Church is a fellowship that moves us spiritually and individually, as a family and as a community. God will evolve a godly move. These are words of instruction in righteousness and humility in our heart. May you be blessed as you listen.
[Speaker 1]
Praise the Lord. Let's take this song together as we come together again this evening.
We are grateful Oh Lord.
We are grateful Oh Lord.
We are grateful Oh Lord.
For all You have done for us.
Hallelujah, we are grateful Oh Lord.
Our father indeed we are really really grateful. We are very thankful again today for bringing us together into your presence. Thank you for diverse journey mercies. Thank you Oh Lord our God. We are really grateful. Thank you as we all connect together again today. Our brethren who are joining us on Telegram, our brethren who are joining us on Mixlr, we who are here physically, Lord, we commit ourselves into your hand. The Bible says it is unto you shall the gathering of the people be. Lord, we pray this evening that our gathering will not be unto ourselves. Our gathering will indeed be unto you in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord our God, cause us to experience you again in a way that will leave indelible marks upon our hearts, upon our spirit, upon our soul in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we pray that as we fellowship together again this evening, you will incline our hearts to your fear. You will direct our hearts into your love in the name of Jesus. Thank you, everlasting father. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
So, we would be taking the matter from where we left it last week. We have been on this series for a while now. "Thy Kingdom Come," "Thy Kingdom Come." And last week we were looking at the matter of thy will be done, particularly because we started "thy will be done" two weeks ago. But particularly last week we were to consider two scriptures. These two scriptures, they were to make us see the matter of how the Lord, the Lord's perspective to the matter of the will of the father. And one thing that stood out for us last week, in fact, I must also say that for me, even though I was the one bringing the word and we were sharing together, but honestly, what really stood out for us and for me in particular is the reality of understanding God's lineage by the will of God. To know those who are the descendant is not by any biological thing. No. It is by the will of God. To know those who are the children, who are the sisters, who are the mothers, those who are actually related to Jesus, those who are related, who are his lineage, who belongs to his line. That was something that stood out for me so much. I don't know what for those of us who are here, I don't know what stood out for you if anybody has anything to say before we move on today to look at the second scripture about this matter of Jesus's attitude. I don't know does anybody have something to say here?
[Speaker 2]
All right, Breykan are hearing you. One thing that stood out is similar to what you said. When you mentioned that the lineage of God, that people that forms the lineage of God are actually the ones that do his will. So if I'm to be identified as a member of his lineage, it means that I'm actually bringing down his kingdom and I'm doing his will.
[Speaker 1]
Okay. That's okay. So it was something similar. Okay. We have another contributor.
[Speaker 3]
Yes sir. What I gained last week was I gained an understanding about this issue. Where you said that if there was a surrogacy, like people normally say that Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ and you now said that if two people, if they join the egg and the sperm together and they now put inside another person's womb. Does that make the person that they put the person's womb, does it make the person the mother? You now said that okay, that is not correct. It does not. The person is just carrying the baby, does not make the person the mother. And that was one of the understanding that I gained last week.
[Speaker 1]
Yeah. Thank you very much. That's another thing that really stood out again last week that we should we need to have from what nature teaches. It is clear. You know, several times we see by the spirit of God, Apostle Paul will say does not nature makes you to know that, as I was listening to a video, I don't know how much it is true about King Sunny Ade. I don't know whether that something is true, I don't know if people have seen the video where it was showing King Sunny Ade having regret that the children that he was made to train all the while, they were not his children. That they actually belongs to another individual. The wife brought pregnancy into. I don't know, I was seeing something like that. So I've not been able to fully listen to that video, but it was portraying. But the one I can remember very well was the one that happened in Akure where this very wealthy individual that killed himself and killed his wife. And the episode that led to that was that he got to know that the three children which was supposed to be his children that he has lived with his wife all the while, they were not he is not the biological father. Somebody else impregnated the wife, but the wife brought those children as if he was the one involved. So by the time they did everything, it became clear that he was not the father. And so it pained him so much that wow, so actually I'm fatherless. That was and that became so painful, so hurtful that he found himself killing himself and killing the wife. So that tells you that that you carry something, you don't carry something does not prove anything, does not prove anything. The unfaithfulness in the society is really really serious. That's great wickedness when people do such to their spouses. But whichever way, we saw the one thing that came out very clear for us last week was that nature teaches what motherhood, how motherhood and fatherhood is defined. It's defined by he who carries the DNA, the spermatozoa or the egg involved determines it. And when we don't have that, we can't be talking of that maternal or paternal father or mother. Just as we know that Joseph is not the father of Jesus, in the same way we should understand that Mary is not the mother of Jesus. If Mary will now become a mother or a brother or a sister, it will be along the lineage of those who do his will. Just as we too, we are brothers, we are mothers, we are sisters of Jesus Christ. That's what he said. And the point is the lineage is by doing the will. So anybody who does the will of God, will remain in the will of God. As far as Jesus is concerned, he is in his lineage. And that is how we define the lineage. And we saw that in comparison to what John said, that he that is born of God cannot continue to sin. Thank you so much.
