problem." Go and check it from the beginning. What did God say? "Do not eat this thing, the day you eat you will die." What did they say? "Did God say you will die? Mm, that's where you should stay. You will become like God! You will know good from evil. You cannot die."
Are you seeing what makes them Satan? Are you understanding it? That's what makes them Satan. And for you to know that it is a matter, a serious matter, the point I am drawing us to and that I'm calling us to this evening is that you notice that when the sons of God came to God, the devil also came among them. I don't want to go into the theology of that, that is not for today. But some people don't understand that the way you think about Satan—you need to go and look at the Bible about what the Bible calls Satan, who the Bible calls Satan. You need to know him very well. Because you say, "He's a foolish man, he's a stupid man." I just laugh. Satan is not stupid oh. Satan is not foolish. Satan is smart. Satan is intelligent. It takes an intelligent demon to make you go naked and call it fashion. They are not—look, they are, they are intelligent.
So, don't be thinking of something. You remember what Jesus said? He said be wise as serpent, only that be harmless as dove. For you to know the level of tricks, the level of manipulative wisdom that he can display. I'm talking about—you see many times we just do things from what we imagine. "Esu ti o gbon, esu ti o rirun." Esu ti o gbon, o ti gbon. You need the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God to be able to handle—look, without the wisdom of God, you cannot handle Satan. That's the reality. You cannot handle Satan without the wisdom of God. Now, so the point I am drawing us to and that I'm calling us to this evening is that you notice that when they came into God's presence, what was the discussion between Satan and God? What was the discussion? "Have you seen my servant Job? A man who fear God and does what? He eschews evil." That is, "A man who does [what?] the will of God." Is that not all that God is saying? Is there anything that God is saying further than that? "There is a man that there is none like him." And please, what was the response of Satan? What was the response? He said, "Do you think Job is doing your will for nothing? Do you think he's just fearing you for nothing? Is it not because you gave him so many things? Take them now and you will see if he will not curse you to your face."
And do you notice something that Satan was asked, "Where are you coming from?" What did he say? "From going to and fro the earth." That's number one. What the second one? "And from walking up and down in it." Is that different from what Peter said when he said, "Be vigilant, be sober, your adversary the devil like a roaring lion [does what?] to and fro the earth and from walking up and down in it." And all that God want to ask him from all those walkabout is, "Have you seen my servant Job? That despite everything you are doing, despite all your manipulation with your intelligence to make people not to do my will, do you find there is a man doing my will?"
So, I'm trying to make you see that the matter that makes God's kingdom God's kingdom is God's will. So you notice Jesus said something. He said, "Thy kingdom come. Your will be done. Where? How? How?" Please look at that Matthew. How? "As it is where?" So, what is that telling me about God's will and heaven? What's it telling you about God's will and heaven? It's telling you that what makes heaven heaven is that it is the will of God that is done there. So, the prayer is that your will, the way they are doing it there, we want it to be done where? To be done on earth. I want you to get it. It is to be done as it is done in heaven. How is it done in heaven? Totally. Freely. Perfectly.
It is done totally. It is done freely. You know what Jesus said? He said, "Nobody take my life from me. I lay it down by myself." You see that? It is done freely. And that is why you notice, he said God loves a cheerful giver. If anybody manipulate you to give something to God and you give it out of compulsion, sorry. It's not the kingdom type. "Bring out your money now!" and you brought out twenty naira. And the person knowing that he doesn't want you to bring twenty naira, quickly said, "Yes, I want you everyone to hold that money and wave it to God! So that you don't give twenty naira. Everybody is twenty naira." You quickly change it. You quickly change twenty naira and make it a hundred naira. You make it a hundred naira—"Ah, how would they see me to be waving twenty naira? Ah, this man want to disgrace me. You will not disgrace me, olosi." You quickly change it. Two hundred naira. Then you now wave two hundred naira. The person know what he wants to do, psychological way of make people increase what they want to give. Are you getting the point I'm making? That may not be the purpose of saying wave it, but if the purpose is to manipulate people to do it and they were compelled to do it. Whatever you are compelled to do, that you give and you are grumbling. Sorry, you only gave to men oh, you didn't give to God.
It is done freely. It is done freely. Freely. It's very, very important to note that. It is done totally. It is done perfectly. The reason why it is free, you will notice something. You know what the Bible says? The Bible says, "In your presence, in your presence, there is joy." Am I correct? Do you notice that if you are doing something for somebody and it is not free, you are never happy? If you are doing something for somebody and it is not something you are doing freely, and as you are doing it you are looking at him, "Olosi, stupid man." But because you are afraid. There is no joy in that place. Heaven is a place of joy, are you aware? Are you aware? Do you know that God was telling the Israelite, "Because you did not serve me joyfully, I will give you to master that you will serve." Do you now know what is the difference between serving God joyfully and serving masters? God is not a taskmaster.
Look at for example at righteousness. He gave us his power and he asks us to be holy. The point I'm trying to make you see is that there is something about God's kingdom and God's will. There is something about God's kingdom and God's will. Anywhere the will of God is not done, the kingdom of God is not there. That is why he said, "Not everyone who called me Lord, Lord will enter my kingdom." Because the supposition is that anybody who calls him Lord, if that Lord is not satanic Lord. Because there's a satanic Lord. The satanic Lord trembles! They can do acrobatic in praise worship. It may not be wrong to do acrobatic if you do it. Don't get me wrong. They can show all kinds of fervency. It is not wrong to be fervent in serving God, Bible says not slothful in business, fervent in spirit. But there's a kind of fervency, there's a kind of trembling that is satanic. There's a kind of running around for God that is satanic. What makes it satanic is that what is actually being promoted by that running around is not the will of God. It's not God's will.
