[Choral singing]
[Voice-over]: Churchisms and fellowships cannot be more spiritual than the individuals and families that constitute them. God greatly desires a godly home from us. These are words of restoration and instruction in righteousness from Family Ten Ministry. May you be blessed as you listen.
[Speaker]: There must be the place of contending, of rising up. So what is it God trying to make us see? The basis. The basis is that the price, the price for what will set us free has been paid. The price for what will set us free has been paid. The basis for our freedom has been obtained.
What did Jesus say? He said, see, all powers in heaven and on earth has been what?
[Audience]: Given.
[Speaker]: Did Jesus tell them to go into the world before that time? Eh? Did he tell them to go into the world? When he was first sending them to go, he said go to the lost sheep of Israel. Go to this, go to that, go to this, eh? Heal the sick, raise the dead and all of that. But when he was now leaving, it was a new ball game. He said see, the basis on which you are going now is that all powers in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Now you are not just going to the lost sheep of Israel. You are going into all the earth.
You see the point I’m trying to make you see is that, if you look at that Psalm, the Psalm says, lift up your heads, oh you gates. Is that not? And be you lifted up, what? You everlasting doors, and let who come in? The King of Glory. What was the next thing that follows? Who is this Lord? That’s contention. He said who is this Lord that I should obey? That was the word of Pharaoh.
He said let Israel go that they may serve me. He said who is this Lord? Lift up your heads oh you gates. I will build my church, the gates of hell will not prevail. Now lift up your heads oh you gates. Be you lifted up you everlasting doors that the King of Glory may come in. Then there was a rest, a contention. Who is this person? Then there was a response. He is the Lord, mighty in what?
[Audience]: In battle.
[Speaker]: Why did they agree? Why did they submit? Because he fought with them and prevailed and collected the key. So anytime we come and we say lift up your heads oh you gates, and they say who, kini? Then we will answer them. It is in the name of Jesus, the Lord who is mighty in battle. We are not coming in our name. We are coming in the name in the power of somebody who has conquered, who has finished victory. The point I’m trying to make you see is that, the Lord said to the Israelites, I have given you the land but begin to engage them in what? In battle.
I see that it is the same thing that we are experiencing today. Is there anything different? It’s not anything different. It’s not anything different. Your possession has been given to you. Is that not true? Again, he said work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Why? For it is the Lord that works in you, both to will and to do. What are you working out when God has finished working? It’s only saying look, the land has been given, begin to contend with them in what? In battle.
In other words, you know what I begin to realize? Gradually and systematically I’m seeing something. Eh? Our inheritance, eh? Don’t come to us by desire, they come to us by demand. You have to demand your inheritance. But the basis of the demand, eh? Is what we are seeing in the truth. He said you err, not knowing the scripture. The basis of demanding it is what God has said. It has been written, it has been, that is the basis. And it took that, that was what Jesus used all his own, when he was to engage the devil. He came each time he said no, it has been written. Man shall not live by this, by that. He came again he said no, it has been written. So the basis of the contention was what? What has been written. And so as we know the scripture, you see, God is not expecting us to know the scripture, eh? For the sake of knowing that. He wants us to know the scripture for the sake of what? Eh? Standing on what the scripture has said.
And that is why I’m taking you back, back to how we started. You know when this thing, it started like just a small light, eh? But as I’m joining with you, I’m seeing a realistic thing as I’m joining with you. That was why the Lord began to raise a matter with me from up from the beginning and says stop saying who will go up to heaven to bring down Christ? Stop saying who will go down to raise him from the dead? It is with you. What is with you? Eh? That truth that you have known. That matter that has been preached. It’s in your mouth. If you will believe in your heart and you will confess it with your mouth, you will be saved. That is the working principle.
That thing that you have, that truth, he said you err, not knowing the scripture. That scripture that you know is not just to know it. It is to understand that that thing is what? Is the wisdom of God and is what? Is the power of God. But when you face a situation and then inside you you say, anyway, b'Olorun ba se kan, b'Olorun o ni se kan. Automatically what has happened? Eh? Can you enter the possession? No. And let me illustrate this with the Israelites.