And we want to look at the second scripture today. And they are both similar. They are similar and looking at that today, I believe we'll be able to draw the two things together and then come to where we might if possibly be concluding today hopefully. That's my thinking. Let's look at the book of Luke. Luke 11. Luke 11, that should be verse 27. That's where Jesus made the statement particularly. Luke 11:27 and 28. Let's look at it.
While he was speaking all this, the person speaking was the Lord Jesus. You will see that in the earlier verses before that place. Jesus was talking about a demon, the return of unclean spirit. He was speaking when the Pharisees were accusing Jesus that he's using Beelzebub, the prince of demon to cast out demons. And Jesus was giving response to that matter that look, a kingdom cannot be divided against itself. If darkness cannot cast out darkness. So there's no way I can be using demons to cast out demons. In the actual sense, no demon is cast out. That's what it will be. He said however, if he by the spirit of God cast out demon, then the kingdom of God is come against them. And then he noted in the verse 24 that when a demon is cast out of an individual, he goes and then he comes, he find a place clean. That was just Jesus was discussing when in the verse 27 somebody said. We want to look at what it really means to be blessed. We have looked at the lineage of Jesus. Now we are trying to look at what Jesus described as true blessedness. We're looking at Jesus's perspective to the matter of the will of God. That's what we are talking about. Because we are saying that the kingdom of God is not in a place where the will of God is not done. And we saw that Jesus came to establish a kingdom. And if he came to establish a kingdom, then the hallmark of that kingdom is that the will of God is done just as it is in heaven. When that begins to happen in any life, what has come? The kingdom of God has come. If that happens in any marriage, what has come? The kingdom of God has come. If it happens in any family, what has come? The kingdom of God has come. So to know that the kingdom of God actually exist in a place is that the will of God is done. And it is in that that brought us to be seeing the matter of Jesus's attitude to the issue of doing God's will. And today, we're looking at another direct statement of Jesus. It was also a response. You know, the what we looked at last week was a response to somebody who said your mother, your brothers, and your sisters, they are looking for you. And Jesus needed to correct that. He needed to give the the direct and the correct answer to that. Today, we're looking at another direct response of Jesus.
While he was saying all this, a woman shouted from the crowd, "God bless the one who gave birth to you and nursed you as a child." Uh? If you check that in the in the KJV version, it says, "And it came to pass as he spake these things, a woman of the company lifted up her voice and said unto him, 'Blessed is the womb that bare thee and the paps which thou hast sucked.'" We are looking at the matter. When you look at that in other translation, it says, "And it came to pass that when he said these things, a woman among the people said in a loud voice, 'Happy is the body which gave birth to you and the breast from which you took milk.'" That was what somebody said again because the person was looking at wow, these words are gracious. These words are gracious. And he made that pronouncement. But again, Jesus responded to that. And he responded to that, he said, "But he said, 'Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it.'" Are you seeing something again in this place? Rather, you are saying the person who is blessed is the person who gave birth. You are saying the person who is blessed is the person who gave birth to me and the breast that I sucked as a child. But that is not how to know who is blessed. If you want to know who is blessed, that is not the way to look at it.
You see, what I'm trying to make you see over and over again is something about the nature of human beings before I now zero in to where I'm going. Are you aware historically, I don't know whether any of you have read that history. You know when Jesus died on the cross, what happened to the veil that covered the holiest of all? The Bible says it tore into two. And the Bible says that was signifying that what? The way to the holiest of all is now open so we can all now come boldly. You don't need any intermediary again, before everyone must go through the lineage of Aaron before. So it is only they that can enter that place and mediate for you. But now, there's a change order. That's why I tell people, if your prayer life is not deep and intimate, you are living below your capacity as a Christian. That is the truth. You don't understand the capacity you have. So signifying that look, everybody can now come into that holiest of all. You can all come into that place now. But do you know what happened? Do you know what happened when that thing tore into two? History hold it that history told us that the people, they went to sew that thing again. And they still continued with Aaron's family entering the holiest of all. Mind you, God have abandoned that place. But they were still doing it. Why? The religious nature of man.