So, Jesus said, "Not everyone that calls me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom. Why? Because there are demons calling him Lord too." Are you getting it now?
And for you to know that it is a matter, a serious matter, the point I am drawing us to and that I'm calling us to this evening is that you notice that when Jesus said "Thy kingdom come," Lord, your will be done. The will of God, the will of God is the hallmark, is the hallmark that the kingdom of God exists in a place. The hallmark is the will of God. This is where we close the meeting for today. And I want you to pray. I want you to talk to God. Which kind of believer are you? Which kind of believer? You might be an Anglican, you might be a Four Square person, you might be Deeper Life, you might be Redeemed, you might be Mountain of Fire, you might be Baptist—whichever denomination we may all belong to. Whichever one we may all belong to. What I am saying is which kind of believer inside the church that you are, are you? Which kind of believer? Jesus said, "Thy kingdom come. Lord, your will be done." The will of God. The will of God is the hallmark. Is the hallmark that the kingdom of God exists in a place.
The hallmark is the will of God. Can you talk to the Lord? How much are you a follower after God's will? How much do you take time? The Bible says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you are to meditate on it day and night, so that you can observe to do according to all that is written there." So that you can observe to do—it is not serving a God that you imagine. No, it is serving a God that the scriptures reveal. There is a God that the scripture reveals. It is that God. See this book of the law, study it day and night so that you can observe to do it.
There is something that is there. There is something you must know there by revelation. There is something you must know there. You must beg God, "Open my eyes, fill me with the knowledge of your will. Cause me to know you. Open my eyes, open my mind that I may understand your word." Because if you don't serve the God the Bible reveal, if you are serving a God that you imagine, sorry. The God that Jesus came to preach, the God that Jesus brought to us is the God that the Bible reveals. Is the one revealed in the Bible. Jesus said just as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days, so will the Son of Man be in the belly of the earth for three days. While some people are still beginning to say that can the story of Jonah be true, can it be true, can it be true, Jesus quoted that story, trying to make you see that everything you see is a fulfillment, is something he came to fulfill. Is something—there is a connection. I don't just live my life. God has a mindset and I've come to fulfill that mindset. There is a mind of God. I came to do the mind of God. Anything outside the mind of God, I do nothing outside the mind of God. That is the mind of people who are saying, "Lord, thy kingdom come, your will be done." You see this my job? It's about the mind of God. You see this my career? It's about the mind of God. You see this my location? It's about the mind of God. You see this my business? It's about the mind of God. You see this my marriage? It's about the mind of God. You see this my finance? It's about the mind of God. You see this, this my relationship? It's about the mind of God. You see this, this thing that you see me doing? It's about the mind of God. I am not trying to do anything of myself. What I want to do is the mind of God. I have taken time to know his mind because I know that before, before, before I was born, he knew me. Before I was conceived in my mother's womb, he has ordained me to be something. And I'm—all I want to do with my life is to know his purpose, is to know his mind, is to run on that mind, is to do that will. I have not come to do my will.
Because the scripture says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, honor, and power. For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created." (Revelation 4:11). I am created for the pleasure of God. I'm not created for my own pleasure. I'm not created for myself. I am created as a means to God's end. I am not created for my own purpose. I'm not created to pursue my own thing. Somebody has interest in me, somebody has something in mind. I am created for his pleasure. My life is to pursue that pleasure. Anything not helping me to pursue it, can you get it out of my way? Can you remove that thing from my path? All I want to do with my life is his pleasure. All I want to get into with my life is his pleasure. All I want to be involved in is his pleasure. That is the mind of the kingdom people. Are you a satanic Christian? Are you a satanic believer? Or you are a kingdom person? Are you a kingdom person? Are you a kingdom person? Are you busy establishing and pushing the frontiers of the kingdom? Are you a kingdom person? Are you a kingdom brother? Are you a kingdom sister? Are you a kingdom husband? Are you a kingdom wife? Are you a kingdom Christian? Are you a kingdom Nigerian? Or you are just the ordinary Nigerian? Everything goes, and in the end we're in Nigeria, God understand. Are you a kingdom Nigerian? Are you a kingdom student? Are you a kingdom student? Which type are you? Which type of person are you?
We are talking about "Thy kingdom come." Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. Father Lord, we thank you for this evening. Father Lord, we just commit ourselves into your hands. Oh precious Father, holy Father, holy Father. Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord. Your desire is that thy kingdom come and that your will be done on earth. Not anyhow, but as it is done in heaven. It is the way it is done in heaven that is the burden of the Lord. Oh Lord our God, may our life touch on your burden in the name of Jesus. May our life carries your burden in the name of Jesus. No, may we not be vain believers. May we not be empty and shallow. May we be carriers of the Lord's burden. Thy kingdom come, oh Lord. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Eternal Father. Blessed be your name, our God. In Jesus' name we pray.
Can we share the grace together? The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Amen.