Please brethren, you see, I want us to see this thing so that we can, we can see them very, very literally. Very, very literally. Did you notice that now please? You want to fight with a nation called Jericho. That’s at the entrance. God said, you know what you will do? Go round the city wall. How many days? Eh?
[Audience]: Seven days.
[Speaker]: Seven days. Each day, on the first day you go around how many times? Once. Now brethren, how easy? I hope you know that on the wall are the soldiers you want to fight. Are you aware? Eh? Awon ni. Those soldiers, ignore them. Just be going round their wall.
Please, what sense has that made? Awon to wa l'ori wall won yen, the wall of Jericho, even the width won tun ko ile l'ori e. Chariots and everything they are there, with all their ammunition. If they shoot arrow down you will be dead. He said no, the wisdom to conquer it, that will be going out. Is that wisdom to conquer or wisdom to die? Don’t you see that sometimes faith is like you want to waste your life? Oh, you don’t understand me at all.
I remember speaking, I think I gave the example, I was speaking somewhere. A man was having serious challenge with his marriage. And I said do you notice that in the scripture, eh? It is not your wife that commanded you to love her. He said yes, it’s not it. I said who said so? I said it’s the Lord. I said so what suddenly makes you to stop loving her? Because she was disobedient. Is she the one that commanded you? I said leave her. You just go and do what you have been commanded to do. Ah! He said to what extent? I said to all extent. Ah, af'oro ohun loju ku ni. O le o. O ni it's difficult. How will you love... I said love her as Christ, as I said has Christ loved the church? Ah! O ni sir, o ni kini te n so yi ko se eh. Now I don’t know whether you understand me. How will you be... You are death and a bit. I said look, when the farmer is planting, eh? He plants and wait for harvest. I said go and plant. I said you want to harvest without laboring and you will never harvest. This marriage will never work. But for him, he feels what I was saying is not a good method. That woman will be cheating him. I’m showing you in Jericho.
If not because they chose to be foolish. O wo o bayi. You go the first day, mind you as you go the first day, t'o ba ti ri yin n pa, won a organize. Is that not true? By the second day when you are going, something will tell you that, hey, ha, are you sure won o ni organize didan to fi pa yin. T'o ba ko ti jade bayi, won o ko fire kini yen ni. Even if they forget the second day, they said you go again the third day. You get the point? And they are looking at you, they’re looking at you one way, one way, one way. Ma ti lo s'atide o bi won se ma pa yin. Won ti ni ko lo the fourth day. I’m sure by the fifth day some of us will say, ah, some of us will not join the march again. Is that not true?
When a brother says I believe the Lord will raise this matter, God has said, by the time he pray, pray, the first day nothing work. The second day. The third day. Some of the brethren will say, e wo, e je ka kuro nidi kini yi. B'ase n ba kini yi lo yi, e je ka lo gbo're, e je ka lo common sense. Se e ri pe... Am I not correct?
And by the time you are going the sixth day, even as you are walking, except that you trust God who has spoken, you know you are not sure of what will come down from above. You are not so certain of your life except that you are sure that God said I should be going round. And then the seventh day, won ni ke wa lo seven times. What I’m trying to make you see, that method, does it look strong or weak? Wise or foolish? That is the point. Don’t you look like somebody who lack initiative when faith is speaking sometimes?
And then the seventh day, he said then you just shout, the wall will come down. Let’s be factual. How many of us will believe that that wall will come...? You know when we are reading story it’s easier to read those stories. E je k'a mo ohun ti won ti ko awon stories yi fun. These things were written down for our learning so that we can understand what faith is all about. By the time some of us we have waited sometime, a day can be a year. You have prayed about... The Lord said, the Lord said, one year ko si result. Two years ko si result. You know you begin to waver. Anyway, boya Olorun de si le se. And it is as we waver, eh? That God’s power vanishes. It’s not because that thing will not have worked. It’s because at a point, just imagine at a point they began to grumble. Just imagine at a point they began to grumble among themselves. Joshua, bawo la se n lo go round n'nu... These people will not throw stones for... Anyway, anyway we'll be going... I hope God has not come to kill us. What do you think would have happened at that place? Will God have worked for them or against them?