I tell you another one. You know in the wilderness, Jesus said, "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up." Are you aware of that? So you are aware that in the wilderness Moses actually lifted up a serpent. Do you know what happened? That bronze serpent became what Israel began to worship. They were worshipping that serpent as worshipping God. Why? Because when they looked at it at a point, they lived. So they have assumed that there is something about the serpent, whereas there is nothing about the serpent. What made that serpent to have something was that God said. It was Hezekiah, you know King Hezekiah, who came and broke that thing into pieces. That's what history told us.
What am I trying to make you see? Human beings has this religious nature. Once something, that is why we also deify Shango, Ogun, Moremi. Because these people played a they were these were heroes and heroines who played some significant role at a point and before you know, they have become object of worship. Shango was just was an individual who had great magical power, who could call down fire from heaven and can bring out fire from his mouth. So at the point of his death, he has become somebody to worship. The point I'm trying to make is this. Jesus was speaking. And as he was speaking, when people saw the works that he was doing, when they saw the glory that was radiating from him, when they saw the mighty works that were by his hand, what did they say? There must be something about the vessel that gave birth to you. Are you seeing man again? Are you seeing man? Something about man wanting to always look away from God to the things that God is using.
I remember many many years back, I think I was I was an undergraduate University of Benin, I mean for my first degree then. And the Lord was speaking to me and he said, "Son, be very very careful. People may come around you and be singing your praise based on what I'll be doing through you." Lord was saying that when I was an undergraduate. He said, "But be careful of the praises of men. Don't ever forget this truth. Let it ever be before you. There is no cutlass that is self-made. Somebody made the cutlass. Number two, there is no cutlass that sharp itself. And there is no cutlass that can by itself be cutting grass." Do you get do you get those three things? Number one, he says you are the workmanship of God created in Christ Jesus so I made the cutlass. Number two, I sharpen the cutlass. Number three, I'm the one who raises the cutlass to cut. So when somebody raises a cutlass to cut and the cutlass is just cutting cutting cutting, do you begin to say "Ode o, ode o, cutlass yi ma to de"? Is it the cutlass you will sing for? No. If you begin to sing for the cutlass, are you normal? You are not normal. So many things we do sometimes, the person who is hearing that thing should be careful not to take God's glory. There's something that does not mean we don't honor men. No. But you know that God said "My glory I will share with no man." That was why Herod died instantly. "Hey, the voice of a God" and he was gone and worms ate him.
So it's a very very important for us to note certain things. What I want to make you see in this place again is that Jesus was speaking. And as he was speaking, the words were so glorious. The grace radiating from him was something that is worth nothing. And quickly, where did the heart of men run to? Where did it run to? Ah! Ah! Ah! That woman that gave birth to you is a blessed woman. That pap that you sucked, that breast that you from where you took milk, ah! must be blessed. But Jesus said sorry. Sorry. If if that woman only do that and does not keep my words, she is not blessed. Do you get the point? Do you get the point? He said rather blessed are those who hear the word of God. And what? Please look at that scripture. Luke 11:28. He says rather, but he said "Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God and do what? And keep it." They hear the word of God and they keep it. Those are the people that are blessed.
Now we want to tie everything together. We want to tie everything together. We are seeing something. Look at this matter with where we started four weeks ago with "thy kingdom come." Matthew 7. Please note here that Jesus said again that rather blessed is he who hear the word of God and do it. Let's go back to that Matthew where we started. That Matthew where we started the matter. Matthew chapter seven. Where the matter started from, Matthew 7. Are you there? Now let's look at it again. Matthew 7. Jesus was speaking. He said "Not everyone," this was where we started from four weeks ago, "Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven." Please be noticing something Oh, I'm tying something together Oh. Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name have done many wonderful works?" Then I will profess unto them, "I never knew you, depart from me ye that work iniquity." Now having said that, please look at what followed in 24. Please mark the first word in your translation in verse 24. What's the first word? "Anyone who listen to my teaching and follow it is wise." Are you noticing something? It just said not everyone who call me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom, but the person who does the will of the father. Isn't it? And then he now said many will say to me on that day "We did this and that in your name" but I will tell them depart from me you are workers of iniquity. He now said "therefore." Therefore. Anyone who hear these sayings of mine and what? And do it.
So are you seeing that when Jesus was saying that rather blessed is he who hear the word of God and do it, what is he talking about again? The will of God. Because actually the word of God is what? Is the will of God. That's how you look at that having said those who do my will, he now said therefore, "whoever hear these sayings of mine and do them, I will liken him unto a wise man who build upon a rock." So you notice therefore that when you are talking about the will of God, we are talking about the sayings of Jesus, we are talking about the word of God. So Jesus was trying to clarify something. That it doesn't matter what God could be using you for. Do you get it? It doesn't matter what it seems like God is using you for. What matters most is whether you are doing what God says. Do you get the do you get what he was trying to say? Are you getting it?
Look at these people in this place. They said "we cast out demons" in whose name? In your name. We prophesied in whose name? In your name. We cast out devils, we did wonderful works, in whose name? In your name. He said "but I'm going to tell them that even though you cast out demons in my name, even though you claim to have done wonderful things, works in my name, even though you claim to have prophesied in my name, let me tell you one thing that is very very important. You are a worker of iniquity if you are not doing what I say." In other words, look at something please listen. He said "I will tell them I don't know you, workers of iniquity." So a worker of iniquity is not somebody who is not gifted. Are you getting it? We are looking at the words of Jesus. A worker of iniquity is not somebody who God did not use. Mary was used as a vessel to bring forth God in the flesh. But blessedness is is not in being used. Where is blessedness? Where is blessedness? It's doing his will.
So if you want to know how blessed you are, don't begin to look at the blessings of God in your life. Don't begin to count how many cars you have. Don't begin to count, ah, I have the gift of prophecy. I have the gift of evangelical. In fact, I'm a God great Bible interpreter. If there is something about me, anywhere I enter like this, once I say "Let there be light," demons will find their way. Once those things are going on like this, ah, you need to know, that is not how to count how blessed you are. As far as Jesus is concerned, there is rather a better way to count how blessed people are. The way to count how blessed you are, it's a very very crucial thing. Because if you want to say you are blessed, what do you begin to look around for? No, you begin to look for things. Am I correct? Am I making sense to us? Am I very correct? You say, "Ah, that bro, ah, he blessed Oh. He finished at the age of 17. He was already a professor by 21. In fact, he has traveled round the whole continent of the world. He has visited all the countries in the world before he was 25. He bought his first car at the age of 18. Wow!" Say wow! "Hey hey hey hey! This is real blessing!" Jesus said no that's not how to count it. Or you want to take it the other way round. Ah you see that bro, hm, he raised 15 dead people. And he did it at once, gwa! All of them came alive. Hm, not only that Oh, do you know that he just said "Ephphatha!" 15 barren women, they gave birth the following month. Hey, come and see power! That looks like somebody who is blessed, isn't it? Isn't it? Jesus is trying to make us understand how to relate blessedness. It's not as if it's not a good thing to display the power of God. Is it a bad thing? No, please don't get me wrong. It's not a bad thing if materially God decides to allow you some things according to his purpose. No, there's nothing wrong about that. But it is important to understand Jesus's perspective. That's what we are talking about. Do you know why? Because he is the Lord of the kingdom that we want to enter.