Many times what look as if faith is not working is that no, it’s that the power of the Gospel, eh? Only worked against us because we did not believe it. Because the basis, what I’m, what I’m enlarging is that God keep telling me over and over again that the matter of this matter of Isaiah 53 is in the verse one. Who will believe our report? The more I want to journey into the chapter, God keep taking me back to the beginning. Pe o ma ti journey, e ma ti journey. Check examples in scriptures. Check this example. My method have never, have never look wise. My method have never looked strong. It has looked foolish. My method is not common sense. My method is not fact. My method is truth. God said. If we believe this report.
And so and we as I keep, as the Lord bring this to my heart and bringing it to you that go and check these matters. That by the time you come, by the time you get to the seventh day and they were going round, going round, going round. I’m showing you how sometimes in the things of faith it looks as if we are merry-go-rounding, we are not progressing. But actually God’s power is building. The power of God is building. B'Olorun se n s'agbara Olorun n mura lati d'aki ogun. Se e mo p'ogun o lo ti fence yen wo. Eh? W'on s'edi fence yen ni. Whichever way, whether they went down, or... It see, it could not have fallen inside. It must go to the other side. Anyhow, anyhow, you know they are many things you could have imagine about that thing that happened because it’s a mystery. That whole thing is a mystery. It’s possible the whole thing just went down because do you know that later we discovered that for example do you know that that Red Sea, it was actually that the sea bed became like dry ground? Are you aware? Eh? Ti t'Olorun n ba n po ko, ko part. A s'ile aye d'aje k'ota k'ota. Rara, o gbe, ile gbigbe. Omi de n se n ba un, n se n ba un. Kini Olorun fi gbe, ki lo fi gbe?
You see you cannot imagine God’s power. You know we we try to bring God s'atunse k'oluwa. We try to reduce God by what I want to ask you. By what means under heaven? Eh? By what scientific knowledge and by what scientific approach can you part a river, a sea and at the same instant the ground is dry? And not as if the water went away. The water is by the ground. Tell me which physics?
It’s difficult to, it’s difficult to fathom. It’s difficult to fathom. You see I’m trying to make you understand the power that is at work in us. It’s an incredible power. He said that, you see, God gave all of that so that we cannot be... You see it’s difficult to describe the resurrection power. So all those things they help you to be able to describe b'agbara yen se n s'ise. Mind you, all of this power ko ti t'agbara to gbe Jesu ji n'de o. Because he said all of this glory were no more glorious because of the new glory that Jesus brought. Awon yen o ti glorious o, won o ti t'agbara e t'ofe Jesu fi s'ise. So ki wa ni Jesu fi s'ise? If we really know this power, se a lo n d'egbetu gbetu lo'wo baba lawo k'a m'a fi n s'church?
Can you put egbetu gbetu by this kind of power? Can you? Se won sun m'ora? T'a n wa touch and fall, won ti touch won de ti fall, won ti kini, t'a n wa yen kiri. Under the water, under the sea. Ko s'eni l'aye nkan t'o sele n'josi yen ni.
But we don’t know. So what we don’t know the power we will err. We’ll be looking for some nkan t'o ti e sun m'o. I watched a film. A pastor went to one herbalist to collect power. Mind you when he got there somebody had kidnapped a girl that they want to use for rituals to that herbalist shrine or whatever where the herbalist operate. Now when the herbalist saw the girl, eh? And the power that is in the girl, the herbalist was shivering. Mind you the the pastor came all the way to visit the herbalist for power. Mind you the herbalist, when he he have encountered the girl at a point in time in history, seeing the girl again, he said please don’t harm me. You have brought that power again. I don’t want that power. Please, I will not harm you. So the pastor was wondering in his heart. L'eyin t'eyi ti mo n wa gba'bara. O l'ori omo binrin t'on gbon.
I don’t know whether, you see, the point I’m trying to make you see is that we have lost sight. A o ri. We are not seeing God’s power. We have made God too small. We have made his power nkan t'o to nkan. If you really understand this power, eh? If you really understand this power. Do you think somebody says, tue! tue! f'owo l'ogbo ngbo, se wa bother lati gbadura?