The reason why I'm saying these thing is that something shocked me when the disciples returned back from their mission and they were rejoicing. Jesus's answer to them shocked me. Look at it in Luke chapter 10. Luke chapter 10. We are just trying to bring all of these things together so that we can be properly instructed as Christians. Luke chapter 10. Let's see Luke chapter 10. Let's see when they came back from their mission field and let us first see how they were sent so you can you can appreciate it. Jesus sent out 72. Luke chapter 10 from verse one. After these things, the Lord appointed other 70 also. The Lord appointed other 70 also and sent them two and two, two by two before the face, before his face into every city and place whither himself would come. I'm reading the KJV Bible. Therefore said he unto them "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of harvest that he would send forth laborers into his field." Now he now said "Go your way. Behold I am sending you out as lamb into the midst of wolves. Carry no money bag. No knapsack, no sandal, and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say peace be to this house. And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you and remain in the same house eating and drinking whatever they provide for the laborer deserves his wage. Do not go from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you." Look at the their commissioning again. Verse nine. My translation says heal the sick in it and say to them, "The kingdom of God is near to you." Is that what your translation also read? Is that what you are reading your own translation too? Now verse 10. But whatever but whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go to its street and say "Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this that the kingdom of God has come near. I tell you it will be more tolerable on the day on that day for Sodom than for that town." Then Jesus spoke about some unrepentant cities from 12 to 16. When he got to 17, look at what happened. Please look at something. 17 through to 22. The 72 that were sent out to heal the sick, huh, with such power, returned with joy saying, "Lord, even what? Even the demons are subject to us in your name." Are you see the kind of authority that they were given? The authority to say "You get out!" and immediately the demon fall and the person is out of whatever demonic operation. Is the person not looking blessed? The person not looking blessed? He's looking blessed. And honestly the person is blessed. But we are talking of Jesus's perspective to real blessing, to true blessing. That is, the way to prioritize things, how to set things in their correct priority. Because if you don't prioritize, set things in correct priority, eh, you will be majoring in minor and minoring in major. And when you major a minor and minor a major, ah! Woe to you. It's like somebody who did everything to pass physics, chemistry, biology, but decided that mathematics and English is not important because he's going for medicine. So by the time he gets to footagate, A1 physics, A1 chemistry, A1 biology, A1 geography, A1 agric science, A1 like that. English F9, maths F9, they'll say oh come on come on come on you are the one we are looking for. You are the one we are looking for. Will they say that person is blessed with that result? No! They'll say sorry. Sorry. It would have been better if you have B B B B B B including maths and English. That's what I'm saying. If you have converted all those A A A A A A and just to have B B B B B in maths, B in English, B in chemistry, B in physics, B in biology, if you have done it that way, how blessed you would have been. That's what Jesus is saying. But it doesn't mean that he does not also need chemistry and physics. Are you getting the point I'm trying to bring out? That's it. Because often when people are speaking, it looks as if you are deemphasizing one thing for your. No, that's not what we are doing. Power is important. We need power to cast out demonic spirit. We need power to deliver people. Material riches, there's nothing wrong with it. There are several widows, orphans, needy, even the work of mission, we will need money for these things. Am I correct? Am I making sense to you? And so we are not saying that having such doesn't mean that it is not a blessing at all. No, that's not what we are saying. No, that's not what we are saying. So don't get me wrong. But we are looking at Jesus's perspective to the matter of God's will. That is, what comes first. Don't forget where we started from. Seek ye first. There is a first, then there is a second. There is a third, there is a fourth. It's about priority. Like I was discussing with some I was discussing with somebody one day. And he said, "Ah!" he said, "See daddy, daddy, ah! Ah!" he said "do you know that I've not been doing my quiet time now?" I said "ah," I said "what happened?" "You see, ah, I'm having so much time with my job." I said "so the job is more important than God." He said "no!" he said "no!" I said "but that's what your life is spelling out. That's what you are saying by your lifestyle." I said "I don't mean your job is a bad job. But if you are saying that ah, there is no way I want to do it, this job will not allow me be with God, then go and resign." I said "but it may be that you are not applying wisdom because you don't have priority. You have not prioritized, you have not set things in order." I say I don't mean your job is a bad job. But if you don't know what comes first before the other one, eh, you may not know how exactly how to arrange your life. You will not know what should form the core of your joy.
I'm happy if somebody gives me something to say, "Ah! Oh! Please, we want to promote you today. You will be moving to another level and you'll be collecting 30 million as against 20 million. Or you'll be living in a better apartment. Or" of course, it's something to rejoice about. But the joy in that, eh, will be useless, eh, if you told a lie to get that promotion. Then you don't know what to rejoice in. You are rejoicing in death. You are dying and you are rejoicing. That's what you are trying to say. Are you getting the point now? Are you getting the point? That is what Jesus is explaining. That is what I want us to understand this perspective so that we can be correct kingdom people. You see, they returned with joy. Eh, let's look at it. He said, the 72 returned with joy saying, "Lord, even what? Even the demons are subject to us in your name." Of course, who gave them power in his name? Was it not Jesus? So if Jesus is telling us does not give us power, are we not finished? We are finished! So he must give us power. Or else, those things that we are going to face, they will finish us. So he must give us power! So they return with joy, "Master! Ho! Hallelujah! You can see the way I'm jumping, the way I'm dancing, oh hallelujah, you go there, 'Get out!' and he ran away, say hey hey Master wow hey wow!" And Jesus said, ah, sorry. You are missing something fundamental. That is not in the mission work, that's not the core thing. That's not the core thing. Let's look on. He said, and he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Even me, the oga patapata, I saw him do what? Fall from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to do what? To tread on serpent. And what? Scorpion. And what? And over all the powers of the enemy. Emi lo fun yin lagbara yen, yes. It is something that you need for mission. Eh? And nothing shall hurt you. Wow, that is something great! Is that not something great? Nevertheless, verse 20. Do not rejoice in this." Ah! Are you seeing the position of Jesus Christ again? That is not what to rejoice over! Ah! Ibe yen ko layo gan gan wa. Bambari ayo yin ko yen. That is not your olori ayo. That is not the core of your joy. It is joy. Just imagine families head by devils, families head by demons, youth head by demons, and we go there and we say "you demon, get out of this boy!" and the boy become delivered. Marriages get delivered, families get delivered, that's something there will be joy everywhere. O ti se o, baba ti se o. Yes. But Jesus is not saying it is a bad thing that we rejoice in such because it's a goodness of God to be giving power to tread over these our captors. Not a goodness of God? But!
There is something higher than that. Something is higher, something is more, something is more pressing with heaven. He said, "Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this that the spirits are subject to you. Do not rejoice in that the spirit are subject to you. But rejoice that your names are written in heaven." So do you know what that means? What does that mean? What does that mean? Go back to where we are coming from. "Not all who call me Lord, Lord shall shall enter the kingdom, but those who do the will of my father. Therefore, he who hear my words and do it, I will liken him to a wise man who builds his house on the rock." Isn't it? The rain came, the wind beat, everything came, the house did not fall. But person who hear and does not do it is a foolish man. He too is building, but he's building on sand. Eh, he said when all those things will come, what will happen? The house will fall and great will be the loss. He's talking about when the kingdoms will come that eventually they will have regret, eventually, you know what he's trying to say? He's trying to say that if you operate in my power, if you operate in my material blessing, if you operate in all those things, but you don't operate in my will, you are not blessed.
That's the point he's making. To be really blessed, eh, you operate in all of that, eh, not leaving out this important one. That is what Jesus, when Jesus speaking with the Pharisees, eh, he said "you have left the weightier matters of the law." He said "why clean the outside of the cup and you leave the inside dirty?" Please, if you want to drink water, do you put the water outside or the inside? But however, if the outside is dirty, is it good to be using the cup also? Do you get the point? So he said "this you ought to have done and what? Not left the others too undone." So I don't begin to say, "Eh! Me Oh, as long as I obey God, I don't need God's power. It's not important Oh. As long as I obey God, I don't need to be evangelical." Some people will be prophesying Jesus's name, they are not even going. "Me, I don't even need the gift of prophecy. All I just need is to be" that is not what we are talking about.
And that is not that's not what we are saying in any way. What we are saying is understanding that, eh, if every other thing happens in a place and obeying God, obeying his counsel, his instructions, we throw it away. It just like, you know, God have blessed you with so much material thing. And because of that, when the Bible says, "warn those who are rich, not to become high minded, nor to trust in such uncertainty as riches, but rather in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy." If God decide to give you so much wealth today, it's a good thing. But if the wealth make you to become high minded, you are not blessed. Are you getting the point now? Are you getting the point? That is what Jesus is saying. That there is a way to know whether you are really blessed. It is not in only being used by God or obtaining things from God. It is in how much your life is in align with God's counsel, with God's instructions.