I’m telling you if you understand this power, will you bother to say ah Jesus, it will not work in Jesus’ name, no weapon, there's no enchantment against Jacob, there's no divination, will you be like that? S'ope aanu eni yen a ko ma se e. Aanu e ma de se o. Ka l'omo eni t'on ba s'ise, ka l'omo eni t'on ba t'ayo. Baba e ma d'on kini yi wo o, e ma d'ori wa m'a so. E ma try e. E ma try kini yi, e ma ku si. A ni kini kan, emi l'on ba so, eh tue! Baba eh! Do you know that that’s what we’ll be saying? Because you know that. That’s in you. He that fall upon this rock will be broken. If I now come, ah!
Anyhow, anyhow, any- you know, any time- it’s the same thing, he was comforted to the herbalist, the herbalist was trembling. In fact, he was trembling and he was shivering. He wanted to hide somewhere behind some some ogbe k'o ju k'o gbe. The pastor now wonder. Heh! Se rawo t'o m'agbara yi? Yes! Did you see if there’s anything? I’m not CAC, so you don’t you see I’m supporting CAC. I knew that that founder knew he knew the power of God. He knew that man knew God’s power, he knew God’s power. The only thing that he did not know is that he did not know the scripture.
And that’s why the whole thing crumbled the way it went. The two must be balanced. That is the word of the Lord. He said you err, not knowing the scripture and then the power. T'o ba de m'o scripture t'o m'o the power, eh? O n ti ni nkan t'o you could- eh- you won’t do anything. Because all of the time you’ll just be thinking, you know the Bible says, no, by his stripes you are- oh you didn’t do anything. Eh? We have been delivered. W'on m'a t'e e pa l'oru. Iye iyen wa ko ma so na ni. You will still not experience the thing. It’s both sides.
Because I also know, I also know- of it- somebody was telling me of of this same man’s story that you know he went somewhere to pray and unfortunately a big snake passed by him. Eh? By passing by him and touching him the thing died. That man knew God’s power. He knew it. He knew it. You see the point I’m trying to make is that you see, the Lord was just using this Jericho something to, it God was starting to illustrate something to me. That the way faith work is not that our generation has become too knowledgeable to follow God. We have become too commonsensical. We want to reason out faith. We want to- we want to play the card and ask but which card can you play? That’s why we talk about the Red Sea. How which card do you want to play? P'ile yi a gbe, a de ma rin l'ori e, omi a de ma sun l'egbe. Which card? Or which card do you want to play? Eh? By the time you are going round that seventh time, you are going round the seventh time and you go and look as if you are just going round the same thing, will this thing really work? I’ve been speaking this word, it said I should just speak it, I spoke it ko result. But I said it ah mo tun ni kin tun so, ah am I really sure say ah no the Bible says the word of God ko result. You begin to wonder whether the thing is real. But the thing is real.
Sometimes God is only saying go round. God is only trying to see if you can believe the testimony of his word. And that’s what he wanted to see in them. And they were going round seven times and I’m just wondering how they were able to do it. And they were not you know ko ma se bayi ko ma wo pe nkan kan m'bo l'at'oke. And then won ni ke wa pariwo. P'eje k'e gbogbo akure b'osi idi fence eleyi k'on pariwo boya wo wo jogiri yi ma wo.
Now you are looking at a fence that the width chariot rin l'ori e. Eyan ko le si. Just say hey, the King of Glory. Iwo ni o de t'o. O de lo seven times. Hey! Please, by what principle?
Wait and see. That was not- it was not true. It could have been the first day. T'on se the second day. T'on se the sixth day. Won m'a mo pe awa k'o l'agbara wa e de m'a bo, m'a bo. Ojo ojokan o s'ise. O fe se t'ope l'eni. B'e se ko yen m'a s'ise, e je k'a ma wo. Okay O de, ah! Won si m'a fi won s'awada. Which is a possibility. Is it not a possibility? It’s a possibility.