I was speaking with a brother who was having issues with his wife and so was not greeting the wife. I said, "Bro, it was God who gave you a wife to enjoy." I said, "But there is a problem. In keeping malice with your wife is a sign that your marriage is not a blessing to you. Because it is more important to God that you don't keep malice, eh, than to have a wife." Are you seeing are you getting it now? That's what we are saying. You must know how to put things in their correct order. What God really came to do, eh, is not just to bless his people. No. God want to make them powerful, bless them, but the real matter is that all of those things should be in the atmosphere where his will is done. That is when it is as in heaven. The power of God is there. The blessings of God is there. Everything about God is in eternity. Eh, but what makes it where God dwell is that the will of God is done. That's why it is heaven. That's what makes it to be heaven. That's why he said, "thy will be done on earth." How? So we don't have heaven where we don't have God's will. So anything which is not adding heaven on earth, eh, what is it coming to do with heaven above? What is it coming to do? Because the real reason why we brought the kingdom to the earth is that what? Thy kingdom come here. So that what? Your will can be done also where? On earth. That's why we brought the kingdom. Now the kingdom have come to display its blessing, it has displayed its power, but the will of God is not done. So why did we bring the kingdom? What is the purpose of that kingdom? That is what we are talking about. But the kingdom of God cannot be in a place and the power of God would not be there. The kingdom cannot be in a place, eh, and the blessings of God will not be there. But we must understand, eh, the priority of God is on his will.
That is what we are saying. So our prayer, our concern as believers should be "God, thy kingdom come, what? Thy will be done." Let's close the meeting for today. We have been able to round up this teaching today and I'm so happy that we were able to round it up. Able to round it up. So I want us to walk in this mentality as believers. Please don't go out here to say that the power of God is not important. The blessings of God, no, they are all good. They are all good. But understand the mind of God. God want to give his people his power, God want to give his people his blessing, God want it to be to be enjoyed. But the sustainability of God's power and blessing is in his will. The sustainability, please note that. The sustainability of God's power and God's blessing is in his will. Talk to the Lord today. Lord, Lord, the sustainability of your blessings in my life is my obedience. The sustainability of your goodness, of your power. What you really desire to see first and foremost in me is obedience to your counsel. It's obedience to your will. It's obedience to your word. Oh God Almighty, I present myself to you. I present myself to you. Fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Lord, fill me. You will find that that prayer in Colossians chapter one, from verse nine through to around verse 12, around verse 11, you'll be finding that this prayer there. It's an apostolic prayer. It's a very very crucial prayer. Lord, Lord, fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Cause me to walk worthy of you in every way pleasing. Ah, Baba, in every way, in every way, in every way, in my, Lord, in every way pleasing. Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord. Fill me with the knowledge of your will. In all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Fill me full like this and I can walk worthy of you in every way pleasing, every way pleasing you, everything pleasing you. Lord, Baba change my mentality, change my orientation, change my perspective to be your perspective. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. For this is the actual blessing, this is the actual glory, when I am filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. When I am filled like this and I can walk worthy of you in every way pleasing. Every way pleasing you. Every way pleasing you. Lord, Baba change my mentality, change my orientation, change my perspective. change my perspective to be your perspective. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. Ma je n wa bakon na mo. For what omi o, Baba. Ma je n wa bakon na mo. For what omi o, Baba. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. For what omi o, Jesu. For what omi o, Baba. Ma je n wa bakon na mo. For what omi o, Baba. Jowo ma je n wa bakon na o. For what omi o, Baba.
Ask the Lord to change your mentality. Ask the Lord to change your orientation. Ask the Lord to change how you see things. Ask the Lord to help you, Baba fill me. Oh, Baba change my mentality, change the way I prioritize things. Change my orientation towards things. Ma je n wa bakon na. Change me, Lord. Make me a better person in the way I think. Lord, because as a man thinketh so he is. As a man thinketh so he is. Lord, change the way I see things, change the way I think, Lord God. Affect me. Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord. Let there be a metamorphosis, a metamorphosis in my thought life, a metamorphosis in my way of thinking, in my way of seeing the kingdom, in my orientation to your will, in my orientation to the kingdom. Oh God Almighty, that first may be first. First may be first. First may be first. First may be first. Oh Lord God Almighty, help me to have correct priority. Let's set my priority right. Olorun f'owo to mi. Lord, touch me. Lord, change me. Lord, change me. Lord, change me. Change me, Lord.
Thank you Father. Lord Jesus, we are grateful again for this evening. We thank you Lord. We thank you Lord. Lord, that is just our simple prayer. Lord, don't let us remain the way we are. Don't let us remain the way we are. Lord, do something that will bring a permanent reversal. Oh God, that your thoughts may be our thoughts. That your ways may be our ways in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord God Almighty, that we may set as the first priority in our lives obedience to you. Doing your will in the name of Jesus Christ. Walking in your counsel. Oh Lord, we beg you, fill us with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Thank you, father. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Let's share the grace together in fellowship. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen.