But God sometimes we don’t want to be ridiculed when we believe God. Oro Olorun o, kini yen ha wa l'e se. Boya ko se sise ko se sise se mo so fun wa. And then you begin to wonder, this thing, this thing, se kini ma anyway. And then the next time you want to call, you won’t say the way you have been saying it before. You’ll just say silently, Lord you know you can hear me, you can hear me. You don’t want to be mocked. I’m trying to make you see why we are not seeing God’s power.
I’m trying to illustrate the matter God has been raising with me about just this verse one. Pe o ma tun journey further. O o ti journey. Go back and look at this verse one. Who will believe? This generation, we don’t believe this report. We have not entered this report. But I’m asking you, I’m showing you the method. I want you to look at several things in your life. Have you gone round your own wall? What are the walls in your own life that I am saying just go round? You have gone round the first day, you’ve gone round the second day and by the third day you say this thing will not work. Are there walls you are going around now and you have lost faith?
Are there things I’m talking about believing? I’m talking about believing the report. Is there a matter you have said Lord, the Bible says, and because you said that, the first day o de ri nkan the second day. And you left that matter. And since you left that matter several years back the case has been closed. The Jericho wall has still been standing till today.
You see the basis why you see, God gives you courage to persist and to insist, eh? Is because the land has been given to you. God is only saying engage them in battle. It’s not about whether o ni ri gba. That’s not the matter at stake. The matter at stake is not whether you will get it or not. The matter is that will you engage them or not?
And you know, when our sister quoted that scripture, it was just as if petrol has been poured and then you just throw fire into it. That Romans 8:32 said if he did not withhold his only son, how many of you are here that God have withheld his only son from? You are not sure whether you are born again. I want us to be sincere. You are not sure. You are not very sure. You are not sure whether actually he has given you salvation. Is there anybody here? You are sure of that. Is there anybody who is not sure? So we can address this bath in our life today. You are not sure whether he has given you his only son. You are wondering whether he has given you. But if you are sure that he gave you, heaven is asking you how will I not with him also freely give you all? Not some things.
If that’s why we're telling somebody, I said which is easier to get? To be saved or to be delivered? Emi wa s'e bo won m'a deliver wa. Ah hey! Mo l'o mo nkan kan. Which one is easier to do? To be saved or to be delivered? To be delivered is easier than to be saved. Because the basis is that, if he did not withhold his only- it was difficult to give his son. But if God, he says all that the Father have given unto me, eh? They will come. And whosoever come unto me, I will in no wise cast out. Look at the second offer. He said come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Look at another scripture. Jona, when he began that John 3 from verse 14, 15 to 16. It says for as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth in him will be saved. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life, eh? It says for the Father sent the son, verse 17, into the world, not to condemn the world, but that through him the world might be saved. He that believes in him is not condemned. But he that believes not is condemned already because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. What he’s saying is that for God to have given his son, o gba.
Ah o ri p'o ti parun. Ki wa ku t'Olorun fe fun. If I can because of you kill my son, so what is left in my glory that I can't give you? But o de p'omo yeye yi. B'omi o wa sure boya maybe he can give me two hundred thousand. O de ti p'omo yi t'on t'on t'emi because of me. But wa la ku lo wo e bayi mo m'o maybe he has the love for me to give me two hundred thousand. What will be your reaction? I’m showing you why unbelief is a rebellion.
I’m showing you why God said that, eh? Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, tossed here and there. He said let that man not think that he will receive anything from God. K'o m'a ro k'o m'a ro, f'ife p'Olorun m'a se nkan kan. K'o m'a ro l'ai l'ai p'Olorun m'a se nkan kan.
Because it said he has not been- and this is the condemnation. See, don’t believe, ah eeyan gbo'm'o e sile so he wanted to provoke my own spirit? I don’t know whether you understand what it means to be saved. He said but without faith it is impossible to please God. It is not possible. You can’t please God because that has been the method all through with our fathers. And when God was to judge them eventually, God- notice what God said in that Hebrews chapter 3. You know we read chapter 4. Look at Hebrews chapter 3. It said God said that they do always err in their heart, eh? For they have not known his ways.
Can we check that scripture together? It said God said, they do always err in their heart because they have not known his ways. They do always err in their heart because they have not known his ways. Can we read that scripture? That is Hebrews chapter 3. That should be around verse 12 or thereabout. If not, verse 10, but then we’ll start from verse 10. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation and said they do always err in their heart. See where God said people err? In their heart. They do always err in their heart, eh? And they have not known my ways. They have not known my ways, eh? So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest. Okay.
Now, now, now look at having said that. Now go to what he meant by that his swearing. Look at verse 18 and 19. And to whom sware he that they should not enter? He said and to whom sware he they will not enter into his rest? But to them that believe not. But to them that believe not. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. So what is the ways of God they did not know? Faith. And what is that faith? What God said.
It said go and take the land. Then God- they were afraid. That was the faith. Is it not the same thing today? God spoke to us and with you always. When somebody under the Old Covenant was saying surely goodness and mercy shall follow me. He now said look, I am with you to the end of the world. Jesus se o wa pelu mi bayi? Jesus ma fi mi sile o. Jesus ma ma je k'ota fi mi s'eye. Jesus ma fi mi sile. You see, I don’t know whether you understand what I’m trying to bring out. If you are saying that out of a heart of confidence, Lord Jesus, I know you are with us. Jesus I know you can’t leave us. That is the one that moves God. It’s not the fear that says Jesus ma fi mi sile o. It looked like- they look religious. They look like a way of attracting God where you are humble. But true humility is to submit to God. Submit to what he has said. Humble yourself, leave your own wisdom. Something is happening, you say Lord Jesus, you said you will be with us. We thank you because you are with us in this matter. You cannot leave us. That is the humility. Because you are believing. You can’t see him and yet you are saying you know you are with us. Lord Jesus everything is scattering, but you we know that you are present. We know that you are in control. We know that you know what you are doing. We don’t understand, but we know you know what you are doing. That is the one that is speaking faith.
Who will believe this report? Let us pray. I want you to just talk to the Lord very briefly. Just talk to the Lord. Just talk to the Lord. You we actually we ought to spend a lot of time to pray concerning this light tonight. So maybe next month we will pray a little more than we are praying today. But I want you to talk. You see, these are things that it’s only God that can do it in your heart. He said I will build my church. Tell God, Lord, let my heaven rain righteousness. Let the earth open up, ma je ki n wa b'akona. Aiye mi gba'na je o Oluwa. Ah ino orun b'omo okan mi lo. Fire! Light! Lord let something happen to my heart. Lord bring me loose. Bring me loose from limiting you. Set me free. Lord let the fire of your spirit pass through my soul. Let the fire of your spirit pierce through my being. Let something pass through and break me open. Let something rip me open to believe the Gospel. Let something rip me open. Lord rip me open. Cause my heart to be liberated. Cause my soul to be liberated. Something that tied me down, everything to be tied down. I want to move in the way of Lord. I want to move in the way of God. I want to move in the way of God. I want to move. Everything holding me down. Be loose! Be loose! Be loose! In the name of Jesus. Let everything be scattered all around. Let the fire of God take over. Let everything holding me down, everything resisting me. I command you. I command you. I command you. Every power, be broken! Down! Forward! I move forth in life. Lord shoot your arrows. Lord scatter them. Lord scatter everything around my soul. Every spiritual oppression that has held me back, that has held me down. Hey! Lord I move into the realm of God. Into the power of God. Everything holding me down. Be loose! Be loose! Oh I believe. Oh I believe the report of the Lord. Who will believe the report? Oh I believe. Oh I believe the report of the Lord. Lord, I open up my heart, ready for your holy fire. Let your holy fire! Let your holy fire! Let your holy fire! Let your holy fire! Let your holy fire! Your holy fire, Lord, Lord, Lord, burn within me! Burn in my soul. Your holy fire, your holy fire, your holy fire, your holy fire, your holy fire. Oh Lord, fire! In the name of Jesus, let the holy fire burn within my soul. I believe the report of the Lord. Who will believe the report? Oh I believe. Oh I believe the report of the Lord. Lord, we thank you for the power that is at work in us already. Lord we decree, we possess our possession. In the name of Amen. We possess our possession. In the name of Amen. We possess our possession. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Let's share the grace in fellowship.
[Singing]: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ...
[Voice-over]: Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
